Faes starting for Monaco tonight shows the embarrassment of riches in the English game. Can’t get a start at lowly championship Leicester. Now starting in a Champions League knockout match against PSG!

    Not a bad sub, like.

  5. Postpublished at 20:27 GMT 17 February

    Benfica 0-0 Real Madrid

Now an attempt by Kylian Mbappe about 25 yards out.

That would have been sensational had that found the top corner. Instead it found Row Z.

Ignore the scoreline. There's been nine attempts already - five on target. It's a good watch.

Thibaut Courtois is going to his right-hand-side, and he has got to get down quickly to his left. It is a good, solid save.

  9. CLOSE!published at 20:25 GMT 17 February

    Benfica 0-0 Real Madrid

    Almost a goal for Benfica!

Fredrik Aursnes goes for glory from outside the box and his attempt takes a deflection which forces Thibaut Courtois into a smart save.

That's the closest the hosts have come to breaking the deadlock.

    Borussia Dortmund 1-0 Atalanta

Atalanta seem to have settled into this one, despite falling behind early on.

They're controlling the majority of the ball as they look for a way to level in Germany.

    Glenn Hoddle

Wout Faes is the most relieved man in the stadium. Terrific save.

It might be one of them nights for PSG. They have to dig deep and show character because at the moment, everything is going away from them.

Vinícius Júnior should have scored. Brilliant work down the right-hand-side, first from Trent Alexander-Arnold, who pulls it into Federico Valverde, and then it falls to Vinícius. He tried to guide it into the corner. Big, big opportunity.

  16. CLOSE!published at 20:21 GMT 17 February

    Benfica 0-0 Real Madrid

    Huge chance for Real...

Trent Alexander-Arnold is heavily involved in the move which ends with Vinícius Junior producing a clever turn inside the box and firing just wide.

Real Madrid are starting to look dangerous.

    Benfica 0-0 Real Madrid

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on Amazon Prime

A good ball in and not a bad header, but it didn't really trouble the goalkeeper. Most teams feel like they can get at Real Madrid.

  20. Postpublished at 20:18 GMT 17 February

A couple of attempts for the home side.

First, a header by Tomas Araujo straight at the keeper and then a tame shot which is comfortably saved after Real sloppily gave away possession.
