Cardiff righted their two-match winless run with a 4-0 thumping of Exeter on Saturday to get their automatic promotion bid right back on track.

The Bluebirds start the night 11 points clear of third-placed Bolton and four behind leaders Lincoln.

They'll look to pick up where they left off in Devon against a Wycombe side whose own top-six push has just come undone a little with successive defeats.

The Chairboys' push for a play-off spot could ultimately be undone by their poor away form, they've won just two of their past 12 on the road.

  2. Imperious Imps visit troubled Terrierspublished at 19:34 GMT 17 March

    Huddersfield v Lincoln (19:45 GMT)

If someone had told you in August that this fixture would see a team 15 points clear of third playing one battling for a play-off spot, you might have believed them.

You probably wouldn't have guessed it would be Lincoln who are the League One leaders, though.

The Imps are on a club-record 20-match unbeaten run as they look to secure promotion to the second tier after a 66-year absence.

The vibes aren't so good at Huddersfield - the team were booed off the field after their goalless draw at Port Vale on Saturday and they're only in the top six on goal difference.

A couple of nervy early clearing kicks from Exiles keeper Jordan Wright, one hitting a defender and one sliced clean out of play, but he gets away with both.

Harrison Biggins has fired in a 25-yarder at the other end but it swerves a couple of feet past Grant Smith's upright.

Nobody has won more games in the top four tiers of English football than Lincoln City's 24 so far this season.

The Imps are on run of six successive victories and a club-record 20 games unbeaten.

Long-time division leaders Cardiff are now four points behind the Imps, and, more importantly, third-placed Bolton are a whole 15 points back.

The Imps face a tough trip tonight at sixth-placed Huddersfield, while Cardiff host another team hoping to end the season in the top six in Wycombe, while Bolton welcome a Doncaster side who have eased some of their concerns at the other end of the table.

Speaking of teams at the wrong end, lowly Port Vale look destined for an immediate return to League Two and you'd think they'll need to come back from Blackpool with more than just a stick of rock to give their safety hopes a desperately needed push.

Christian Fuchs has made three changes to the Newport side which came from behind to win at Barnet last time out.

Joe Thomas, Ben Lloyd and Nathan Opoku come in while Ryan Delaney and Michael Spellman miss out and Courtney Baker-Richardson is named among the subs.

Andy Woodman has also made three changes from the Bromley XI which beat Bristol Rovers at Hayes Lane on Saturday.

Ben Krauhaus and Jude Arthurs return and Tottenham loanee Damola Ajayi is handed his first start.

Ben Thompson misses out after limping off on Saturday while Ashley Charles and Corey Whitely drop to the bench, where academy player George Evans has made the squad for the first time in League Two.

Barrow player-head-coach Sam Foley has also made one change to the Bluebirds XI which drew 0-0 at home to Accrington on Saturday.

So much at stake in this one at both ends of the League Two table.

Leaders Bromley stretched their unbeaten run to 19 league games with a win over 10-man Bristol Rovers on Saturday. The advent calendars weren't even open the last time they tasted defeat - a 3-1 loss at Walsall on 29 November.

Andy Woodman's side had, however, drawn five of their six games prior to the win over Rovers, which has allowed the chasing pack to stay hot on their heels.

Newport have actually risen to their highest position since August off the back of a fine month under Christian Fuchs (pictured).

A 2-1 win at Barnet on Saturday made it 10 points from six games and took County up to 21st, two points above second-bottom Barrow, who do have a game in hand.

  11. Clouds gathering over Bluebirds' seasonpublished at 19:14 GMT 17 March

    Salford v Barrow (19:45 GMT)

New Barrow player-head coach Sam Foley hopes his "simple" message can provide a platform for the Bluebirds to avoid relegation from League Two.

The 39-year-old took charge last week after the departure of Dino Maamria, making him the fifth person to lead them at some point this season.

Midfielder Foley, who named himself on the bench, reverted to a back four in Saturday's goalless draw with Accrington Stanley which, despite the result, produced a more positive display.

"It's finding something simple for the players to get on board with," he told BBC Radio Cumbria.

The point did not prevent Barrow from slipping into the bottom two for the first time all season as Newport won at Barnet, and tonight's hosts Salford are the first of six opponents in the top eight that the Bluebirds will face during the run-in.

The fifth-placed Ammies have won four of their past five games without conceding and are four points behind the automatic promotion spots, with an eight-point buffer in the play-off chase.

  12. Lawlor appointed Fleetwood bosspublished at 19:10 GMT 17 March

Fleetwood announced earlier today that their interim head coach Matt Lawlor has been confirmed in the role on a permanent basis and signed a deal until the end of the 2027-28 season.

The 37-year-old has brought about an upturn in form since the sacking of Pete Wild. His troops head across the Pennines to the opposite coast to face eighth-placed Grimsby.

The use of "old foes" to describe Gillingham and Swindon might seem a rogue one for sides not massively close geographically, but their is a bit of beef in this one.

The animosity stems back to an incident-packed match between the teams in 1979 and it has rumbled on ever since.

On the pitch, Gillingham are yet to lose a home EFL game to Swindon this century, with their most recent loss coming in December 1986.

  13. Plenty to play for in League Twopublished at 19:07 GMT 17 March

League Two table next to Andy Woodman smiling

Bromley revealed this week that their pre-season points target was 73... well, they have got there with nine games to spare, but what now?

Andy Woodman's men can open up a five-point lead over in-form MK Dons, who are not in action until Wednesday. Should they falter, third-placed Cambridge, who have a game in hand, will close the gap if they get a positive result at Walsall.

Bromley head to Newport, who have taken 10 points from their past six games to climb out of the drop zone, though they will slip back in tonight if they lose, along with a Barrow win at Salford and Crawley avoiding defeat by Barnet.

Depending on results elsewhere, Harrogate could get off the bottom with a win over Tranmere, who picked up their first point in six games on Saturday.

The play-off race is just as fascinating, with Notts County heading to Accrington, Swindon visiting old foes Gillingham, Chesterfield welcoming in-form Oldham and Grimsby seeking to bounce back against Fleetwood.

Could be a huge night in the fourth tier, this...

It's hard to believe but this is the final full midweek round of matches in Leagues One and Two.

After tonight, a lot of teams will have just eight games to play, so for clubs looking to change their direction of travel before it's too late, there's no time like the present.

The kick for home in this marathon EFL season is under way.
