Stephen Bunting had a tough start to this season, being knocked out in his opening game in each of the first three weeks.

But, since winning night four in Belfast, things have improved for the 40-year-old and he reached the semi-finals last week.

Luke Littler, who won night five, made the semi-finals on night six, but was beaten by Luke Humphries.

Littler has got the better of Bunting on four of the five times they have met in the Premier League, Will the same happen tonight?

It is a disaster for Gian van Veen.

If he misses a week it is OK but if he misses more it is a disaster and he could miss out on the play-offs.

Michael van Gerwen has had a right touch and a right result. He's not been picking up points recently.

World Championship runner-up Gian van Veen has pulled out of tonight's Premier League trip to Dublin due to having kidney stones.

The Dutchman was due to face compatriot Michael van Gerwen in a repeat of the week one final, but he's just been diagnosed with having kidney stones.

The 23-year-old had started the tournament really nicely, he'd not managed a win yet but had made it to three finals in the first six weeks to sit in fourth place in the table.

Van Veen is having treatment in hospital so his availibility or next week is also in doubt.

Jonny Clayton, who beat Luke Humphries in the final on night six, currently tops the standings.

He thrashed Humphries 6-1 in the final to claim his second Premier League night of the season.

The Welshman struggled with gout in his ankle all night in Nottingham, but while his walking was hampered his throw certainly was not.

The 2021 Premier League champion averaged more than 99 and was a brilliant 67% on his doubles to become the first man to win two league nights this season after five different victors in the first five weeks.

Clayton saved his best for the final after being steady if unspectacular when beating both Michael van Gerwen and Stephen Bunting 6-3 with an almost identical average that was just above 95.

Humphries had earlier ended Luke Littler's bid for back-to-back victories in a thrilling 6-5 semi-final victory, but his wait for a first league win of the season goes on after disappointing in the final.
