Luke Littler says he is "back" after making a slow start to the 2026 Premier League Darts.

The world number one won just one match across the opening four nights before triumphing in Cardiff last week. Days later he won the UK Open in Minehead for a second year running.

"I had a little dry spell, but I think I can say I’m back," said Littler.

"The form hasn’t gone my way in the Premier League, so to win in Cardiff meant a lot.

"I don’t think many people expected me to win in the Premier League on Thursday, and I don’t think many people expected me to come to the UK Open and win.

"I played well in patches, missed a lot of doubles, but if I can win major titles not playing my best, what can I do playing my best?"

It's certainly not been a bad week for Luke Littler.

After finally claiming his first night victory of the 2026 Premier League Darts in Cardiff last week, the world number one won the UK Open for the second year in a row.

Littler saw off James Wade 11-7 in the final in Minehead on Sunday, 12 months on from thrashing the same opponent 11-2 in the 2025 decider.

The 19-year-old became the first player since Michael van Gerwen in 2015 and 2016 to win the 'FA Cup of darts' back-to-back.

Littler raced 3-0 ahead in the best-of-21-legs final but was pegged back to 3-3 by Wade. Littler promptly won the next three legs before, remarkably, Wade drew level again at 6-6.

Three-time UK Open champion Wade was averaging just 88 at that point while Littler was at a shade over 100 - but some slack finishing by the world number one allowed 'The Machine' to stay in the contest.

But while Wade raised his level and Littler never reached anywhere close to his best, the teenager was still able to reel off four straight legs from 7-7 to seal victory.

Luke Littler couldn't get enough of the 'Big Fish' checkouts as he spoiled Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton's homecoming to take overall victory on night five in Cardiff.

The 19-year-old took a 6-4 win over Josh Rock in the quarter-finals, beat Price 6-3 in the semi-finals, and then saw off Clayton 6-4 in a high-quality final to seal his first night win of the 2026 Premier League campaign.

The home crowd's dream of an all-Welsh final only made it as far as the semi-finals, as Price beat night four winner Stephen Bunting in a deciding leg before being knocked out by the back-to-back world champion.

Littler surged up to third in the table with the victory, while another final appearance for Clayton saw him remain top of the table.
