Paris St‑Germain president Nasser Al‑Khelaifi is not in attendance for Chelsea’s visit to the Parc des Princes.

He has been unable to travel from Doha because of the current situation in the Middle East.

It is the first Champions League match at PSG that anyone can recall him missing since he took charge of the club, but he remains in contact with key staff, including Luis Campos and the coaching team.

All the talk in the build-up to tonight's game in the Arctic Circle has been centred on Bodo/Glimt - but Sporting should not be overlooked.

The Portuguese side have been one of the surprise packages of this season's competition after finishing seventh in the league phase.

On their way their way to securing a top-eight finish, Sporting beat holders Paris St-Germain, Marseille, Club Brugge, Kairat Almaty and Athletic Club.

That impressive run has seen Sporting record their highest win percentage (63%) in a single European campaign in which they have played five or more games.

They are also in good form domestically, sitting second in the Liga Portugal with 19 wins and five draws from 25 matches.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola on facing Real Madrid: "Emotions come when you play bad or your opponents play better. It is not the first time we are here. We have come many times and a lot of players know the stadium. For sure, good things cannot happen if you are not yourselves.

"You have to face the opponent with incredible respect, but look in their eyes and say, 'OK, this is who we are as a team'. And then you have to do it. Maybe you are lucky and go through."

This is Manchester City's third trip to the Bernabeu in 13 months.

While Pep Guardiola is approaching his 10th anniversary in charge of City, Real Madrid have had three different managers in each of City's last three visits.

That is one hell of a "going for the throat" line-up from Pep. Seriously, he's playing three wingers. I'm very glad he's not taking this leg lightly.

We're about 15 minutes from kick-off at the Aspmyra Stadion and the couple of hundred Sporting fans who have made the journey to Norway are making themselves heard already.

I suppose singing, dancing and jumping up and down in unison is one way to keep warm in the cold conditions of the Arctic Circle.

The decision to pick Filip Jorgensen over Robert Sanchez will be heavily scrutinised for such a big match against Paris St-Germain.

There is no longer a number one option at Chelsea under Liam Rosenior as two goalkeepers battle it out.

It now feels like Jorgensen is winning that fight after starting in the recent win at Aston Villa before missing out in the FA Cup at Wrexham but starting against in the Champions League.

This could well be the biggest match of the Dane's career, having at one stage looked like he would need to leave Stamford Bridge to further his career.

    FT: Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Arsenal

Arsenal managed two shots on target at Bayer Leverkusen and one of those was the penalty they equalised from.

The big positive for Mikel Arteta was the influence Noni Madueke had when he came on.

Regardless of what you think of the penalty decision, the England winger at least provided some threat.

Madueke and Saka’s performances tonight are a complete contrast. I’m quite worried that we’re seeing Saka in the midst of player burnout having been relentlessly played for Arsenal and England for the past six years.

The performance wasn't great, it wasn't a massive spectacle in the game but they're going back to the Emirates at 1-1 with a real chance to go through.

It was Madueke's skill and ability to go past people but also his mindset in trying to go past people, he was direct.

Arteta is intense in that dugout, tapping to the side of his head as if to say 'dial in now, we've got the goal, let's get out of jail'.

Fair play to Kai Havertz, he maintained his calmness and just stroked it home. Credit to Noni Madueke who's made the difference for Arsenal.
