There were alarm bells ringing after the loss to Bournemouth.

That was the one where everyone thought blimey, Arsenal have really let Manchester City back in.

I don't think Arsenal are as bad as people are making out. They are top of the Premier League for a reason, they're flying in the Champions League.

They just need to hold their nerve.

Last month Arsenal fans were asking: "Will we win the quadruple?".

Now the talk has switched to: "Will we win one trophy?".

The jitters have well and truly set in after three defeats in four games at the business end of the season.

A sensational Premier League-Champions League double is still within reach but the Gunners cannot afford too many more slip ups like they experienced against Bournemouth last weekend.

"We are trying to do something that has not been done in the history of the club [winning a league and Champions League double] so that shows you the difficulty," said boss Mikel Arteta at his pre-match news conference on Tuesday.

Martin Odegaard has had a broken season due to multiple shoulder and knee injuries.

The Gunners captain missed the defeat to Bournemouth at the weekend after playing in Arsenal's 1-0 win over Sporting in the first leg of this tie and has confirmed in his programme notes that he has an issue with his knee.

"I had to go off during the second half of that game in Portugal last week, feeling my knee, which is why I missed the game at the weekend. I caught it a little bit against Sporting, but hopefully it shouldn’t be too bad," he said.

The only way that Mikel Arteta will get pure fire from the players is if he takes the shackles off and tells them to stop playing side to side. It's still Arsenal's to lose in the Champions League and the Premier League.

Arsenal's players probably do need that fire from the manager.

Mikel Arteta is full of energy, full of fire. He's trying to fire up the fans, trying to fire up the players because he knows how hard it is to win a Premier League, to win a Champions League.

There is no sign yet of the pure "fire" that Mikel Arteta has called for from the fans. I suppose it is early in the evening yet.

Bukayo Saka is set to miss tonight’s Champions League quarter-final versus Sporting which raises questions over his availability for the Premier League tie against Manchester City on Sunday.

Saka is suffering with an Achilles injury, an issue he has been carrying for a while.

Meanwhile, Declan Rice is expected to be available tonight despite missing open training on Tuesday. Cristian Mosquera is expected to play at right-back with Jurrien Timber still unavailable through injury, while Piero Hincapie should return at left-back.

    Champions League

A big game for Arsenal to get back on track and perhaps silence some of the critics.

They are now the last remaining English club in the competition.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich were dominant last week in their first leg against Real Madrid. But with a slim one-goal advantage, will they be made to rue their missed opportunities?

  18. Hello!published at 18:32 BST 15 April

The last two of our quarter-final matches take place tonight after Paris St-Germain and Atletico Madrid made it through last night ahead of Liverpool and Barcelona, respectively.

Arsenal have got a huge night in store. Defeat in the Premier League at the weekend has left many questioning whether they will actually win the league, or indeed anything, this season.

A win tonight against Sporting could settle some nerves. While, of course, booking that coveted Champions League semi-final spot.

Bayern Munich host 15-time champions Real Madrid at the Allianz with a slender 2-1 lead having been on top for much of the first leg. Will it be a straightforward night for the Bundesliga champions?
