  1. Bowyer wants 'long-term' success at Burtonpublished at 14:46 GMT 17 January

    Burton v Huddersfield (15:00 GMT)

Dave Fletcher and Ed Dawes discuss the tension behind the scenes at the Pirelli Stadium

On the subject of Burton for a moment, head coach Gary Bowyer has this week spoken about his job at the Pirelli Stadium.

And we are not talking about a man defending himself at the prospect of the sack.

No, he has outlined that contributing to the long-term success of the Brewers is just as important as getting results now in their battle to avoid relegation.

The 54-year-old was reacting to comments from Burton's sporting director Richard Dorman, who told the club's media channel, external, external that Bowyer "needs to win Saturday and get this club stable in League One in the short-term" while it is his job to have "long-term thinking".

You can read more from Bowyer here, or head to the top of this post to listen to analysis from the team at BBC Radio Derby.

    Stockport v Rotherham (15:00 GMT)

The kind of game which decides if you are going up, or indeed, staying up.

Stockport will seek to keep the pressure on at the top as they welcome freefalling Rotherham to Edgeley Park.

The Millers are looking to avoid losing seven straight league games in the third tier for the first time ever, and currently sit third-bottom, three points from safety.

The Hatters have won their past three at home and will seek to complete the double over United, having won 1-0 in the reverse fixture in September, for the first time in 32 years.

Stockport has not been a happy hunting ground for Matt Hamshaw’s men, who have won on only one of their past 10 visits, that coming in October 2001.

With 20+ games to go we're not quite in 'must-win' territory yet, but three points this afternoon could help shape the remainder of both teams' seasons.

  3. League Two tablepublished at 14:42 GMT 17 January

A big win at Tranmere for Walsall keeps them third in League Two - staving off the chasing pack.

Leaders Bromley held at Chesterfield - so Swindon have the chance to cut the gap at the top to three points later.

What have we learned this lunchtime?

If anyone finishes above Cardiff, they will almost certainly go straight up.

Bradford showed enough to suggest they are here to stay in the promotion race, but Bolton's win at Wigan means they can expect a tussle for their top-six spot from now until the end of the season.

The Latics remain perilously close to the drop-zone in a crazy bottom half with just three points separating eight teams in and above the relegation places.

Over to you, Lincoln. The 3pm games have a lot to live up to...

    FT: Chesterfield 0-0 Bromley

Bromley's social media describes it as a big point on the road and it's hard to disagree.

The league leaders were far from at their best, the direct play not creating any clear cut chances.

Had Kabamba's late penalty found the back of the net, it would have been harsh on a committed Chesterfield, who had all the game's best chances.

When you're not at your best, the important thing is to not lose and come May, might Andy Woodman look back on this as a point gained or two dropped?

What a win for Cardiff City.

Catch them if you can at the top of League One.

Seven clear of second placed Lincoln for a few hours at least.

They survived the Bradford comeback in the second half.

The end of a humdinger, and the kind of result the term 'six-pointer' was made for.

If Bradford win, they would have been within three points of leaders Cardiff, but as it is, the Bluebirds have a nine-point cushion in the race for promotion to the Championship.

David Turnbull curled a beauty after 15 minutes and Calum Chambers poked a second nine minutes later, and though the Bantams improved and posed much more of a threat, Jenson Metcalfe's exquisite finish into the top corner just before the hour was all they had to show for it.

Just a second defeat at home since March for Graham Alexander's men, while the Bluebirds are now seven points clear of second-placed Lincoln, who will try to answer back at Luton shortly.

    Tranmere 1-3 Walsall

Walsall snap back-to-back league defeats with a convincing win at Tranmere.

Priestley Farquharson, Daniel Kanu and Jamille Matt put them 3-0 up before Joe Ironside nodded on for Tranmere who fall to a fourth home defeat in five.

The win moves them level on points with second-placed Swindon and within six points of leaders Bromley who were held at Chesterfield.

Omar Sowunmi then stretches to make the challenge as Freddie Ladapo looked set to break clear.

    And that's that.

Bromley's run of seven straight wins is over and they were pushed hard by the hosts.

The Ravens had a late chance to win it but Nicke Kabamba's spot-klck was saved by Zach Hemmings.
