    Chelsea 0-0 Pafos

Chelsea have a corner but Pafos goalkeeper Jay Gorter does well to get a big punch to it and clear the danger.

It was a little bit more of Liverpool of old with Gravenberch nicking it in midfield.

It's interesting to see Ekitike on the left-had side and Liverpool aren't actually playing with a number nine with Wirtz and Szoboszlai in front for Mac Allister and Gravenberch.

It's a lovely move from Liverpool but Hugo Ekitike goes a tad too early. That's a huge let off for Marseille because Ekitike could have maybe held his run. The Marseille fans celebrated that decision as if they'd scored. Promising signs for Arne Slot though.

    Marseille 0-0 Liverpool

That disallowed goal will only encourage Liverpool, though. They must feel like they can create chances here.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:27 GMT 21 January

    Newcastle 1-0 PSV

Bruno Guimarães clatters into Joey Veerman and the Newcastle captain is booked. He's not happy with the decision, but seems fair.

Juventus play themselves into trouble just outside their own penalty area and goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio is forced into a smart save to deny Benfica's Heorhii Sudakov.

  7. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 20:26 GMT 21 January

    Marseille 0-0 Liverpool

Hugo Ekitike's opener is chalked off. The Liverpool striker was a yard in front of the play when he didn't need to be.

  8. Postpublished at 20:25 GMT 21 January

    Chelsea 0-0 Pafos

Pafos have offered very little going forward but are almost gifted something when a pass back to Filip Jörgensen is almost intercepted by Anderson Silva, but Jorgensen calmly chests the ball away from danger and then clears.

    Hugo Ekitike (23 mins)

    Great play!

Ryan Gravenberch snaps into a challenge and off Liverpool go on the attack. Dominik Szoboszlai slides it across for Hugo Eikitike to tap home.

    Marseille 0-0 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

Liverpool's press has been very effective so far. Marseille want to build attacks from the back but they can't get out to play the way they want to.

You can hear more from Warnock on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 GMT on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

Another game where I'm confused by Slot's setup: Ekitike playing off the left wing isn't his ideal position, especially since he's been in great form playing up top.

That has to be one of the softest calls I have seen this season as Enzo Fernandez's header is ruled out for a push.

The midfielder was in disbelief and the decision seems to have fired Chelsea up with a sense of injustice.

This is basically an exercise of attack versus defence.

  13. Postpublished at 20:22 GMT 21 January

    Newcastle 1-0 PSV

A chance for Newcastle to maybe get a second here as they win a free-kick some 35 yards from goal. Kieran Trippier sends the ball into the box but it is well cleared.

Good play from Gravenberch into Mac Allister who drags his shot a little bit wide. Again for Liverpool, when they win the ball back they counter attack quickly and that was a good opportunity.

It's been a decent start for Liverpool. Marseille are clearly sitting back whenever Arne Slot's side have the ball and Florian Wirtz is running the show. That opening for Alexis Mac Allister is a warning for the home side.

  16. CLOSE!published at 20:21 GMT 21 January

    Marseille 0-0 Liverpool

Alexis Mac Allister goes past Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and drives a daisy cutter towards the far post. Inches wide.

    Marseille 0-0 Liverpool

Mo Salah's corner is cleared but Virgil van Dijk recycles the ball. He goes left to Hugo Ekitike but his pass to Salah is slightly overhit.

Liverpool are in charge here, though.

    Newcastle 1-0 PSV

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 Live at the St James' Park

Guimares has gone down. I don't know if it is a knock because he has looked a bit sluggish this game. When you are that sluggish, you might be carrying some sort of injury. Maybe he just wants a rest and a little bit of concern for Eddie Howe and Newcastle fans.

  19. Postpublished at 20:20 GMT 21 January

    Newcastle 1-0 PSV

There's a break in play as Bruno Guimarães needs treatment. Eventually he is back on his feet and seems OK to continue.

  20. Postpublished at 20:19 GMT 21 January

    Marseille 0-0 Liverpool

Florian Wirtz is starting to pull the strings. He looks for a curled ball over the top for Hugo Eikitike but Marseille deal with it. Jeremie Frimpong manages to find Ekitike and Liverpool win a corner.
