Ryan Stirk gets caught out on the ball and then it's the ability to counter-attack quickly [for Notts].

There's not much to pick out but then it's just about hitting the target.

One big chance in that first half for Chesterfield and it came from the penalty spot, but Lee Bonis could not convert.

Pretty much all of the xG the Spireites managed was from that.

It's advantage Notts County.

Notts County grew into the game after the opening penalty miss. It's been a little bit bitty, but we're only a quarter of the way through.

Paul Cook will want a bit more in terms of dominating possession and getting the ball in the wide areas I think.

A very cagey first half but it is Notts County who lead at the break through their only shot of the game.

Chesterfield had a golden opportunity to go in front after just six minutes when Liam Mandeville was brought down in the area by Lucas Ness.

But Lee Bonis smashed his penalty against the post and the hosts were punished 22 minutes later when Jayden Luker slid in at the far post after good work by Tom Iorpenda.

There hasn't been a shot in the game since that goal.

Three minutes added on at the end of the first half.

Chesterfield have not had a shot since the sixth minute.

The shot? Lee Bonis' missed penalty which bounced out off the base of the post.

County winger Jodi Jones with the most blatant push you will see with two hands into the back of Sam Curtis.

And now Jones has a yellow card as well as Curtis. Those two will have to tread a little more carefully now in that battle out wide.

Not a great deal in the way of goalmouth action since Notts County's opener.

In fact, nothing in the way of goalmouth action. Not a single shot since Jayden Luker slid the visitors ahead 14 minutes ago.

At the minute it's the Notts fans on the far side who are making the noise.

As we know, there's plenty more twist and turns from here on in.

Armando Dobra has tried to soldier on for Chesterfield after landing awkwardly a little earlier and hurting his shoulder.

But he can play no further part and looks very disappointed as he storms straight down the tunnel.

Will Dickson is on to replace the former Ipswich man.

First yellow card of the game goes to Chesterfield right-back Sam Curtis for a coming together with Jodi Jones.

Play had gone on but the referee comes back to it after the County move breaks down.

How will Chesterfield respond? They've beaten Notts County in their past three meetings.

The hosts have got a free-kick midway inside the Magpies half.

The Notts County fans are in good voice after that opener. It's 11 years since they were last in League One.

They have taken one very small baby step with that opening goal.

It's good work initially from Jatta and Luker was lurking at the far post.

It looked like Ryan Boot got a good hand on it but he only managed to shove it into the back of the net.

Boot had no chance with it and it's 1-0 Notts County.

Chesterfield boss Paul Cook takes the opportunity of the break in play to have a word with his players.

Cook has taken charge of four EFL play-off campaigns before but is yet to win promotion from them. He will really want to end that record in the next couple of weeks.

Back under way again but Armando Dobra is still being checked over.

Alassana Jatta times his run forward well for Notts County to and has some space to attack on the left hand side.

But he cannot pick out a green shirt in the middle and the move breaks down.

Just the two so far for Chesterfield and one of those was from the penalty spot but Lee Bonis could only find the upright.

Safe to say that is by far the biggest chance of the game up to this point.
