Sheffield Wednesday boss Henrik Pedersen makes three changes to the side which lost at Bristol City last Saturday.

Liam Cooper and Jan Valery return to the side, while new boy Jerry Yates starts on his debut following his loan move from Luton Town yesterday.

Meanwhile, Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson rolls the changes and their are four alterations from the side that started their late win at QPR.

Max Cleworth, Liberato Cacare, Josh Windass - who starts against his old club - and Sam Smith all start while Dan Scarr, George Thomason, Lewis O'Brien and Kieffer Moore drop to the bench.

  3. 'I don't believe Armstrong is injured'published at 12:25 GMT 31 January

    Stoke v Southampton (12:30 GMT)

    Jo Tessem
Ex-Southampton midfielder on BBC Radio Solent

My view of it is I think they [Cameron Archer and Adam Armstrong] are off to somewhere else.

I don't believe for a second that Adam Armstrong is injured, and I think there is something else going on.

My feeling is is that Armstrong is trying to force his way into a deal, and this is the only way it sort of happens.

I think the club is looking where they are in the table, and it is massive sign that they feel that they will be playing in the Championship next season.

  4. Two changes apiece for Potters and Saintspublished at 12:24 GMT 31 January

    Stoke v Southampton (12:30 GMT)

Mark Robins has made two changes to the Stoke XI which salvaged a 1-1 draw at Birmingham last time out.

Dutch striker Milan Smit, 22, makes his Potters debut after arriving in the week on loan and Bosan Lawal returns from suspension while Million Manhoef misses out with a minor injury and Tatsuki Seko drops to the bench.

Saints boss Tonda Eckert has made two changes from the side which drew 1-1 at Portsmouth last Sunday.

Tom Fellows and Ross Stewart are back in the Southampton line-up after coming off the bench at Fratton Park with Kuryu Matsuki dropping to the bench.

Interestingly with less than three days of the transfer window remaining, there is no Adam Armstrong or Cameron Archer in the squad at all.

Sheffield Wednesday bid an emotional farewell in midweek to talismanic captain Barry Bannan after over a decade at the club.

The 36-year-old has moved on to pastures new at promotion-hunting Millwall as his now old side stare down the barrel of a relegation which has been pretty much nailed on since they received an initial 12-point deduction from the EFL in October, which was later increased with a further six-point penalty two months later.

In their first match since 2015 without Bannan, the Owls welcome a Wrexham side still buoyed from their last-gasp victory at Queens Park Rangers.

Former Wednesday midfielder Josh Windass returns to Hillsborough after scoring last Saturday and the Welsh club will have full focus on climbing back into the top-six by around 14:30 today following Derby's thumping 5-0 victory at Bristol City last night.

  7. Saints aim to get back on track on the road at Potterspublished at 12:18 GMT 31 January

Big game this, with Stoke seeking to get back to winning ways as they welcome travel-sick Southampton.

The Potters are winless in three games and four without a league victory at the Bet365 to sit 11th, albeit only three points outside the top six.

Saints are five points back in 15th and will be aiming to end a six-game winless streak on the road during which they have earned just two points.

The Potters' 2-1 win at St Mary's in August means they are trying to complete a league double over Saints for the first time in 58 years and if they pick up the points today, it will be the first time City have ever won three straight games against Southampton.

  8. Struggling Foxes and Addicks meetpublished at 12:16 GMT 31 January

    Leicester v Charlton (12:30 GMT)

There is a bit of a dark cloud hanging over the King Power at the moment with Leicester City's bid to return straight to the Premier League not exactly going as planned.

The Foxes are 14th and seven points adrift of the play-off places after just two wins in their past eight games (D1 L5) - a run that prompted the board to sack Marti Cifuentes and put club legend Andy King in temporary charge.

This will be Leicester's first game since that decision was made by owner Khun Aiyawatt 'Top' Srivaddhanaprabha, who says the fans should blame him for recent struggles.

"I feel for the fans and I'm the same, I'm a football fan. I love football, and when the team is losing, it hurts a lot," he told BBC Radio Leicester. "But you need to find a way out, and you need to find how to fix it."

Visitors Charlton are enduring an equally challenging time of it with just two wins from their past 14 games (D3 L3), meaning they've slipped from play-off contention to a relegation battle.

The Addicks are 19th and only three points above the drop zone. They need results and they need them fast.

Wrexham and Stoke have the opportunity to move into the play-off places in their respective lunchtime games, although the Welsh club hold a top-point advantage over the Potters if they both win.

Leicester can close the gap to Derby in sixth to four points and Southampton will be looking to go within five.

At the other end, Charlton are three points above the drop zone and will hope to pull further clear.

    As for Sheffield Wednesday, well...

The Championship weekend began in style as Derby romped to a 5-0 win at a lacklustre Bristol City to leap into the Championship play-off places.

Rhian Brewster and Ben Brereton Diaz goals had the Rams 2-0 up inside 16 minutes and Bobby Clark made it 3-0 nine minutes before half-time as Derby ripped City open with a slick passage of one-touch play on the counter-attack.

Patrick Agyemang headed the fourth midway through the second half while Lars-Jorgen Salvesen's close-range finish completed Derby's first 5-0 away win in 67 years.

Christmas is long gone and the scramble of the transfer window is about to come to an end.

And so it feels like we really are now at the business end of the season with teams' goals - be they promotion, survival or building for next year - programmed for the run-in.

Some big clubs are at the heart of the Championship relegation battle, with Norwich starting to pull away, while West Brom and Portsmouth are in the midst of it.

With that in mind, here are five things to look out for across the EFL this weekend.

    Good afternoon.

Congratulations on making it to the final day of January, a month which feels twice as long as any other.

In golf majors they refer to 'moving day' which is when a field takes shape on day three ahead of a dramatic final round.

This afternoon feels like a very big one indeed in terms of the promotion and relegation picture in the second tier so there's no time to waste... let's bring you up to speed.
