Everyone wants to be the star man at Real Madrid, but no one wants to do the dirty work. They need a Kante type to make the team gel.

The noise inside the BayArena is coming from the travelling Newcastle fans.

They're having the time of their lives in that away end. Oh, how they'd love a second goal.

  4. goal

    GOAL - Club Brugge 0-3 Arsenalpublished at 21:16 GMT 10 December 2025

    Gabriel Martinelli

Arsenal are a joy to watch when they play like this!

Another beautiful finish - this time from the boot of Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli.

It's the change in pace that does the Club Brugge defence and Martinelli is left in acres of space to line up a shot from outside the box.

He bends it past the keeper who is left grasping at thin air.

The Gunners are turning on the style.

    Real Madrid 1-2 Man City

That's a clumsy challenge by Federico Valverde right by the corner flag. No punishment for the Real Madrid captain, though.

Arsenal don't want to be inviting Club Brugge onto things. They only need to put one in and they're back in it.

    Club Brugge 0-2 Arsenal

No doubt about it, that second goal has knocked the stuffing out of Club Brugge. The crowd is quiet and the visitors are closing in on six wins out of six in Europe.

  8. Gordon steps up on big stagepublished at 21:14 GMT 10 December 2025

    Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Newcastle

    Ciaran Kelly
    BBC Sport reporter

That's Anthony Gordon's fifth goal in the Champions League this season - and it may be the Newcastle United forward's most significant.

Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Mark Flekken presented Newcastle with an early Christmas gift after messing around at the back.

    And Gordon took full advantage.

Arsenal playing with a CM that doesn't normally even get on the pitch at centre-back with second choice left-back and right-back, their best midfielder missing and Saka on the bench and are still winning away in the Champions League. I can't grasp the need to put them down for the performance, honestly.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:13 GMT 10 December 2025

    Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Newcastle

Worth noting that Aleix Garcia was shown a yellow card for protesting a bit too much after Newcastle's penalty was given.

    Real Madrid 1-2 Man City

Ooooh. That could have gone anywhere.

Rayan Cherki tries to find a way through and it takes a little deflection but Thibaut Courtois manages to keep hold of the ball - a nervy one.

  12. Postpublished at 21:13 GMT 10 December 2025

    Club Brugge 0-2 Arsenal

Those two goals by Noni Madueke could not have been more different.

One was an outrageous finish, the other was a point-blank range header.

Watch them both on BBC One's Champions League highlights show from 22:40 GMT. Or if you cannot wait until then, highlights will appear on the BBC Sport website from 22:00.

Anthony Gordon made a beeline for those travelling Newcastle fans after he powered home the penalty.

Absolute limbs in that away end.

  14. 'Bellingham gets it terribly wrong'published at 21:12 GMT 10 December 2025

    Real Madrid 1-2 Man City

    Jonathan Woodgate
Former Real Madrid defender on BBC Radio 5 Live at Bernabeu

It was the wrong finish for me. Federico Valverde slips Jude Bellingham in.

Jude could have gone under the keeper - it doesn't need the dink. He gets it terribly wrong.

  15. Postpublished at 21:12 GMT 10 December 2025

    Real Madrid 1-2 Man City

Brilliant defending from Alvaro Carreras, winning the ball back from Phil Foden deep in his own half. He rides a couple of challenges and releases Vinicius Jr, it comes to Jude Bellingham on the other side but the England man tries to lob Gianluigi Donnarumma but sends it over the bar.

That is brilliant from Woltemade. It looked like there was absolutely nothing going and he's just tried to force Flekken into taking. What on earth is he doing?

There was a meeting of (great) minds just before the start of the second half when Erling Haaland was having a chinwag with Vinicius Jr.

"You got your Christmas shopping done mate?

    "Nah, you?"

    "Nah."
