    A game of two halves.

First half, I thought we were the best side by far. In the second half you have to be more wary of them.

They grew into the game, they put better balls into the box. Boro will be bitterly disappointed with their second goal, it's a pass they shouldn't be making.

    Bitterly, bitterly disappointing.

Neutral here (Spurs for my sins). We need teams like Millwall, Coventry and Boro in the Premier League, just to mix it up. A-la Brighton, Brentford and Sunderland all making a good go of it. Well done Millwall on that result - we might see you next season! (Cough)

    Nicholas, Knaresborough

A bad result for Boro. But you have to take the chances that are created!! Boro not good enough to go up.

    Danny, New Forest

Millwall have fought back like Lions in the second half.

    Peter, Coventry

The home side were utterly dominant in the first 45 minutes but they could not add to their lead and ultimately paid the price.

And there it is, at the end of a breathless 90 minutes in the north east.

Josh Coburn on his first return to the Riverside puts Millwall second in the table.

And with Ipswich not playing until Monday, the Lions will stay there over Easter.

This is the first time the Lions will end a day in second place in the Championship since 5 August 2022, having played one game.

Have they timed their run to perfection?

Brilliant game! Well done Boro and Millwall for showing everyone how entertaining and exciting the Championship is.

Not sure Boro fans will be feeling this way just now...

The final whistle - a seismic win in the automatic promotion race for Millwall.

Josh Coburn returns to Teesside to inflict a massive blow to Middlesbrough's promotion push.

Dael Fry had given the hosts the lead in a first half the hosts totally dominated.

But what a response from Millwall after the break - two goals from Coburn securing an enormous three points and sending the Lions second in the table.

    Middlesbrough 1-2 Millwall

Millwall bodies on the line to make block after block, an amazing defensive performance.

A Boro ball in is overhit and goes out for a goal-kick and finally some respite for the Lions.

    This could be it.

Boro corner and Sol Brynn is up for it.

They win another, he's still up...

The free-kick is whipped in and there's an almighty scrap before Josh Coburn makes a crucial intervention back in his own box.

Millwall hit on the break and Billy Mitchell blazes over.

Boro have bottled it. Plain and simple. They will be in the championship next season.

    Mitchell, Barnsley

The two games Ipswich have in hand (from what I can see) are Portsmouth and Southampton... both away... so no guaranteed wins. Oh and the little issue of a local derby against Norwich next weekend. And we're not giving up on the play-offs ourselves quite yet!

    Rob, Norwich

Ipswich won't be bothered about Millwall winning today. They would be one win off second as their goal difference is far better.

    Lee, Sussex

  12. INJURY TIMEpublished at 90+1 min

    Middlesbrough 1-2 Millwall

FIVE minutes for Millwall to hang on to the most precious of victories.

As it stands, they're heading to second in the Championship with six games left.

There is a really flat feeling around this ground at the moment.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 88 min

    Middlesbrough 1-2 Millwall

This game has been completely turned on its head and Boro don't have long to rescue it.

Jeremy Sarmiento is coming on for the hosts, Millwall sent Macaulay Langstaff on just before the goal.

Two minutes plus added time to go.

I can't remember seeing so many shots blocked... Millwall really do last-ditch defend well.

    Graham, Somerset

Too many good chances being missed by Boro!! This will prove costly.

It's a beautiful finish into the bottom corner.

We said in first half that they were never in the game. You have to make sure you do things right in the second half and we've just got it wrong there.

    What a finish!

And what a return to Teesside for Josh Coburn.

Barry Bannan plays the ball out to him wide on the left and he cuts inside Luke Ayling before bending a shot into the bottom corner.

    Ice cool from Coburn!

    Middlesbrough 1-1 Millwall

Heart-in-mouth moment for Sol Brynn as he misjudges a deep cross but he's relieved to claw it behind for a corner.

The ball comes in and is headed goalwards by Caleb Taylor but again Brynn gets enough on it and Boro eventually clear the danger.

This game is an exact replica of the Ipswich vs Millwall game a couple of weeks ago. Home side all over Millwall first half and then complete shift change in the second half. If it stays 1-1 then bodes well for Cov and Ipswich.

    Chris, Ipswich

Such mixed feelings this season. Boro closer than I can remember to going up, but could we stay up? Really not sure.

  20. 'Millwall creating dangerous chances'published at 14:10 BST 3 April

Millwall are getting more and more dangerous with these crosses from the right-hand side.

    Anxiety all around the Riverside.
