Former champion Luke Humphries survived a scare to progress to the fourth round of the PDC World Championship as four previous winners won on Sunday.
Humphries, who beat Luke Littler to win the 2024 title, saw off Germany's Gabriel Clemens 4-2.
Three-time winner Michael van Gerwen also progressed with a 4-1 win over Germany debutant Arno Merk.
Anderson won a final-set thriller against Jermaine Wattimena in the afternoon to progress alongside 2018 winner Rob Cross.
Cross brushed aside Australian 16th seed Damon Heta in a comfortable 4-0 win and will face defending champion Luke Littler in the next round.
The Netherlands' 10th seed Gian van Veen also progressed after seeing off Latvia's Madars Razma with a 4-1 victory, while 20th seed Ryan Searle reached the fourth round for the first time since 2021 with a 4-0 demolition of Germany's Martin Schindler.

Humphries won the first set against Clemens despite averaging just 89.82, before a second-set average of 108.59.
Clemens won the fourth set without dropping a leg, and took out 121 and 116 finishes. He also claimed set five, winning eight of 11 legs across set threes to five.
This was not a case of Humphries' level dropping - he took out 170 in set five and averaged 103.25 and 110.25 in the two that Clemens won.
Humphries averaged 100.14 across the match to Clemens' 101.49 - the 10th highest match average in the entire tournament.
While we haven't seen any nine-darters yet, we have seen plenty of 170 checkouts - the highest finish possible in darts.
And Luke Humphries, tonight against Gabriel Clemens, became the 10th player this tournament to win a leg by hacking up two T20s with bullseye.
Here's the roll of honour:

Van Gerwen 4-1 Merk
Michael van Gerwen, speaking to Sky Sports: "Was there a contest? Not for me. He played well, but I have more in my power.
"When I had to do well I played really good darts, of course he won one set when he got away a little, but I can't really complain.
"You can never underestimate anyone, they can turn so you need to stay sharp on top of your own game."
On facing Gary Anderson in the next round: "Me and Gary always have good games, he is playing fantastic at this tournament. I know I have to step up a bit."
Van Gerwen 4-1 Merk
Van Gerwen averaged a shade under 100 in that match, and had double the number of shots at doubles compared to Merk.
Merk played his part, but there was only ever one realistic winner.
Van Gerwen 4-1 Merk (3-1)
No, but a 134 leaves MvG with three at D18 for the match...
Secured with the second.
It's Van Gerwen v Anderson in round four. Woof.
Van Gerwen 3-1 Merk (2-1)
Van Gerwen is 9-2 up in 180s today, and has thrown 16 140s. His scoring has kept Merk at bay.
Can he reel in the Big Fish to wrap this all up?
Van Gerwen 3-1 Merk (2-1)
Arno Merk looks like he knows he is going to fall just short here.
He needs 72 to extend this match - and does so!
He makes Van Gerwen throw for his win.

Michael van Gerwen has reacted really well to this challenge.
Van Gerwen 3-1 Merk (2-0)
Van Gerwen means business now - he knocks in 180. But Merk responds! That's 11 for the match.
MvG can't find 121 to finish, but Merk this time can't make 145.
Cleaned up by the Dutchman for four successive legs - he's now one from the last 16.
Van Gerwen 3-1 Merk (1-0)
Can Van Gerwen clean this up, or dopes Merk have more in his locker?
The qualifier has the darts, and will look to improve on the 86 average in his last set.
But van Gerwen is first to a finish, 130 - but chooses to set up, assuming Merk won't pop 152.
He's right, and MvG breaks.

Van Gerwen 3-1 Merk
The third leg in the fourth set was a 20-darter from Michael van Gerwen. He has given Arno Merk chances.
In the first and third legs, Merk had checkout darts at bull. It could easily have been 0-3, and 2-2 overall.
Van Gerwen 3-1 Merk (3-1)
Michael van Gerwen opens up this leg with 180, and rattles his way to a finish in double quick time.
He needs 55 for the set... easily done.
MvG, after all that, is close to victory.
Van Gerwen 2-1 Merk (2-1)
Arno Merk is celebrating every leg with gusto, he really believes he can do something here.
Van Gerwen won't be having any of that - but he's missed a couple more at tops! Then another three at doubles!
Merk however misses his finish at the bull. He has missed a big chance there.
