The Hatters getting some momentum going but Ben Osborn's half-volley across goal from the edge of the box has skidded past Cameron Dawson's upright.

Osborn then sent in a cross from the left by Kyle Wootton's header is meat and drink for the keeper.

Lincoln are off to a fast start at Kenilworth Road.

Jack Moylan does well to carve out the chance, beating his man before sending in a cross for Freddie Draper to head home at the far post.

A great start for basement side Newport County who began the day bottom but are ahead at Gillingham thanks to Michael Spellman's opener.

First glimpse of goal goes to the hosts as Tayo Edun's downward header is claimed by Millers keeper Cameron Dawson.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:08 GMT 17 January

    Shrewsbury 0-0 Harrogate

Very early yellow card as Harrogate midfielder Jack Evans is booked after just three minutes for a late challenge on Ismeal Kabia.

The Shrews are first to show in attack as Iwan Morgan cuts inside and shoots, but it's claimed by new keeper Henry Gray.

    Luton 0-0 Lincoln

I talked up Luton's historical form in this fixture earlier, so it's only right that I give Lincoln City a nod with a stat from Opta's vault.

After winning the reverse fixture 3-1 in September last year, the Imps will be looking to complete only a second ever Football League double over Luton Town after the 1899-1900 season.

    Swindon 0-0 Salford

Bright start from the hosts as Darren Oldaker, sporting a headband today, sees a shot blocked, with Aaron Drinan's follow-up also charged down in the goalmouth.

It's a little bit slow and predictable, trying to slow play everything, there needs to be more speed to the way Stockport play.

    Swindon 0-0 Salford

Ryan Graydon is straight into the Salford XI after his big-money signing, with Paul Scholes making the trip to Wiltshire to keep an eye on the Ammies this afternoon.

He's probably in a decent mood after Man United's win in the Manchester derby at lunchtime, but can Salford make his day even better?

The first goal of the 15:00 GMT kick-offs hasn't taken long to land!

And it's League One strugglers Burton Albion that have taken the lead against Huddersfield Town with Terence Vancooten heading home after just four minutes.

    Shrewsbury 0-0 Harrogate

Plenty of new faces for Harrogate for this huge clash at the bottom - four debutants, in fact, after all of their new signings start.

Henry Gray goes straight between the sticks, young defenders Chanse Headman and Cathal Heffernan are in defence and striker Emiole Acquah is up top.

Shrews new man Nick Freeman also makes his bow.

    Luton 0-0 Lincoln

Luton are up against a red-hot Lincoln side today, but the Hatters do have history on their side in this fixture.

They have won 11 of their 15 home Football League games against Lincoln City (D2 L2), scoring 2.7 goals on average per fixture during that time.

I got the feeling we are in for plenty of goals at Kenilworth Road this afternoon (not to jinx it, of course)

Newport County could lift themselves off the very bottom of the table when they travel to a Gillingham side who have just one win in their last fifteen games.

Cambridge United will look to make it 11 unbeaten and keep their promotion push alive when they travel to mid-table Fleetwood.

While fellow play-off contenders MK Dons head to Accrington Stanley in search of a first win four games. The hosts themselves could make it four wins in a row.

    Swindon v Salford (15:00 GMT)

Another whopping great game in the League Two promotion race as second hosts fourth.

Salford have been a runaway train of late, unbeaten across their past seven league games, and they sit outside the top three on goal difference alone.

The Ammies head to second-placed Swindon, three points better off, with Ian Holloway's team six adrift of leaders Bromley.

These two might be sick of the sight of each other soon, they will renew this rivalry on Tuesday in a rearranged FA Cup third round tie (19:45 GMT) back up the M6 after a frozen pitch put paid to the original fixture last weekend.

The prize for the winners? A date with a Manchester City side who hammered Exeter 10-1.

Three points this afternoon might well provide a better opportunity for glory for one of these sides come the end of the season.

  17. Strugglers strengthen ahead of huge basement battlepublished at 14:54 GMT 17 January

    Shrewsbury v Harrogate (15:00 GMT)

With four points separating the bottom four, this game will settle nothing statistically, but in morale terms it is massive.

Defeat for either would be a further hammerblow to already limited confidence, with Shrewsbury winless in eight league matches and Harrogate without a victory in 15 since beating Newport on 27 September.

The Shrews have brought in Brentford goalkeeper Matthew Cox on loan and midfielder Nick Freeman from Stevenage.

The Sulphurites have been even busier in the market, bringing in young defenders Chanse Headman and Cathal Heffernan from Premier League sides Brentford and Newcastle, respectively, Ipswich goalkeeper Henry Gray, and Dundee striker Emile Acquah.

Without wanting to deflate the excitement, a goal feast would be a surprise, to put it mildly.

Only one side has scored fewer goals in League Two than Shrewsbury’s tally of 21 and that’s Harrogate (19).

Not that either side would mind a scrappy 1-0. It's all about the points.

Burton Albion will look to end their winless run when they host Huddersfield Town at the Pirelli Stadium. Three points for the Brewers could see them move out of the bottom four.

Northampton Town will be keeping an eye on what happens in Derbyshire as they could drop into the relegation zone if they lose at home to Wycombe at Sixfields.

Two former Premier League sides start this afternoon hoping to get past the 30 point mark as Barnsley host Blackpool. The Tykes are without a win in their last four.

Mansfield Town could make it five wins in a row in all competitions when they welcome Port Vale to Field Mill. The visitors have won all three matches under new boss Jon Brady.

  19. Ex-Padres co-owner Fowler to take Lincoln controlling stakepublished at 14:50 GMT 17 January

    Luton v Lincoln (15:00 GMT)

    Ron FowlerImage source, Getty Images

Talking of Lincoln City, there has been some movement behind the scenes at the LNER Stadium recently.

It was revealed this week that Ron Fowler, the former executive chairman and co-owner of Major League Baseball team the San Diego Padres, is set to take a controlling stake in the Imps.

The American has made a play to up his minority stake to more than 25%, which will make him the biggest shareholder in the promotion-chasing League One side.

What does it all mean, apart from a share shuffle and new chairman in Fowler?

Well, one could argue they are readying themselves for a step up to the Championship with major stakeholder with financial flex as Fowler is a leading figure in the beverage industry in the United States...

  20. Flying Imps take on surging Lutonpublished at 14:48 GMT 17 January

    Luton v Lincoln (15:00 GMT)

High-flying Lincoln City are at a Luton side that have hit some real form under boss Jack Wilshere.

The Hatters have won three on the spin at home in the league as they have climbed up to seventh in the table.

They are now right on the doorstep of the play-off places and victory against the Imps would be a huge result.

Lincoln, however, are side in terrific touch right now, winning six games in an eight-match unbeaten league run.

In fact, Lincoln have lost just five of their opening 25 League One games so far this season, their fewest at this stage of a third tier campaign since 1951-52 when they were eventually promoted from the Third Division North.
