    Oxford 0-1 Hull City

Mohamed Belloumi is a great talent for Hull City.

The Algerian's had a really rough time with injuries, which started with him suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury at Oxford on 5 November 2024.

He's already got himself a goal today and looks a real threat down the Hull right.

Patson Daka - what a start.

It's a big mistake from Andrew Moran, Daka was onto it in a flash. He still had a little bit to do as he was under pressure.

    Brilliant start for Leicester.

  3. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:06 BST 3 April

    Charlton 0-0 Bristol City

Almost the perfect start to Roy Hodgson's tenure at Bristol City as his side almost take the lead inside three minutes at The Valley, with Emil Riis hitting the post.

Neto Borges played a beautiful ball through for Riis to chase and he decides to take the shot on early, smashing it along the turf into the right upright and behind for a goal kick.

What a gift for relegation threatened Leicester City!

Zambian striker Patson Daka, who missed a penalty in his last match, gets the Foxes off to a perfect start.

He latches on to a dreadful pass back by Andrew Moran, who looks to find goalkeeper Daniel Iversen but instead finds Daka who catches Iversen in no-man's land and passes the ball into an empty net from the edge of the box.

  5. CLOSE!published at 15:04 BST 3 April

    Leicester 0-0 Preston

A really fast start to the game from Preston.

Lewis Dobbin pulls the ball across and looks to find Andrew Moran who would have had a tap in in the middle but the ball misses the midfielder and Leicester get away with an early scare.

One chance, one goal for Hull!

Mo Bellomi comes in off the right with a brilliant first touch on his chest and then his left-footed shot takes a deflection as it flies in.

The Tigers three points off second as it stands!

    The atmosphere here is outstanding.

The home fans are clearly buoyed by their recent run, and the away fans then belt out a rendition of 'there's only one Mickey Thomas' as their club icon walks past the away end.

    Leicester 0-0 Preston

Leicester get us under way at the King Power Stadium.

The Foxes suffered a blow before kick-off as midfielder Jordan James has not recovered from the injury he suffered on international duty and misses out from the 20 man squad entirely with Manchester City loanee Divine Mukasa starting in the only change from the goalless draw with Watford.

There is just one change for Preston too, as Thierry Small replaces Andrija Vukcevic at left wing-back from the 3-1 win against Stoke a fortnight ago.

  9. KICK-OFFpublished at 15:00 BST 3 April

We're off and running in our nine 15:00 BST games in the Championship.

Today's first game brought a huge amount of drama, let's hope for more of the same!

  10. Change in fortunespublished at 14:59 BST 3 April

West Brom v Wrexham (15:00 BST)

    Ian Mitchelmore
BBC Sport Wales at The Hawthorns

Following the meeting between these two sides in August, few could have predicted the two clubs would be in their current positions.

The Baggies looked like a side who would challenge for promotion having earned an impressive 3-2 win at Stok Cae Ras in what was Wrexham's first home game in the second tier in 43 years.

But the fortunes of the two have been remarkably different since then.

Phil Parkinson's men are the side pushing for a top six spot, and, while they have significantly improved over their past four games, West Brom are still fighting to preserve their Championship status.

That said, I don't think a win for either side today would be particularly surprising given what's at stake.

    An intriguing encounter awaits.

Charlton v Bristol City (15:00 BST)

Roy Hodgson's return to the dugout at Bristol City came as a shock to football lovers around the country one week ago and today he takes charge of his first game back with the Robins.

In years gone by, the former England manager's focus would have been on matters on the pitch at Wembley over the last week.

But now, he is focused on arresting the slide at Ashton Gate and ending Bristol City's run of five games without a win.

With 51 points, safety isn't yet fully guaranteed. A victory in London would put all worries to bed straight away and mean Hodgson, 78, can enjoy his swansong at a club he first managed 44 years ago.

  12. Swans travel to Blades in midtable clashpublished at 14:55 BST 3 April

Sheffield United v Swansea (15:00 BST)

Sheffield United host Swansea City this afternoon with the two sides having resembling seasons this term.

The Blades started sluggishly and changed their manager early in the campaign to avoid a relegation fight when Chris Wilder returned in September to replace the sacked Ruben Selles.

Swansea made a change of their own - bringing in head coach Vitor Matos two months later - after the Swans slipped into a dogfight of their own.

Sheffield United are winless in their last four league games and have dropped more points from winning positions than any other Championship team this term, letting slip of 27 points while in the lead.

Today's visitors meanwhile have lost back-to-back games - by an aggregate scoreline of 5-0 - and arrive in South Yorkshire having lost eight of their last nine trips to Bramall Lane.

  13. Opportunity knocks for Owls at punctured Potters?published at 14:53 BST 3 April

Stoke City v Sheff Wed (15:00 BST)

As the ongoing uncertainty around the future of Sheffield Wednesday continues it's hard to make a case for this match being of special importance to the relegated Owls.

