  1. Barca in pursuit of brilliant Alvarezpublished at 19:52 BST 14 April

Atletico Madrid v Barcelona (20:00 BST, 2-0 agg)

Think we're all in agreement when we say Julian Alvarez is one of the best players in the world.

The former Man City forward curled in a beautiful free-kick to put Atletico Madrid in the lead in the first leg, but could he be doing that for Barca next season?

It's not surprising Barca are looking to replace an ageing Robert Lewandowski and an inconsistent Ferran Torres with Alvarez.

He has a 500m euros (£435m) release clause, and Atletico will not sell for less than 100m euros (£87m), a fee Barca's current finances cannot support.

Alvarez said: "I'm happy here," but left the door slightly open to the Catalans, when he also said about his future: "I don't know. You never know."

It's going to be fascinating how this plays out.

PSG have a two-goal lead and if Liverpool start to open up and leave gaps at the back, that will suit PSG down to the ground.

Liverpool are going to have to play this game very cautiously at times which doesn't sound great for the fans going to the game.

But you have to try and play it in stages and maybe get a goal just before half-time.

Lamine Yamal's a special talent, special player. He's already a superstar, he's the next icon of the game. You can see him standing shoulder to shoulder with the greats. He's a sensational footballer.

Tonight is just the second time Liverpool's big three summer signings (Wirtz, Isak, Ekitike) have all started a match together in all competitions, after their 5-1 win at Eintracht Frankfurt in October.

Flowforth: For Liverpool to have a chance they have to be bold - and I fear that Slot will be too cautious. We need the unpredictability of Rio and Mo on the wings - and rotate Ekitike and Isak in the middle. Play Wirtz in a free role to pull the strings - and Dom and Grav/Macca behind. No more odd formations - play Frimpong and Robbo with our best two CBs. Be patient and don't concede - get the first goal.

I watched Alexander Isak come on at the weekend, and he looked so disinterested and so unfit. That is a big gamble for him to be starting. Fingers crossed he is ready for the challenge.

On Arne Slot, who revealed that Alexander Isak won't be able to play 'much more than 45 minutes' in his pre-match interview...

If Isak is on fire, he might feel like he has more in him. If someone is only playing 45 minutes, you'd imagine Arne Slot has already told someone, maybe Mohamed Salah, that he is coming on at half-time. If that doesn't happen, there is another issue, another situation.

If there is one team that can believe they can do it, it's Barcelona. The team is super offensive. There is a lot of energy, there is a lot of legs, but at the end of the day it is all pretty much down to Lamine Yamal. If he can deliver, then they can qualify.

This is a big week for Arne Slot.

They play Everton at the Hill Dickinson on Sunday which is another huge game. They have also got Manchester United (away) in their remaining fixtures as well.

If he is to lose a few games on the bounce, and this one heavily tonight...I think the Anfield crowd are starting to get a little bit frustrated with him.

You do not want to lose the crowd.

For me, Luis Enrique's dream is to come coach here in Liverpool, Manchester or London at one of the big English clubs. He is made for this league, he is made for this culture.

He is a great coach, but I think he will work so well with the right English club. It is inevitable that we will see him in the Premier League on the bench.

Luis Enrique knows exactly what kind of atmosphere his PSG players are in for tonight - after experiencing The Kop for himself.

After retiring from playing, the two-time Champions League winning boss came to watch Liverpool and stood on The Kop with home fans to sample the atmosphere.

"I don't remember the match but it was nice," said Enrique at his pre-match news conference on Tuesday.

"I wanted to live as a supporter at one of the best stadiums in the world. I remember I got the tickets because Luis Garcia was playing here."

Later on Tuesday, Garcia - who won the Champions League with Liverpool in 2005 - wrote on social media: "It was Everton Luis! Special match. Great old memories."

  18. Barca not happy with Atletico pitchpublished at 19:31 BST 14 April

Atletico Madrid v Barcelona (20:00 BST, 2-0 agg)

Barcelona are reportedly concerned about the quality of the pitch at the Estadio Metropolitano.

And it's not the first time the pitch has been criticised. Both opposition and Atletico players in the last few months have had their say on its condition.

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has reportedly discussed the pitch with the Uefa match delegate.

There have been several high-profile incidents of players slipping on the surface in recent months, notably in Barca’s 4-0 Copa del Rey defeat in February and Tottenham's Champions League loss.

It's one to keep an eye on.

  20. 'I can't believe Slot has revealed that'published at 19:28 BST 14 April

    Robbie Fowler
Former Liverpool striker on Amazon Prime

On Arne Slot, who revealed that Alexander Isak won't be able to play 'much more than 45 minutes' in his pre-match interview...

I can't believe he's done that. He has come out and more or less given the tactic away, straight away. If he changes after 45 minutes, there is going to be a change in the tactics, formation or dynamics of Liverpool. It doesn't make sense for me.
