It's been an up and down season for Brighton, who have stuttered and stumbled through their Women's Super League campaign.

No danger of going down, no hopes of sneaking into Europe, stuck in six place. There's no better tonic for that than a good old fashioned FA Cup run.

They've only made the final four twice before, in 2021 and 2023, and limped out on both occasions, so they'll be wanting to make amends this time around.

That said they have to get past European champions Arsenal first...

While Arsenal are the most successful club in the history of the Women's FA Cup, the 14-time winners have not hand their hands on this trophy since 2016.

It's been a decade of nearly moments, including two final defeats by bitter rivals Chelsea along the way.

At this stage last season they were knocked out in a shock home defeat by a struggling Liverpool side that were battling WSL relegation under an interim manager.

So it's safe to say the Gunners will be going all out to right their wretched recent record this afternoon.

    Hello there.

It's quarter-final weekend in the women's FA Cup, starting with two intriguing ties this Sunday afternoon.

Record winners Arsenal will be looking to end their ten-year drought as they host Brighton, who have eyes on booking just a third semi-final in their history.

Then it's over to The Valley as second-tier Charlton step away from their promotion push to welcome a resurgent Liverpool.

So grab as much chocolate as you can and settle in on the sofa for what should be a cracking afternoon of action.
