  3. Postpublished at 13:50 GMT 24 January

    Millwall 1-0 Charlton

Millwall have reached the hour mark on top but not home and hosed. They are heading fourth as it stands but definitely need that second goal.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 13:49 GMT 24 January

    Middlesbrough 4-0 Preston

Preston attempt to put a finger in the dam.

    It is a triple change.

Mads Frokjaer-Jensen, Jordan Thompson and Thierry Small are on.

    Good luck lads.

Ben Whiteman, Alfie Devine and Lewis Dobbin probably do not mind getting the hook.

    Neil Maddison
Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Tees

I tell you what they lack Preston, is pace in their side.

  6. 'The floodgates are well and truly open'published at 13:46 GMT 24 January

    Middlesbrough 4-0 Preston

    Mark Drury
    BBC Tees commentator

The floodgates are well and truly open.

That is what centre-forwards do, anticipate that the 'keeper is going to drop it.

Conway's day just gets better and better.

He has two this afternoon, one in each half.

'Stand up if you love Boro' echoing around the ground now.

  7. goal

GOAL: Middlesbrough 4-0 Prestonpublished at 13:45 GMT 24 January

    Tommy Conway (54 mins)

Stop the ride, Preston want to get off.

Leo Castledine's free-kick is on target but hardly difficult and all Jack Walton can do is palm it into the path of the onrushing Tommy Conway who cannot miss.

His second, Boro's fourth and this could get messy for the 10 men from Lancashire.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 13:44 GMT 24 January

    Millwall 1-0 Charlton

It is a TRIPLE change for Charlton, so four in 10 minutes or so.

On: Conor Coventry, Reece Burke, Charlie Kelman

Off: Macaulay Gillesphey, Karoy Anderson, Sonny Carey

  9. Postpublished at 13:43 GMT 24 January

    Middlesbrough 3-0 Preston

That is a second successive red card for Preston with Jordan Storey joining Milutin Osmajic from Tuesday on the naughty step.

So now two suspensions for North End which will stretch their squad.

Is their season imploding on Teesside?

Boro fans are having a party by the way.

  10. Postpublished at 13:43 GMT 24 January

    Millwall 1-0 Charlton

That reprieve has shaken Nathan Jones into life. The Charlton manager is readying a host of changes.

  11. 'The sending off is all Storey's own doing'published at 13:42 GMT 24 January

    Middlesbrough 3-0 Preston

    Neil Maddison
Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Tees

The sending off is all Storey's own doing.

I feel that Storey caused his own problems, he turned into Conway.

The high line is not helping anything for Preston and yet they are still playing high.

  12. 'Preston's day goes from bad to awful'published at 13:40 GMT 24 January

    Middlesbrough 3-0 Preston

    Mark Drury
    BBC Tees commentator

Preston's day goes from bad to awful as Preston lose Jordan Storey to a straight red card.

He turns into Conway who is already heading towards goal.

They have 40 minutes still to go with Boro having a man advantage.

  13. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 13:40 GMT 24 January

    Millwall 1-0 Charlton

Ahhh - the decision is correct as Millwall have a second ruled out.

Alfie Doughty whips in an incredible first time cross that seemed to bend time, Femi Azeez met it with a bullet header, but he was just offside.

  14. RED CARDpublished at 13:40 GMT 24 January

    Middlesbrough 3-0 Preston

Preston have not learned their lesson.

Jordan Storey is shown a red card.

The defender is caught in possession by Tommy Conway and hauls the Middlesbrough striker to the ground.

Referee Andy Madley has no option but to send him off.

    Game well and truly over.

  15. Postpublished at 13:37 GMT 24 January

    Middlesbrough 3-0 Preston

Lewis Dobbin goes on a fine run for Preston from the halfway line but his pass to Daniel Jebbison lets him down and it goes behind for a goal kick.

Almost an exact replay of how the first period started.

  16. CLOSE!published at 13:36 GMT 24 January

    Millwall 1-0 Charlton

Femi Azeez has been different class for Millwall. He so nearly has a deserved goal but thrashes a shot low and wide from about 22 yards out.

Preston were sent out a good couple of minutes early for the second period.

There were in-depth conversations still going on between players but it is difficult to see a way back and it may be a case of damage limitation.

How hungry are Middlesbrough to stack up the goals?

  18. KICK-OFFpublished at 13:34 GMT 24 January

    Championship

Middlesbrough are laying down a marker.

Millwall could be taking Saturday's bragging rights.

Off we go for the second 45.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:33 GMT 24 January

    Millwall 1-0 Charlton

Luke Chambers' Charlton debut has lasted 45 minutes as the wing-back comes off at the break. Ibrahim Fullah is the man coming on.

Is three the magic number for Middlesbrough today?

Three goals up at the break and Boro are cruising towards three points - and in doing so, the gap is now just three points to leaders Coventry as things stand, who play at Norwich on Monday night.

Millwall are up into fourth, while Preston are starting to lose ground.
