    Leicester 0-2 Charlton

Hard to remember when times were this bleak for Leicester, having won the Premier League and FA Cup in the past 10 years.

The Foxes are in their lowest position in the English football pyramid at this stage of a season since their 2010-11 Championship campaign when they were 14th after 25 games. They went on to finish 10th that year.

They haven’t finished lower than their current position of 15th in the Championship since 2008 when they were relegated to League One.

Wrexham are back into the top six with a fourth away win in a row!

Sam Smith's goal just shy of the hour mark separated the two sides as the Welsh club pick up a vital three points in a tight affair at Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday put in a brave battle, as they consistently have throughout the season, and were never out of the match but Bailey Cadamarteri saw his effort brilliantly saved by Arthur Okonkwo before, seconds later, Matty James cleared Jamal Lowe's goalbound volley off the line.

Wrexham climb back to sixth on 47 points while Wednesday remain on -7, a massive 37 points away from safety, as they stare down the barrel of an inevitable relegation.

Svante Ingelsson hurls a huge long throw into the box but it well dealt with by the Wrexham defence.

    That could well be that.

    Stoke 0-2 Southampton

Southampton players celebrate Flynn Downes' goal at StokeImage source, Shutterstock

Boos from the home fans but this is much more like the Southampton we expected to see this season.

They were oozing confidence in attack and managed to keep the Potters at arms's length for the vast majority of the game after taking an early lead through Finn Azaz's close-range opener to round-off a clinical team move.

Flynn Downes' scrappy second from his backside early in the second half put the seal on it and after as comfortable 2-0 win as you'll see Saints are very much looking up the table once again, back in the top-half and seven points shy of the play-offs.

As for Stoke, that's two points, and two goals, from their past five home games in the league and they are two points and a place above Saints.

A season which promised so much is fizzling away.

    Sheff Wed 0-1 Wrexham

Jayden Heskey takes out Kieffer Moore and should probably be booked as the referee waves play on before having a word with Heskey once the ball goes out of play.

Referee David Webb keeps his card in his pocket, however, as he has all day.

    90 seconds left here.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:23 GMT 31 January

    Stoke 0-2 Southampton

Welington does brilliantly to burst away from danger down the left, stretching his legs to breeze past two men and is almost past Bosun Lawal when the Potters full-back lunges in to bring him down in full-flight.

That's a nailed-on yellow and a painful one for the Brazilian - Lawal now has beef with Welington.

  7. 'Stoke are offering very little'published at 14:22 GMT 31 January

    Stoke 0-2 Southampton

    Adam Blackmore
    BBC Radio Solent sports editor

Stoke are offering very little and are still not threatening Southampton's net.

Saints are going to win away from home for first time since Charlton in November.

  8. INJURY TIMEpublished at 14:21 GMT 31 January

    Stoke 0-2 Southampton

We'll have FOUR added minutes at the end of this one.

Stoke have scored two goals in their past four home league matches, they now need two in four minutes to snatch a point they would hardly deserve.

  9. INJURY TIMEpublished at 14:21 GMT 31 January

    Sheff Wed 0-1 Wrexham

The fourth official has indicated there will be a minimum of FOUR minutes at the end at Hillsborough.

  10. Postpublished at 14:20 GMT 31 January

    Leicester 0-2 Charlton

Charlton are seeing this out pretty well at the moment. Around seven minutes plus stoppages to play as Leicester fans start streaming out of the King Power.

  11. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:20 GMT 31 January

    Stoke 0-2 Southampton

Ryan Manning is off the bench for the visitors for the last knockings, with Tom Fellows making his way off after a fine turn, which included a brilliant assist to the opening goal on 10 minutes.

  12. CLOSE!published at 14:17 GMT 31 January

    Stoke 0-2 Southampton

Favour Fawunmi pinches Welington's pocket in the right corner and drives into the box and he only has one thing on his mind, there is no way on earth he's pulling this back for Milan Smit and so he fires one at the near post which Jack Stephens deflects behind.

Smit was not amused, of course.

The subsequent corner is met by Ashley Phillips but the big defender can't keep his header down and the home fans start to stream for the exits.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:15 GMT 31 January

    Leicester 0-2 Charlton

Not an afternoon for Jordan Ayew to remember. The man who missed the Leicester penalty is off, as is Stephy Mavididi.

On come Patson Daka and talented 16-year-old Jeremy Monga.

  14. GREAT SAVE!published at 14:14 GMT 31 January

    Stoke 0-2 Southampton

Tatsuki Seko comes within inches of getting one back for the hosts with a thumping 20-yard volley but it's a fantastic save from Daniel Peretz, at full stretch, down to his bottom left corner, to turn the ball onto the inside of the post and it bounces back across goal and away from danger.

Favour Fawunmi, just off the bench for Stoke, then picks up a caution for a high boot on Jack Stephens as he attempted to block the clearance.

  15. Postpublished at 14:13 GMT 31 January

    Leicester 0-2 Charlton

Matty Godden with a half-chance to kill this game off but he can only fire over from a tight angle. Tough chance to be honest.

While this game hits a bit of a lull, another alarming stat for Leicester fans... the Foxes have won just 16 of their past 67 league games (D15 L36) since the beginning of the 2024-25 campaign.

  16. TRIPLE SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:12 GMT 31 January

    Sheff Wed 0-1 Wrexham

Following that near escape, Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson and decides to freshen things up.

Ex-Owl Josh Windass - who receives a great reception from the home crowd, Nathan Broadhead and Sam Smith are withdrawn for OIiver Rathbone, Lewis O'Brien and Kieffer Moore - who is given a rather less warm greeting due to his Sheffield United connections.

  17. Postpublished at 14:12 GMT 31 January

    Leicester 0-2 Charlton

Abdul Fatawu floats one in for Leicester towards Jordan Ayew but it's very well defended by Charlton and it goes behind for a goal-kick.

It's just fizzling out a little bit now for the Foxes. Can they try and regain any sort of momentum? The Addicks are closing in on a first league away win in 10 games on the road.

  18. 'A drab afternoon for the Foxes'published at 14:11 GMT 31 January

    Leicester 0-2 Charlton

    Owynn Palmer-Atkin
    BBC Radio Leicester commentator

There are now dark clouds forming over the King Power Stadium, on what has been a drab afternoon for the Foxes at home.

This game has really lost all of its bite, energy and momentum.

  20. Postpublished at 14:11 GMT 31 January

    Stoke 0-2 Southampton

Farai Hallam has just had another word with Saints keeper Daniel Peretz, who has already been previously booked for delaying the game.

We still have north of 10 minutes of normal time plus presumably five of added time to come. And the Saints lead is two goals.

Would be madness if he were to get himself sent-off in this situation.
