    Boro work a clever short corner routine before Matt Targett slides an excellent ball through for Morgan Whittaker to finish from close range, slotting beneath Saints keeper Gavin Bazunu.

    The long wait for a goal is over for Kim Hellberg's side and they're moving into the top two as things stand.

    Southampton went close moments ago. Adam Armstrong inside the box but his shot was blocked at close range.

    Blackburn are searching for an equaliser and have started brightly in the second half.

    They've won a free-kick which Todd Cantwell curls into the box but it fails to test Charlton's back line.

    What a debut Adilson Malanda is having for Middlesbrough.

    He makes yet another crucial block to deny Adam Armstrong and Southampton what looked for all the world to be the opener.

    A well worked move by the Saints as a blocked shot eventually fell the way of Armstrong, who is thwarted. Malanda celebrates the block like a goal.

    It has been pretty even.

    Both teams have had their moments, Southampton's chance through Tom Fellows has definitely been the best of them though.

    Both teams have been left open a bit.

    Finn Azaz has been the main threat.

    Derby levelled after Ben Brereton Diaz's goal cancelled out Sam Smith's opener for Wrexham.

    Charlie Kelman's double gives Charlton the upper hand against Blackburn.

    Tom Fellows perhaps with the best of the lot for Southampton after he was played in behind by ex-Boro man Finn Azaz but fired over the bar from eight yards.

    That clinical edge is needed in the second half. Can either side find it?

    Twice he denied Ivanovic before the goal and also pulled off saves from Macaulay Langstaff, Camiel Neghli and Femi Azeez.

    Ronald and Ben Cabango had late efforts saved by Max Crocombe as the visitors finally found a cutting edge.
