22 shots over the course of this game and the Sheff Wednesday game with only two on target shows exactly what's wrong with us.. yet our manager knows best and plays a CDM up top while we have two young strikers on the bench.

    Adam, Kendal

There's a ballot among Blackburn supporters for the chance to buy the 150th anniversary shirt. Can't imagine there'll be many takers after this performance wearing it.

Sam Smith makes another burst between two Blackburn defenders, but George Dobson can't quite pick him out.

Sondre Tronstad then becomes the fourth booking for the hosts after a frustrated challenge on Ollie Rathbone.

All pretty comfortable for the visitors.

    Blackburn 0-2 Wrexham

    Ian Mitchelmore
    BBC Sport Wales

Wrexham have not kept a clean sheet in any of their past seven league games, but they remain on course to do so today.

Aside from that chance for Moussa Baradji early on in the second half, Arthur Okonkwo has had precious little to worry about.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 71 mins

    Blackburn 0-2 Wrexham

Ben Sheaf comes on and gives Matty James a breather after a hard-working shift.

It was his assist that helped put Wrexham ahead.

  5. Postpublished at 68 mins

    Blackburn 0-2 Wrexham

Wrexham look a danger from corners and George Thomason whips another vicious delivery into the near post.

Moussa Baradji is forced to intervene and nods it backwards, right across goal, and out for another corner. It's cleared.

Their second balls have been better, they're moving it quicker and Blackburn haven't quite matched that.

It's not good to watch. There's quality players in there but they're not playing together, it's purely individualism.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 66 mins

    Blackburn 0-2 Wrexham

Nice weaving run from Yuki Ohashi as he cuts into the Wrexham box.

He looks to pick out the far corner, but Dominic Hyam reads it well and blocks for a corner.

The visitors deal with the set piece and to add to home frustrations, Lewis Miller goes into the book as he stops a Wrexham counter.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 64 mins

    Blackburn 0-2 Wrexham

George Dobson into the book for Wrexham for a tough tackle on Moussa Baradji.

  9. Postpublished at 63 mins

    Blackburn 0-2 Wrexham

Sam Smith does brilliantly to race across and win a ball down the line from George Thomason he has no right to.

Tom Atcheson's sliding challenge stops him streaking clear.

  10. Postpublished at 62 mins

    Blackburn 0-2 Wrexham

Todd Cantwell plays a teasing ball from the right into the box towards Rovers forward Yuki Ohashi who has had a very quiet afternoon.

Now he gets pinged for a high boot as Dominic Hyam dips his head low to clear.

  11. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 57 mins

Blackburn are forced into another change as wing-back Matty Litherland limps off.

  12. End to endpublished at 13:50 GMT 1 January

    Blackburn 0-2 Wrexham

    Ian Mitchelmore
    BBC Sport Wales

A minute after coming within a whisker of making it 2-1, Rovers almost go 3-0 down.

What a big save that could be from Pears to deny O'Brien.

Replays have just confirmed that former Blackburn man Dom Hyam got a vital touch on that Moussa Baradji shot too.

  13. 'So close for Blackburn'published at 13:49 GMT 1 January

    Blackburn 0-2 Wrexham

    Kevin Gallacher
Former Blackburn striker on BBC Radio Lancashire

How unlucky Baradji - he struck it so well.

You need a little bit of luck sometimes, you're hoping it goes behind the line but unfortunately it didn't.

  14. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 56 mins

    Blackburn 0-2 Wrexham

So close to cutting the deficit.

A nice, swift move slices Wrexham open and sends Moussa Baradji running into the box with just Arthur Okonkwo to beat.

His powerful shot takes a touch off Dom Hyam's challenge and against the underside of the bar.

Then at the other end Aynsley Pears makes a tremendous save, sticking out a right hand to deny Lewis O'Brien on the counter.

  15. Postpublished at 54 mins

    Blackburn 0-2 Wrexham

There's more urgency from the home side, but they still look disjointed in their attacking build-up.

They have had just seven touches in the Wrexham box in this match so far.

  16. 'Wrexham looking comfortable'published at 13:44 GMT 1 January

There appears to be a lot of lost souls out there in the Blackburn team today.

Wrexham look ever so comfortable at this moment in time.

If they see the job done today, they're right in the play-off mix.

  17. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Blackburn 0-2 Wrexham

Back-to-back corners for the visitors and the second curls right at Aynsley Pears who punches clear under no pressure.

Blackburn respond through some good work in central midfield from Axel Henriksson who plays Matty Litherland down the right.

His low cross into the six-yard box is a good one, but there are no takers. Where was the run?

  18. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Blackburn 0-2 Wrexham

Lewis O'Brien keeps the ball in play and sparks another Wrexham break down the left.

He sends Sam Smith scampering away but his poor cross is blocked out for a corner.

  19. KICK-OFFpublished at 13:35 GMT 1 January

    Blackburn 0-2 Wrexham

Big 45 needed from the hosts who have not managed a goal in their last five halves of football.

As suspected, Ryan Hedges cannot continue for the second half after that heavy knock and is replaced by Harry Pickering in the only change to the two sides at half-time.

Wrexham are seeking a first away win since September against a Rovers side who have picked up just two league wins at home this term.

It would also be their first away EFL win on New Year’s Day since 1966.

Pathetic from Rovers, something needs to change, awful. This lot can't win a argument never mind a football match, time for a change in manager.

    Robert Mott

Blackburn kit is a beauty. Sadly, the players look like they've just time-travelled 150 years into the future and are struggling to find their bearings!

Could it be any worse? An unchanged side from the draw against Sheffield Wednesday could probably hint to most fans that we were in for a poor result.
