Luke Humphries talking to Sky Sports: "Every single player outside the top four can go on a run and force their way in but I know from experience that I can do it. In 2024 I went on that run on three of a trot and I can do that again but it just about getting over the line.

"If I can get over the line once I feel like I can qualify but time is running out. I need to start winning games and a nightly win soon."

Gian van Veen is a brilliant player. He's a potential winner of every event he enters.

It can go wrong up there though but if he wins tonight, it would be such a boost for him.

Dutchman Gian van Veen says playing in the Premier League in Rotterdam is "something I won't ever forget in my life".

The 23-year-old is still waiting for his first nightly win, but has made it to four finals across the opening ten nights.

“I’m very excited. It’s the night I was looking most forward to and it’s finally going to happen," he said. "I still remember the first time it was held here in Rotterdam in 2016 - I was there in the crowd. I would have never thought that ten years later, I would be on that stage, but here we are!

“As soon as I got the invite, the 16th of April was marked with a red circle in the calendar.

“This is something I won’t ever forget in my life so I’m mostly going to enjoy it - but of course, it’s another game and especially against Luke Humphries, a main rival for a top four spot."

Luke Humphries, meanwhile, is under pressure as he is currently sitting seventh in the table, five points off the play-off places, having lost his past four quarter-finals.

Will we see Luke Littler take on Gian van Veen in Rotterdam?

Van Veen has to get past Luke Humphries in the quarter-finals to set up that tie.

After such a disappointing night in Brighton last week, it was much more like it from Luke Littler there.

He finishes with an average of 97.30 despite a rare game without a 180 and was 40% on the outer ring.

Meanwhile, Gerwyn Price - so supreme in Manchester a couple of weeks ago - falls at the quarter-final stage for the second week running.

He was 50% on the doubles and hit three 180s but failed to hit the trebles as often as he'd have liked and ends with a 91.44 average.

The trebles elude Gerwyn Price completely at the start of this leg and he quickly finds himself trailing.

Luke Littler hits tops at the first time of asking and is two legs up again.

Break after break in this match.

It's taken a while but Gerwyn Price delivers the first 180 of the night!

He immediately gives up the advantage that gave him by scoring just 11 on his next visit.

The Ice Man finds himself needing 110 with Luke Littler set to go 4-1 up... and gets it, finishing on double top.

There is no reaction from Luke Littler. He is just in a zone that all darts players strive for.

Luke Littler just misses the bull for a 167 but it's no bother, he is back to hit double 10 and re-establish that two-leg cushion.

The boos are having very little effect so far.

Rotterdam Ahoy erupts as Gerwyn Price takes out 104 to break straight back!

Luke Littler has missed tops to make it 3-0 but Gezzy is on the board and it's game on.

The boos keep coming but it doesn't stop Luke Littler from stealing in with a superbly 124 out to break.

Gerwyn Price had been in control but couldn't hit tops and Littler made him pay.

A little wag of the finger to the crowd as well, for good measure.

The atmosphere is incredible. They will play a part tonight.

Luke Littler was shown on the screen earlier and there was booing and hissing. He's got to put up with that now, he's created this situation for himself and he's got to hold it together.

But so do Michael van Gerwen and Gian van Veen - there is pressure and expectation and they've got to put up with that.

Cheers every time that Luke Littler fails to hit a treble, while every treble from Gerwyn Price is loudly cheered.

The world champion is first down to a finish first, though, and goes on to hit double eight to hold.
