A strength of Chelsea's in the first part of this game is getting bodies in and around the box. You've got bodies running across the box and in and around the keeper.

The biggest thing is the composure and awareness that you have a bit more time - it just shows how much this Chelsea team wants it.

Arsenal defended well, soaked up the pressure and created a few chances on the counter.

Chelsea would have been happy with the way that they started the game, the intensity and pressure in the first 20-25 minutes. Then they dipped off, tried to play a bit longer. They need to be a bit braver.

Chelsea captain Erin Cuthbert had a brief word with referee Frida Klarlund after the half‑time whistle. It was impossible to hear what she said, but her gesture appeared to urge the referee to speed things up, with Arsenal using stoppages to frustrate both Chelsea’s players and the home crowd.

I think Chelsea came out the fastest and might be a little disappointed not to be 3-0 up at half-time, They had some really great chances.

That desire and want to get on the end of a cross or want to score a goal is not there. They're not being ruthless enough.

Lauren James has been taking it by the scruff of the neck. She's everywhere. She's constantly on the ball, scanning all the time, passing, wanting to be on the ball and create something out of nothing. That has been key for Chelsea.

Manchester United

Manchester United boss Marc Skinner speaking to Disney+: "If I'm being really honest, we've got 45 minutes of really high-level football and the second half, it's just down to fatigue and tiredness. They've not stopped running. They were doing everything they can.

"Bayern rested seven [players] at the weekend and then came into this game fresh. You could see energy was the difference. I'm not going to make excuses, you could see it. We knew how to beat Bayern in the first half and we couldn't do it quick enough in the second half. That was the difference.

"When you run the legs out, you start making decisions, you open up spaces and Bayern can attack you. Brilliant defending, great saves and to lose it on two set pieces is disappointing which is something attributed to fatigue and concentration.

"The one disappointment I have from this is if we had our freshness and our fit players we could have gone toe-to-toe with them and really changed the second half.

"I'll never know but what I've said to the team is we have three games left in the league and if you win those three games you can experience the Champions League again next year. That's on us to be able to do that."

On how much the team have taken from their debut Champions League season: "Nobody had us getting out of the group stage. From our perspective, we as a club need to design latter stage tournament conversations about squad size, experience. We have to do it. We will learn from it."

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich midfielder Georgia Stanway speaking to Disney+: "That's Champions League football. It's just a matter of who puts the ball in the net. It doesn't actually matter who is the better team. But today we really deserved it. In the away leg we put up a really good fight but overall we deserve this result.

"Everyone is super important but it's the people who find the pockets. That's where we got the joy today. It's not an individual, it's everybody working as a collective on the rotations and making sure we got in the pocket space."

On thinking about the semi-finals: "Of course it's in the back of our mind but the most important thing was to get the job done today. It's difficult to be in a winning position because you know it's in your favour. You can't get complacent and let things get to you.

"As soon as we scored the first goal we had to be urgent and keep the energy high because as soon as you step off the gas you don't know what's going to happen."

On soaking up the atmosphere in her final season with Bayern: "Totally. It's emotional. I have absolutely loved my time here. I think it's been if not, the best decision of my life, my career. Moments like this I'll never forget and I think Bayern deserve moments like this."

Manchester United

More from Manchester United captain Maya Le Tissier, speaking to Disney+: "We've had a lot of injuries and I'm sure the injured girls would have wanted to be here tonight. We wanted to put on a performance for them.

"First time in the Champions League and we get half of the starting 11 injured. It's no excuse. We fight for each other, we roll our sleeves up when things get tough.

"Every player that has stepped in - maybe they didn't think they would get a look in at the start of the season and now they're playing in Munich in a quarter-final. So hats off to everyone but of course we're disappointed."

Earlier on, Manchester United's European adventure ended with a 2-1 loss at Bayern Munich, with the Germans winning their quarter-final 5-3 on aggregate.

In truth, not loads has happened and Arsenal will be delighted by that! Chelsea started well and Alyssa Thompson missed a few good chances but for the past half an hour, Arsenal have just killed the tempo and any momentum that Chelsea tried to build.

The Chelsea midfield need to get involved a bit more, come and give the defence and Hampton a hand. They can't just keep away all the time, come and get involved.

There's the whistle and it has been a job well done for Arsenal so far.

It doesn't look like Catley is comfortable there. She was holding her calf. Maybe she felt something as the play progressed?

Arsenal may be forced into a first change before half-time as Steph Catley seems to have an issue with her calf.

Lucy Bronze slides in and looks to have been caught late by Olivia Smith, but the referee says it is an Arsenal throw-in instead of a Chelsea foul. Nothing comes of the throw-in, so it doesn't really matter.

Arsenal get a free-kick in a central position 25 yards out after Kadeisha Buchanan trips an away player. The free-kick is nudged to Katie McCabe and she hits it with power but can't find a way through the Chelsea wall.
