  4. 'This win gives us confidence'published at 16:52 GMT 8 February

    FT: Tottenham 0-2 Chelsea

    Chelsea

More from Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor speaking to BBC Two: "When you are playing and you're not 100% free to play your game, when you score, it boosts your confidence and gives you the extra motivation to go for more. The difference in this game was us being able to score the first goal.

"We worked a lot on set pieces and we are happy because we are able to score in that part of the game which is really important. The first goal in this game was decisive. We are working a lot in meetings and on the pitch to help the players to understand their role, what we want to do, our combinations. It's good to score when you are working on something and it works.

"People tell me I need to show my emotion more so it's great, especially after these difficult days.

"The last few days I've been speaking about the squad depth, probably with my language I didn't deliver what I wanted to say but when you have young players who can come in and perform it's important for their experience. As the Chelsea manager I am happy to give the youngsters the opportunities to come in. We finished the game with quite a lot which is good because we stayed strong, we didn't concede, and good experience for them.

"The future is bright for us. The noise around Chelsea was big but we are still in four competitions and fighting for many things. This win will give us some confidence. We know sometimes we are not performing at our best level. It happens. We want to make sure that we fix that and bring the solutions to the table to make us a better team.

"It's important to enjoy when you win games."

  5. 'I'm gutted for the players'published at 16:50 GMT 8 February

    FT: Tottenham 0-2 Chelsea

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Martin Ho speaking to the BBC: "I'm disappointed for the players. In the first half we had to suffer without the ball, they are a good team and they push you back, but I thought we defended the box quite well even though they created some other chances.

"I thought we had numerous good chances in the first half. We moved the ball well, we broke well and then when we had some moments of sustained possession we created. In these tight games against top teams when you get half or full chances one or two of them need to go in to get a foothold.

"We didn't manage to score and then they score off a set play which we are disappointed about, and then they get another so soon in the second half which we didn't want. From then they are experienced enough team to manage the game."

"I asked for an honest performance, a high level and to play the way we want to play, and they gave everything and did that for large parts. You also know Chelsea are a wonderful team and they will create."

On the second half drop off: "Going into half time I thought we were good in terms of going back out, and we started the second half quite well. Once the second goal it deflated us a little bit, because you know you have done so well up to that point of 50 minutes and then to concede so soon after half time is deflating. I'm gutted for the players because in the first half I thought we were really good."

On being more clinical: "It's that ruthless edge. In these games when the ball drops you need to take them. We had numerous chances and they have to go in, if they do go in then you can be more brave with the ball to push them back because they need to go in."

  6. 'We don't want to be a Chelsea team who bow down'published at 16:48 GMT 8 February

    FT: Tottenham 0-2 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Erin Cuthbert speaking to BBC Two: "Relief. It's been a tough couple of weeks, an experience that some of us haven't been used to. Over the nine or ten years I've been here, we've had moments like this. It's going to be like this; the league's getting better and we've played against two top teams who probably beat us quite convincingly.

"It was back to the drawing board this week, regrouping, and thinking about how we show ourselves this week .We didn't want to be a Chelsea team who bow down game after game, that's not what we're about, that's not what we're built upon. When you see blocking every ball and sprinting and chasing the ball, from the very first minute we were on it. It was a difficult first 20 minutes, we got quite lucky to be honest. But you're going to need a bit of luck to get out of a hole."

Chelsea midfielder Erin Cuthbert speaking to BBC Two: "There's been a lot of noise. It's hard to block it out and focus on your team. In weeks like this you have to remember that the most important people, the people that can change the situation are the team and your staff.

"The fans are entitled to their opinion. We want to change things as much as they do. We've got to try and block it out. The players and the team are what matters. And this week we got it right.

"It hurts me deep. I've not been able to sleep properly. It affects me. It's a top team in our dressing room. Sometimes for some reason we forget how to play football. The quality that I'm seeing in training is not translating into the game.

"It's trying to give everyone confidence as we all want the best for everyone, we all want to succeed."

  8. 'As humans, we feel the pressure'published at 16:45 GMT 8 February

Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor speaking to BBC Two: "Sometimes people forget. Because you are Chelsea, people expect you to win every game. And we are humans. We had some tough days. Today instead of speaking we just showed on the pitch that we deserved to win. That's the most important thing.

