    Arsenal 1-0 Man City

Olivia Smith looks like she's stolen a march behind the City defence yet again but Jade Rose gets back brilliantly to nick the ball off her toes before she can get a shot away.

    West Ham 0-1 Brighton

Brighton lead at the break thanks to Kiko Seike's lofted effort. This result is taking West Ham bottom as it stands, they have 45 minutes to fix it.

  3. CLOSE!published at 12:45 GMT 8 February

    Arsenal 1-0 Man City

Russo gets up the highest in the middle to nod the resulting corner at goal, forcing Yamashita to tip over the bar.

    Arsenal 1-0 Man City

Ouch, that's a sore one for City defender Jade Rose.

In attempting to stop Alessia Russo from shooting inside the box she caught a swift kick to the shin, as Ayaka Yamashita was required to rescue at the last with a sharp save.

Plenty of 'ooos' and 'ahhs' from the home fans as Arsenal continue to purr in attack.

You start to wonder at what stage they will regret not capitalising on this dominance if they continue to dominate without scoring a second.

After all, City will kick into gear at some point won't they?

  6. goal

GOAL - Liverpool 2-1 Aston Villapublished at 12:41 GMT 8 February

    Out of absolutely nowhere!

Liverpool can't clear their lines under pressure from Aston Villa and Kirsty Hanson snatches the ball down the right-hand side.

She dinks a cross to the edge of the box and Miri Taylor lashes an effort into the top corner.

  7. goal

GOAL - West Ham 0-1 Brightonpublished at 40 mins

    Kiko Seike

Brighton take the lead and Kiko Seike gets the goal. It is a long ball forwards from Moeka Minami and with home goalkeeper Kinga Szemik off her line, Seike has the composure to lob the ball over Szemik and into the net.

That's Seike's sixth goal of the season in the WSL.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 12:39 GMT 8 February

    Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa

Aston Villa's Lucy Parker is the first player to go into the book. She tugs Ceri Holland's shirt.

Her frustration with Holland is reasonable. She has absolutely torn up the right side of Villa's defence today.

  9. Postpublished at 12:39 GMT 8 February

    London City Lionesses 0-0 Everton

A rare attack from Everton and Inma Gabarro fires the ball goalwards from a tight angle, but home goalkeeper Elene Lete shows good handling to catch the strike.

  10. SAVEpublished at 12:39 GMT 8 February

    Arsenal 1-0 Man City

Khadija Shaw finally forces Daphne van Domselaar into action after making space for a shot on the top left corner of the area.

Though the keeper need only bend down and pick up the ball as a deflection takes all the pace off it.

I wouldn't write off this City team yet.

    They've been prolific all season.

It's early days, and the players on this pitch can change the game any second.

  12. Postpublished at 12:37 GMT 8 February

    Arsenal 1-0 Man City

Caitlin Foord has Kerstin Casparij's number at the minute, though the Dutch defender did just pull off a fantastic sliding tackle to prevent the Aussie winger from getting another cross in.

Arsenal look to try again from the corner but play is called back for a foul in the six yard box.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 12:37 GMT 8 February

    London City Lionesses 0-0 Everton

Another great chance for London City Lionesses with Isobel Goodwin getting there to head at the goal and the ball is dipping under the crossbar until Courtney Brosnan leaps superbly to push it over the top.

  14. Postpublished at 12:36 GMT 8 February

    Arsenal 1-0 Man City

Daphne van Domselaar has not had a save to make yet in the Arsenal goal, meanwhile at the other end it's a shooting exercise for the Gunners.

Katie McCabe is the latest to try her luck from distance as she crashes a shot into the advertising boards a couple of yards wide of City goal.

  15. Postpublished at 12:32 GMT 8 February

    London City Lionesses 0-0 Everton

Another chance for London City Lionesses, who are dominating without finding the breakthrough. The latest opportunity drops for Jana Fernandez, but she fires hard and low just wide of goal.

  16. Postpublished at 12:31 GMT 8 February

    Arsenal 1-0 Man City

    Alex Brotherton
BBC Sport journalist at Emirates Stadium

That runaway WSL leaders Manchester City have so far largely been limited to counter-attacks says a lot about Arsenal's performance.

The Gunners look comfortable in possession and are disrupting City's build-up with a well-organised press.

    Arsenal 1-0 Man City

Lauren Hemp on the ballImage source, Getty Images

Lauren Hemp had a quiet opening half an hour until a moment ago when she dodged left and right to evade Emily Fox before crossing a decent ball into the middle.

City need to try to get her and Kerolin on the opposite flank involved more. It's far too easy for the Arsenal back line at the moment.

  18. Postpublished at 12:31 GMT 8 February

    West Ham 0-0 Brighton

West Ham are sloppy in possession and gift it to Brighton's Maisie Symonds but her 30-yard effort does not have the required power to cause serious problems for home keeper Kinga Szemik.

  19. Postpublished at 12:30 GMT 8 February

    Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa

A rare attack from the visitors as Kirsty Hanson carries the ball into the Liverpool third, but Villa take too long to shift it about and the hosts quickly recover.

Liverpool have been excellent in attack, but their defence has also been solid.

The pass of the season from Caldentey. It shows the lack of true pace in City's central defence.

    Dave, London

In fairness Dave, you'd have to go very far to find a defender able to keep up with Olivia Smith when she gets going. She's lightning fast.
