This Leverkusen squad tonight look solid but can’t compare the their unbeaten performance two years ago. They look like they miss Xabi Alonso.

    Nedum Onuoha
Former Manchester City defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

Leverkusen have been competitive and organised. They have got a really good shape out of possession.

Arsenal have been getting a lot of men forward and they have been putting a lot of bodies in the box, waiting for a ball to come in, but Leverkusen are not giving them any space - I do feel like Arsenal might get some joy down their right flank at some point though.

You can hear more from Onuoha on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 GMT on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

The head of Bodo/Glimt's J-Block supporters' group, Frank Amundsen, says his side's run in the Champions League this season has been "too big to comprehend".

Speaking to BBC World Service, Amundsen said: "I can't take this Champions League run in at all. I think I'll have to give it some years and then think back on it because this is way too big to comprehend.

"Yes, we've had a big bit of luck on the way, but it's also about the dedication, the focus, the performance and the team spirit. Everybody works for each other. It's being a part of a bigger team. There's no egos.

"Everybody just understands how important it is for every person to do their bit and the team spirit is the most important thing."

Nights like this are why Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi joined Manchester City in January for a combined fee of £85m.

"As quick as they start to live these kind of situations, the better it will be for the future of this club," said Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola about the pair facing Real Madrid.

I prefer to be here and come to this stadium in the last-16 because that means we are in more or less the elite of Europe - 12 or 13 years ago, this club was never, never here.

  8. Will Bodo/Glimt Champions League fairytale continue?published at 18:41 GMT 11 March

    Bodo/Glimt v Sporting CP (20:00 GMT)

After beating Manchester City, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan - both home and away - Bodo/Glimt could become just the fifth team outside of Europe's top five leagues to win five consecutive Champions League matches in the 21st century with a victory against Sporting CP tonight.

Can they do it? You'd be foolish to bet against them.

  9. Rosenior will not let tiredness be an excuse for Chelseapublished at 18:40 GMT 11 March

    Paris St-Germain v Chelsea (20:00 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior said he is not thinking about his players being tired before the Champions League last-16 meeting with Paris St-Germain.

The game at the Parc des Princes is a repeat of the July’s Club World Cup final, which the Blues won 3-0 in New Jersey just five weeks before the start of the Premier League season.

Chelsea have rotated heavily at times this season with the senior leadership insistent that first-team players be carefully managed. Rosenior said it was not uppermost in his thinking before the game in Paris.

“If you speak about it too much it becomes something you don’t want it to be,” he said. “In my time I’ve tried to manage the minutes, the training load, the intensity that we train in. A lot of staff have had an input.

“The idea is in these moments in the crunch games to be as strong as possible.”

It's exactly as you'd expect in terms of following suit of how the performances and objectives have been for Arsenal and the style of which they've gone about trying to get the end result.

It doesn't matter if it entertains the crowd as long as it's a win. Arsenal have done okay and Leverkusen have shown some nice things.

    It's very even.

I like Christian Kofane. He's not necessarily getting the shots off because he's got no support. But he is a brave player - props to him for trying to take on the defenders by himself.

Arsenal have lacked composure in the final third thus far. Too many misplaced passes from the likes Martinelli, Gyökeres, and Hincapié Arsenal need more incision and better execution if they are to create more chances.

It's been a typical Arsenal game so far, hasn't it?

They defend so well so they restrict the opposition to very little opportunities and they're not being as creative as they would like.

You never end up watching a game with Arsenal involved at the moment that's free-flowing and open, you just don't see it.