"It was not easy, I'm really proud of my players because they were able to bounce back and the performance we put on the pitch was good enough for us to win the game.

"When you are not winning - especially when you are Chelsea - the pressure is high. We are used to that, but as humans we do feel the pressure. Not saying we are weak, but sometimes you're confidence needs to be high if you want to perform at your best level.

"You can be one of the best teams in the world in terms of technical, tactical aspects, but if mentally you struggle a little bit you are not the same player on the pitch and it changes a lot. We are trying our best, we are professionals, we are working hard. I liked the reaction of players in training this week and that's the only thing we can control and do."

  9. 'The right way to bounce back is to win'published at 16:42 GMT 8 February

    Fara Williams
Former England midfielder on BBC Two

The Chelsea players have all been at the club for such a long and they have all been so used to winning. They have had these blips in the past and overcome them.

Teams are getting stronger, the league is getting more competitive, but the pressure is far greater on Chelsea than any other team.

As a player the pressure can weigh heavy on you, and maybe for some of them it is at the moment, but the right way to bounce back is to win.

Chelsea midfielder Sjoeke Nusken speaking to BBC Two: "Today was a massive team performance. From the beginning we were there and we wanted to be straight there after such a bad result. We are back to winning ways. We did a good performance today and we will keep going on.

"We know the situation right now it's difficult, but we want to fight for every single game. That's Chelsea - we want to win everything.

"Tottenham is a good team, they had good situations, but we put bodies on the line to defend everything. This is our mentality and it was a good second half with a lot of energy."

On her part in the second goal: "I saw Erin with the ball and I knew she looks up and would see me so I tried the run and it was the perfect ball."

On whether her performance shows she should start: "That's a good question, you need to ask the manager. I try my best I'm always happy when I'm playing and I will always give everything for Chelsea."

  11. 'Much needed for Chelsea'published at 16:36 GMT 8 February

    FT: Tottenham 0-2 Chelsea

    Fara Williams
Former England midfielder on BBC Two

Chelsea needed a performance and result today. The opening 30-35 minutes they still had a hangover from the Arsenal and Man City results, but after they got the goal they grew into the game. In the end it was a performance and result that was much needed.

  12. 'A huge result for Chelsea'published at 16:33 GMT 8 February

    FT: Tottenham 0-2 Chelsea

    Ellen White
Former England striker on BBC Two

Chelsea had a lot more intensity, fluidity and togetherness in the second half.

I'm sure there were some words at half time and we saw that change as well with Potter coming on for Walsh, and then a number of further changes to freshen up the team.

They created a few more chances and maybe they will be disappointed to have not scored a few more goals, but ultimately it was about getting three points. They did not want to go three back to back to back losses, so this was a huge result for them.

  13. 'This is the competition we wanted'published at 16:29 GMT 8 February

    FT: Tottenham 0-2 Chelsea

    Fara Williams
Former England midfielder on BBC Two

Chelsea have been at the top for a long time, and what this season shows is that the teams around them, Man City and Arsenal have finally invested.

This is the competition we wanted, the league we wanted, with the likes of City and Arsenal pushing Chelsea and trying to knock them off the top spot.

  14. 'Tottenham didn't put chances away'published at 16:26 GMT 8 February

    FT: Tottenham 0-2 Chelsea

    Gilly Flaherty
Former Chelsea defender on BBC Two

For Tottenham it is about being consistent and getting those results against the big teams. As we saw in the first half it is about putting the chances away which they didn't manage to do. They will take belief and confidence going forward and will try to pick up as many points along the way.

Both sets of players gather in a huddle on the pitch after the final whistle.

But the mood in the Chelsea and Tottenham camps couldn’t be more different at the moment.

  16. 'A tale of two completely different Chelsea teams'published at 16:20 GMT 8 February

    FT: Tottenham 0-2 Chelsea

    Gilly Flaherty
Former Chelsea defender on BBC Two

In the first half Chelsea were flat and it took for them to score that first goal to give them a bit of relief and belief.

It's been a tale of two halves, a tale of two completely different Chelsea teams.

Hopefully now for them they are able to kick on and put those two previous results to bed.
