  1. CLOSE!published at 15:27 GMT 4 January

    Fulham 0-0 Liverpool

Curtis Jones picks out the run of Cody Gakpo through a gap in the Fulham defence. He never truly looks set as he goes left-footed towards the far post but Bernd Leno watches it trickle past the post.

  2. Postpublished at 15:26 GMT 4 January

    Everton 0-1 Brentford

Tim Iroegbunam intercepts a poor Brentford pass, runs into the box and then sidefoots a shot well wide. Caoimhin Kelleher had started moving before he realised it wasn't going in.

  3. CLOSE!published at 15:26 GMT 4 January

    Tottenham 0-0 Sunderland

Good play by Tottenham as Richarlison times a run well to get to a ball down the right. Spurs then work it across the pitch to Mathys Tel, whose attempt to place a shot into the far corner goes just wide.

Can someone explain what "clear and obvious" is supposed to mean for VAR? If it's inches is that clear and obvious? Centimetres? Millimetres?

    Mike, Newcastle fan

  5. 'Wissa offside in the build-up'published at 15:25 GMT 4 January

    Newcastle 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Premier League

  6. Postpublished at 15:24 GMT 4 January

    Everton 0-1 Brentford

Everton fans are pretty disgruntled at what they're seeing so far. Brentford captain Nathan Collins, a centre-back, runs through their team before being fouled by Tyler Dibling.

  7. Loud boos at St James' Parkpublished at 15:23 GMT 4 January

    Newcastle 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Ciaran Kelly
BBC Sport reporter at St James' Park

Loud boos at St James' Park after Newcastle United's goal is disallowed. It was tight.

But that was a glimpse of the lightning pace the hosts carry through Yoane Wissa and Anthony Gordon - not that Crystal Palace will now need reminding.

  8. Postpublished at 15:23 GMT 4 January

    Fulham 0-0 Liverpool

Fulham are letting Liverpool dictate the early play here but the Reds are hardly causing much of a threat.

It's being played at walking pace.

  9. 'Warning for Palace'published at 15:23 GMT 4 January

    Newcastle 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Rob Elliot
Newcastle goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra 3

It's brilliant from Wissa. I don't think Gordon was expecting him to square it. His awareness to slide it to Gordon is great. Palace will be disappointed because they had started well defensively.

That is a warning for Palace.

  10. Disappointment for Kuduspublished at 15:22 GMT 4 January

    Tottenham 0-0 Sunderland

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Real blow for Spurs and Mohammed Kudus as he is off injured. He had made a busy start but his day is done. Randal Kolo Muani now has the chance to make his mark.

The longer Spurs have to rely on Richarlison up front the less likely they are to win anything!! He is just rubbish and never in the right place at the right time.

    Mike, Bristol

  12. Postpublished at 15:22 GMT 4 January

    Tottenham 0-0 Sunderland

Tottenham's high pressing is enabling them to win possession high up a lot but their finishing needs some work as Pedro Porro bends an effort wide.

  14. Postpublished at 15:21 GMT 4 January

    Fulham 0-0 Liverpool

    Mark Schwarzer

It's been a bit of a frantic start with both sides wanting to play out from the back.

  15. Postpublished at 15:21 GMT 4 January

    Fulham 0-0 Liverpool

Lovely play from Liverpool at the back to work it through for Cody Gakpo. He spins and shoots on the edge of the box but it's deflected wide for the first corner of the game.

    Everton 0-1 Brentford

  17. goal

GOAL - Newcastle 1-0 Crystal Palacepublished at 15:20 GMT 4 January

    Anthony Gordon (19 mins)

Newcastle take the lead through Anthony Gordon!

Yoane Wissa is set free but unselfishly squares it for the England international to tap home.

There will be a VAR review, though....

Defensive blunder by Tarkowski. Was surprised Moyes changed the back four who I thought played really well at Forest.
