Very impressed with Gian Van Veen - looks destined to play Luke Humphries in the quarter finals. Now that will be a match.

  4. Half of the top 16 already outpublished at 20:50 GMT 28 December 2025

Fourth seed Stephen Bunting is the highest-ranked player eliminated from the tournament so far - but he is far from alone in being among the big names to bite the dust.

13th-seed Martin Schindler and 16th-ranked Damon Heta were heavily beaten this afternoon. So while you might expect the 16 highest seeds to all be in contention for the last 16, the reality is far from it.

Here are the players in the top 16 who have exited before round four - will Luke Humphries or Michael van Gerwen join them?

    • Stephen Bunting (4)
    • Danny Noppert (6)
    • James Wade (7)
    • Chris Dobey (8)
    • Gerwyn Price (9)
    • Ross Smith (12)
    • Martin Schindler (13)
    • Damon Heta (16)

We told you earlier that injured Tottenham midfielder James Maddison was in the crowd. There he is above. It's been a good day for him, with his side winning away at Crystal Palace earlier.

He's not the only sporting superstar in the house though. Some of the Europe Ryder Cup-winning side are in too. Here's Shane Lowry enjoying his evening.
