Some breathtaking football, what a finish.

Xavi Simons wasn't going to cry about the equaliser, he's doing something about it. He's been excellent tonight.

    Liverpool lead!

Mohamed Salah makes up for missing the spot kick as he takes the ball from Alexis Mac Allister wide right. He takes a touch and plays a lovely ball across the face of goal for Hugo Ekitike to slot home.

    Anfield loves that!

Atletico give the ball away, with Archie Gray getting a foot in and then playing it to Xavi Simons. And what a strike it is, 25 yards out, curling just inside the far post and the Spurs fans are hoping again.

Tottenham still need two more and have about 40 minutes to get them.

    Liverpool 1-0 Galatasaray (1-1 agg)

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live at Anfield

Hugo Ekitike looked lively tonight when he has got into the 18-yard box.

Galatasaray have been here before - they know how to do it. The longer it goes, the more it will suit them. For Liverpool, it is about exerting that dominance that they had in the first half.

Florian Wirtz slips it through for Hugo Ekitike and he goes for goal rather than squaring it.

Another chance for Liverpool comes to nothing.

Mo Salah spends his time grinning inanely now as his error count rapidly spirals higher. He seems to think he’s constantly unlucky when it’s clear he’s just not that good any longer.

Tottenham want a foul for Xavi Simons at one end but they don't get it and Atletico Madrid sprint down the other end. Julian Alvarez spins and fires into the top corner of the net.

There is a VAR check, but the goal stands. Tottenham once again need three goals.

FT: Barcelona 7-2 Newcastle (agg 8-3)

    Barcelona

Barcelona goalscorer Robert Lewandowski: "I'm very happy and proud of myself and the team and how we played. We made some mistakes, in defence it was a little bit too easy for them.

"We tried to do our best, Newcastle had tried to be on that level in the first. We saw in the second that now is the moment to score the goals and we did.

"I learn from the younger guys a lot. They're a different generation but they try to help me as well because I'm the striker. If I get the service I can try to do something else with the goals. Only as a team we can win the games and the title. We know we have a lot of jobs and hard work to do this season."

  20. Newcastle need to 'hold their heads high'published at 20:58 GMT 18 March

FT: Barcelona 7-2 Newcastle (agg 8-3)

    Glenn Hoddle
Former England and Tottenham manager on TNT Sports

Newcastle have got to hold their heads high. Over the period of the first leg and the first half, they went toe-to-toe and were just as good as Barcelona.

Newcastle's rotations, dragging people into numerous positions that they didn't need to go into just didn't help them.

The creativity that Barcelona have, the flair, they thoroughly deserved the win in the end.
