I can't think of many occasions Bruno Guimaraes has ever signalled to come off.

But the Newcastle United captain has not looked right since suffering an ankle issue.

It is rather telling that he has had to come off just minutes before half-time.

Newcastle supporters are on their feet to applaud him off the field and chant his name. The Brazilian is limping badly as he makes his way down the tunnel.

  2. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:49 GMT 21 January

    Chelsea 0-0 Pafos

A chance on the stroke of half-time as Jorrel Hato's well-struck effort is kept out by Jay Gorter.

It is goalless at the break, but Gorter has been busy.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:48 GMT 21 January

    Newcastle 2-0 PSV

Bruno Guimarães cannot continue as he continues to hobble and he is replaced by Lewis Miley just before half-time. The Newcastle fans are on their feet to applaud him.

GOAL - Marseille 0-1 Liverpoolpublished at 20:48 GMT 21 January

    Dominik Szoboszlai (45+1 mins)

    Very clever!

No wonder Dominik Szoboszlai points to his head in celebration! The Marseille wall jumps, thinking he's looking for the top bins but he drills it underneath to give Liverpool the lead.

Bruno Guimares has asked to come off for the third time. He is hobbling severely.

  6. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20:46 GMT 21 January

    Marseille 0-0 Liverpool

Now then, there's a VAR check for a penalty here against Timothy Weah. Jeremie Frimpong's cross rolls down Weah's arm.

Anyway, no penalty. Too high up the arm, apparently.

  7. Slavia Prague equalise immediatelypublished at 20:46 GMT 21 January

    Slavia Prague 2-2 Barcelona

    The lead didn't last long!

Slavia Prague equalise straightaway - and it comes from another corner.

Near post again, flicked on again and this time it hits Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski and goes in! Own goal.

  8. Postpublished at 20:46 GMT 21 January

    Marseille 0-0 Liverpool

Jeremie Frimpong is fouled but he quickly gets to his feet and sends a lofty ball to the back post.

Ryan Gravenberch goes past Leonardo Balerdi on the edge of the box and he's brought down. Chance here.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:45 GMT 21 January

    Newcastle 2-0 PSV

PSV are forced into a change just before the break as Anass Salah-Eddine is injured. He is replaced by Armando Obispo.

  10. Frustration is building in the stands at Chelseapublished at 20:45 GMT 21 January

    Chelsea 0-0 Pafos

    BBC Sport Chelsea reporter

There have been a smattering of chants for former owner Roman Abramovich chants after Pafos hit the post but seems a vocal minority thus far.

  11. Lopez turns it around for Barcelonapublished at 20:44 GMT 21 January

    Slavia Prague 1-2 Barcelona

Barcelona have turned this around - and that's a lovely strike from Fermin Lopez.

A superb, curling effort from 20 yards out finds the bottom corner to give the Spanish forward his second of the night.

  12. Liverpool getting numbers forwardpublished at 20:44 GMT 21 January

    Marseille 0-0 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

A great move again from Liverpool for that Salah chance. They are getting numbers into the box and are not afraid to leave two on two at the back at the other end.

You can hear more from Warnock on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 GMT on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

Chelsea want a goal before the break and Moisés Caicedo lets fly with a powerful one from distance but Jay Gorter dives to push the effort away.

The Blues keep up the attack, however.

  16. Postpublished at 20:42 GMT 21 January

    Marseille 0-0 Liverpool

Liverpool need to make this dominance count. Surely Marseille won't be this poor going forward in the second half.

  17. Postpublished at 20:42 GMT 21 January

    Bayern 0-0 Union SG

Really good chance for Bayern from a corner but Raphael Guerreiro heads over.

The defender is on the receiving end of a few words from Harry Kane after that. The England man was just behind him and felt it should have been left for him,

You certainly would have backed Kane to bury that from about five yards out.

  18. Postpublished at 20:42 GMT 21 January

    Marseille 0-0 Liverpool

    Charlie Adam
Former Liverpool midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Again the Marseille fans are trying to roar the team on, as soon as they win the ball back you can hear the crowd starting to go because if they pass the ball forward quicker, they can get in behind the defence but they're allowing Liverpool to get back into shape.

That's another decent chance for Liverpool. It's been a good half for Arne Slot's side. They look organised and seem comfortable enough but again, it's a performance that is just lacking that bit of class in the final third. At least for now it is...

  20. CLOSE!published at 20:41 GMT 21 January

    Marseille 0-0 Liverpool

Florian Wirtz frees Jeremie Frimpong wide right. He's got time to pick out the near post run of Mo Salah but the Egyptian thighs it over the bar.

    That's a chance.
