As a Blackburn fan, I'm worried, our recruitment in the summer was very poor, our manager and his tactics are awful, sadly too many issues to fix to save us from the drop.

    Charlton 0-1 Coventry

Not much goalmouth action to tell you about since the early goal at The Valley in truth.

Coventry look very comfortable despite head coach Frank Lampard tweaking the formation to a back three and balls into the centre from Charlton have been easily dealt with so far, in large part thanks to returning defender Bobby Thomas.

  5. 'Ipswich dominating'published at 15:23 GMT 1 January

    Ipswich 1-0 Oxford

    Mick Mills
Former Ipswich and England captain on BBC Radio Suffolk

We're dominating the ball, all the play is in the final third. The goal was only a matter of time.

It's going to be a tough afternoon for Oxford, they're 1-0 down with 70 minutes of play left and they're hardly seeing the ball.

  6. CLOSE!published at 15:22 GMT 1 January

    Bristol City 1-0 Portsmouth

Portsmouth come close with a decent response to going behind but fail to find the target.

Ibane Bowat heads John Swift's free-kick narrowly over the crossbar.

    Hull City 0-0 Stoke City

Good low save from Tigers goalkeeper Ivor Pandur to keep out Robert Bozenik's long range shot.

It's a brilliant first block from Philogene's first shot, but he did well to find the bottom corner.

He's arguably the most talented player in the league and when you give him those opportunities you know you're in trouble.

  9. CLOSE!published at 15:20 GMT 1 January

    Watford 1-0 Birmingham

Birmingham close to an instant response.

Kyogo Furuhashi gets his shot off inside the box but it is well saved by Watford keeper Egil Selvik.

  10. goal

GOAL: Ipswich 1-0 Oxfordpublished at 15:19 GMT 1 January

    Jaden Philogene (18 mins)

The Tractor Boys take the lead!

Jens Cajuste wins back possession for Ipswich before finding Jaden Philogene who produces some classy footwork before picking out the bottom corner of the net with his right foot.

  11. CLOSE!published at 15:19 GMT 1 January

    Southampton 0-0 Millwall

A real opportunity for Millwall but the end product is not quite there.

Femi Azeez cuts the ball back to Thierno Ballo who shoots right at Gavin Bazunu.

Aside from the chance it has been a fairly quiet and even opening 20 minutes.

  12. Postpublished at 15:17 GMT 1 January

    Swansea 0-0 West Brom

In-form Swansea, chasing a fifth win in seven, have started brightly.

Zeidane Inoussa and Malick Yalcouye link and tee up Marko Stamenic whose curling effort is deflected out for a corner.

The Baggies have lost eight on the trot on the road, while the hosts have four home wins on the bounce.

  13. CLOSE!published at 15:17 GMT 1 January

    QPR 0-0 Norwich

The home side have started this match on the front foot and a corner causes Norwich keeper Vladan Kovacevic a bit of bother but the Canaries scramble the ball clear.

From another corner, Steve Cook flicks on a header at the near post but the ball goes agonisingly past the far corner!

First presentable chance of the game.

  14. Postpublished at 15:14 GMT 1 January

    Charlton 0-1 Coventry

Haji Wright looks to bend in an effort with his left foot but the ball goes wide of the Charlton goal.

Coventry have started this match exactly how head coach Frank Lampard would have wanted them to following their defeat to Ipswich on Monday.

  15. Postpublished at 15:14 GMT 1 January

    Preston 0-0 Sheff Wed

Not too much doing in this one so far.

Ali McCann's effort, comfortably saved by Wednesday keeper Pierce Charles, is as close as either side have come in the opening minutes.

  16. 'He has to score'published at 15:12 GMT 1 January

    Derby 0-0 Middlesbrough

    Neil Maddison
Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Tees

    He's got to finish that.

It's a lovely ball into Tommy Conway, he's about seven yards out and he just misses the ball.

You talk about chances - the two chances we've had are clear-cut chances.

    Derby 0-0 Middlesbrough

Hayden Hackney of Middlesbrough reactsImage source, Getty Images

Hayden Hackney with a thrusting run towards the Derby box and is played through by a lovely one-two with Delano Burgzorg.

Derby keeper Jacob Zetterstrom is out smartly to keep out Hackney's attempted chip.

    Another great chance for Boro!

Right-back Callum Brittain runs and runs and runs before his slide rule pass tees up Tommy Conway one-one-one, but he misses the ball completely!

  18. goal

GOAL: Bristol City 1-0 Portsmouthpublished at 15:11 GMT 1 January

    Adam Randell (11 mins)

The hosts are ahead and what a strike it is!

A free-kick comes in from the right and is headed clear but falls to the feel of Adam Randell who strikes the ball with his right foot before sending it into the top right-hand corner.

That was from around 25 to 30 yards out, one of the goals of the season so far.

  19. Postpublished at 15:10 GMT 1 January

    Southampton 0-0 Millwall

Something interesting to note from how Southampton have lined up early on.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis is in the middle of the back three as opposed to Nathan Wood who has today been pushed out on the right-hand side.

  20. A Swansea side short of goalspublished at 15:09 GMT 1 January

    Swansea 0-0 West Brom

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at the Swansea.com Stadium

Swansea have begun this game without a striker, with Adam Idah and Liam Cullen injured and in-form Zan Vipotnik only on the bench as a result of the hectic fixture list at this time of year.

Vitor Matos has gone with attacking midfielder Melker Widell up front rather than young forward Bobby Wales.

Widell, like two others in Swansea's front four this afternoon, has never scored a goal in English football - but it is the home side making the early running nevertheless.
