    Arsenal 1-0 Man City

It's been all Arsenal since the goal, their tails are up and they're hunting for more.

Caitlin Foord takes the chance to shoot from range this time, but it does little to trouble Ayaka Yamashita.

City then break up the other end but Khadija Shaw can't get the better of Katie McCabe.

If City win today then just hand them the trophy.

    Matthew, Leeds

They've got quite a job to do to make that happen as it stands, Matthew.

Arsenal have avoided defeat in their last 28 matches when scoring first in the Women's Super League - since losing 2-1 to West Ham in February 2024.

There aren't many ways you can hurt this Manchester City side, but Rebecca Knaak's lack of pace is a clear weakness.

London City Lionesses gave the defender a torrid time two weeks ago, and now she's up against the pacy Olivia Smith.

There was nothing wrong with Knaak's positioning, she just couldn't match Smith's acceleration.

Mariona Caldentey's pass was timed to perfection and Smith showed supreme composure to round Ayaka Yamashita and slot into the goal.

Jana Fernandez tries her luck from 30 yards out for the hosts and the ball bounces up just in front of diving Everton goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan, who reacts quickly enough to shove the ball wide.

But London City Lionesses are piling on the pressure with Alanna Kennedy powering a header at goal from a right-wing corner. Brosnan is beaten, but saved by a brilliant headed clearance by Ruby Mace.

Seconds after that Grace Geyoro gets a glancing header on to a cross from Kosovare Asllani and it bounces off the right-hand post. Everton hanging on.

    Arsenal 1-0 Man City

Arsenal goalscorer Olivia Smith goes down in a heap after colliding with City keeper Ayaka Yamashita when looking to run onto a Beth Mead pass.

She takes a few seconds to get her bearings but she's ok to continue without treatment.

This is excellent stuff from Liverpool at the moment.

Alejandra Bernabe sends a cross towards the middle and Sabrina D'Angelo has to react quickly and tip it over to prevent the ball dipping under the crossbar.

    West Ham 0-0 Brighton

With Liverpool 2-0 up against Aston Villa, West Ham are heading bottom as it stands.

That assist was the 30th open play chance Mariona Caldentey has created in the WSL this season, three more than the next best creator Vivianne Miedema (27).

    What a sublime goal.

The combination play between the two central midfielders and oh my gosh, it's a superbly detailed pass.

Smith times run really well and Rebecca Knaak couldn't do much about that.

Smith has got the pace, the touch and the finish as well.

    West Ham 0-0 Brighton

An opportunity for West Ham following a corner from the right and Eva Nystrom is there six yards out to head at goal, but disappointingly can only send it straight into the arms of away goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie.

    Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa

If things stay as they are, then Liverpool could - finally - move off the bottom of the table.

As it stands, they would go up to 10th, a point ahead of West Ham and Leicester.

GOAL - Arsenal 1-0 Man Citypublished at 12:17 GMT 8 February

    Olivia Smith (18 mins)

    Arsenal hit the front!

After several minutes of patient side to side passing the hosts finally pick the lock to Man City's defence.

A long threaded through ball from Mariona Caldentey sets Olivia Smith racing in behind Rebecca Knaak, who can't keep pace, before the Canadian rounds Ayaka Yamashita and rolls into the back of the empty net.

There's an intriguing battle developing between Manchester City striker Khadija Shaw and Arsenal centre-back Lotte Wubben-Moy.

The Gunners defender has to put on the afterburners to reach an Alex Greenwood through ball before the Jamaican forward can reach it.

Shaw is looking to score her 15th WSL goal of the season.

A good move from Everton sees Inma Gabarro put the ball into the danger zone, but Wassa Sangare is perfectly placed to clear away.

    Martha Thomas (14 mins)

    They have another!

Once again, Ceri Holland is involved in the build-up in almost the same way. She sends a low cross into the box, a Villa defender gets to it first but all she can do is send the ball back into the air.

It drops to Tottenham loanee Martha Thomas, who bundles it home.

Instinctive from the striker to stick her foot out on the floor to be able to turn it past Sabrina D'Angelo. Not the prettiest of goals, but they all count.

Many a top midfielder have tried and failed to mark the Japan international out of a game.

Thing is with City, if you succeed in stopping Hasegawa, there are about seven or eight others that can make the most of the space left behind and hurt you.

Kim Little puts pressure on Yui HasegawaImage source, Getty Images

Arsenal are doing their best to disrupt Manchester City's build-up play by crowding out Yui Hasegawa. One of Alessia Russo, Kim Little or Mariona Caldentey is on the City midfielder the second she touches the ball.

You have to say the tactic has had limited success so far.

    London City Lionesses 0-0 Everton

So close for London City Lionesses. Kosovare Asllani plays a short corner and gets it back before sending a ball into the back post. Alanna Kennedy is there to get her head on it, but under pressure from visiting goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan can only send the ball wide.

"Shooooot" is the cry around the Emirates as Kim Little forays forward into a patch of space around 25 yards out from goal. She obliges but it's well blocked in the end.

    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

The home crowd roars in expectation as Mariona Caldentey looks to thread a ball through to Olivia Smith on the run.

City centre-half Jade Rose is alive to it though and steps across to quell the danger.
