  1. Wade breaks backpublished at 19:26 GMT 8 March

    Wade 1-2 Price

The advantage doesn't last long as James Wade hits back immediately.

It's been a cracking start to this match, both players are playing at a high level and Wade hits another 180 on his way to winning the leg.

He just needs one dart at double 10 to wrap it up.

  2. Price breakspublished at 19:24 GMT 8 March

    Wade 0-2 Price

He faced break darts in the opening leg and now Gerwyn Price has broken the throw himself.

The Welshman needs 41 with James Wade waiting on 61, hits the big one then gives himself a moment before stepping up to nail the double 20.

    Wade 0-1 Price

What looked a comfortable hold for Gerwyn Price, who has six darts to win it from 170, suddenly gets tricky.

That's because of a 180 from James Wade to take him down to 80.

However, Wade misses two at double 10 to break and Price hits tops to edge ahead.

    Wade v Price

First up this evening, it's James Wade against Gerwyn Price.

Wade ground out a 10-9 victory over fellow Englishman Rob Cross in the quarters and remains in the hunt for a fourth UK Open title.

Meanwhile, Price overcame Jonny Clayton 10-8 in an exciting all-Welsh tie in the previous round this afternoon.

The Ice Man has never won this competition, reaching the final in 2017 and 2020, and will hope this is the year he can finally get over the line.

Except for 2021, when the event was moved to Milton Keynes because of the Covid pandemic, Butlin's in Minehead has been the home of the UK Open since 2014.

There are eight boards in operation during the early rounds because of the sheer volume of matches that need to be played during the three-day tournament.

Tonight, though, all of the focus is on the main stage as the 2026 champion will be crowned.

Brilliantly finished off by Gerwyn Price!

The most timely of 180s - the Ice Man's 10th of the match - leaves him needing just 42 with Jonny Clayton some way back.

Two, tops is the route he takes and he needs just one at tops to seal.

A great match that really kicked up a notch in the latter stages.

That break is a massive moment.

Clayton used the lie of that first 60 to set up the shot at double 18 for the 156 out.

    It's got very good, this.

We're weren't on throw for long!

A superb leg sees Gerwyn Price miss two at tops to give Jonny Clayton a shot at a 156... that he so nearly takes.

But he misses the double 18 and Gerwyn Price hits double 12 to regain that break advantage.