Still, it does represent a chance for them to pick up just a second win of the season AND end an EFL-record of 33 consecutive matches in one season without a win.

Today's hosts Stoke have won just two of 13 matches since the run of the year and saw any lingering play-off aspirations ended with a 3-1 loss at Preston last time out.

Boss Mark Robins has made SIX changes from the 11 that started the defeat at Deepdale.

    Leicester v Preston (15:00 BST)

It is quite simply a massive day for Leicester City and their hopes of Championship survival this season.

A goalless draw at Watford, in which Patson Daka was guilty of spurning a first half penalty, left the Foxes in the bottom three with just seven matches left before the international break arrived.

Their Easter weekend - which also includes a trip to Sheffield Wednesday on Monday - starts with a home game against Preston North End who are sat comfortably away from the relegation zone but proving no threat to the play-off places either.

Gary Rowett will be targetting two wins in the next four days then, but will have to improve on a recent record of just one win from their previous 13 league games and will have to deal with in-form Preston striker Milutin Osmajic.

After scoring in the Lilywhites' 3-1 win against Stoke a fortnight ago, the Montenegrin scored three goals in two games during the international break.

  15. Rovers boss O'Neill returns to club actionpublished at 14:49 BST 3 April

    Birmingham v Blackburn (15:00 BST)

It has hardly been an international "break" for Blackburn Rovers boss Michael O'Neill.

The 56-year-old took charge of his first Northern Ireland games since taking over at Ewood Park last month as they were knocked out of the World Cup qualifying play-off semi-finals by Italy before a 1-1 friendly draw with Wales.

O'Neill has overseen an improvement in Blackburn's performances of late and four points from their last two matches has pushed them up to 19th with just seven Championship games left.

Rovers have been better on the road this season than at home - picking up 56% of their points away from Ewood Park - with only already relegated Sheffield Wednesday earning a higher share of their points away this term (58%).

Hosts Birmingham have settled well in their first season back in the Championship following promotion last year but four defeats from their past six matches has seen hopes of making the play-offs tail off having been unbeaten in their previous eight.

Blues came from a goal down to beat Blackburn 2-1 in the reverse fixture back in August and are aiming for their first league double over today's opposition since 1950-51.

  16. Struggling Pompey visit flying Canariespublished at 14:47 BST 3 April

    Norwich v Portsmouth (15:00 BST)

    John MousinhoImage source, Shutterstock

On 31 January these two sides sat in 19th and 20th place in the Championship respectively and were separated by goal difference alone.

    Now?

Norwich are 14 points and 11 places better off than beleaguered Portsmouth and still just about retain faint hopes of gatecrashing the top six.

Pompey's wretched run was exacerbated with a 6-1 demolition at QPR before the international break but boss John Mousinho believes he still has the backing of the club's board.

Perhaps not hugely surprising given the nature of that loss in the capital, the away side have made five changes to their 11.

  17. Can Hornets make late play-off dash?published at 14:45 BST 3 April

    QPR v Watford (15:00 BST)

Despite a season of consistent inconsistency, Watford remain just within striking distance to land a late sting in the race to the play-offs.

With seven games to go, the Hornets sit seven points and three places below sixth-placed Southampton.

With Saints, Wrexham and Derby County all in good form above them, a win today at Loftus Road will be imperative if they are going to keep up the pressure.

They face a QPR side who come into the game on the back of two wins, including a 6-1 demolition of Portsmouth last time out.

  18. Will Baggies continue resurgence under Morrison?published at 14:43 BST 3 April

West Brom v Wrexham (15:00 BST)

This will be the first time these old clubs have ever faced each other in a league game at The Hawthorns.

Both teams come into the game needing three points for very different reasons, with the visitors looking upwards at the play-offs and the hosts' gaze over their shoulders.

The Baggies are enjoying a resurgence under James Morrison, with two draws and two wins following defeat in their legendary former player's first game in charge.

A win for Wrexham would lift them above Southampton and into the top six ahead of their meeting in north Wales on Tuesday.

A home win could put seven points between the Baggies and the bottom three today, should Leicester City and Oxford United lose to Preston North End and Hull City, respectively.

  19. Yellows and Tigers looking to handle pressurepublished at 14:41 BST 3 April

Oxford v Hull City (15:00 BST)

    Hull City playersImage source, Shutterstock

Two teams in need of points for very different reasons.

Oxford's run of 10 points in four games gave their hopes of staying in the division a major shot in the arm but the 2-0 defeat at in-form Southampton before the international break means they've spent the past fortnight in the relegation zone.

Hull went into the break off the back of a 3-1 win over relegated Sheffield Wednesday to keep hold of fifth place but they're just three points better off than seventh-placed Wrexham.

Nobody in the second tier has won more away games this campaign than the Tigers' 10.

Sergej Jakirovic makes five alterations from the side that started the win over the Owls.
