Arsenal lead on the night and overall - and deservedly so. They have been much the better team at Emirates Stadium and only some fine saves from Janis Blaswich kept it level.

But there was nothing he could do about a magnificent blaster from Eberechi Eze to put the Gunners ahead and 45 minutes away from a quarter-final tie against Sporting.

Just get the next goal and see what happens.

Rejinders plays it quickly before Real Madrid were ready, lovely ball for Doku, who's looked bright in the last ten minutes.

Not the cleanest of finishes from Haaland, but they all count.

Leverkusen have really struggled in this first half. Arsenal have just put so much pressure on and they don't know what to do against it. Now they've got a goal, they might ease back a bit, but that may cause even more problems for them.

Arsenal are at it tonight. They are making is so difficult for Leverkusen.

What a way to score your first Champions League goal. That is sensational. What a hit. With his right foot, it's out of nothing, it's a ball bouncing about, loose in the air. Eze's first touch with his left, swivels and as it sat up on his right, he just powers it in. Middle of the goal but right near that post. The goalkeeper had no chance, it went past him in a flash.

A consolation - or something more?

Great work by Jeremy Doku to find Erling Haaland and the Norwegian turns it over the line from close range.

They might be playing with 10 men but Manchester City are not waving the white flag just yet.
