Price got that bullseye so right.

More importantly it stops the rot of legs, but he's going to need so much more from here.

    Gerwyn Price needed that!

The Welshman stops the rot with a superb 121 checkout, finishing on the bull.

It ends a run of six straight legs for James Wade but the Englishman is still very well placed to reach his fifth UK Open final.

    Wade 9-5 Price

    Clinical from James Wade.

There is no let up from him now, he's living up to his nickname of the Machine.

Gerwyn Price had just missed the chance to reel in the big fish and Wade wasn't waiting around, hitting double 10 at the first time of asking to move to within two legs of victory.

There was no setting up on that one.

That's James Wade at his clinical best.

  5. Wade takes out 167!published at 19:57 GMT 8 March

    Wade 8-5 Price

Gerwyn Price needs something here and starts the leg with a 180... but that is as good as it gets for him.

James Wade is really hitting his stride, though, and takes out 167 as if it were nothing.

He couldn't lay up this time so he just fires his third dart into the bullseye. Another break and that's five legs in a row for Wade.

  6. Postpublished at 19:54 GMT 8 March

    Wade 7-5 Price

A few boos as James Wade lays up rather than going for the bull on the 161.

It was the sensible move, though, with Gerwyn Price not down to a finish.

And it works out, double 10 gives the Machine a two-leg cushion.

  7. Wade breakspublished at 19:53 GMT 8 March

    Wade 6-5 Price

James Wade leads for the first time in the match.

He hits double six after Gerwyn Price is unable to hit bullseye for a 127 out.

The Welshman only got 40 on his previous visit when needing 167 and that's what really cost him.

If you were in any doubt of the standard of this match, just take a look at the averages...

    • James Wade: 105.96
    • Gerwyn Price: 105.13

    That is top class.

Loads of 180s from Wade, clinical stuff on the outer ring from Price.

We're all square heading into the break.

    Six more legs needed.

  10. Wade takes out 136published at 19:46 GMT 8 March

    Wade 5-5 Price

    Superb!

James Wade levels it up with a fantastic 136 checkout - and, frankly, it never seemed in doubt.

All square after 10 legs and if you have any inkling which way this one is going to go then you're ahead of me.

Yet another break and it's a 13-darter for James Wade.

It's the Englishman's turn to hit tops this time.

Back and forth we go. It has been an enthralling game so far.

When you miss, the other will punish at this level.

Tops is on the end of Gerwyn Price's arm at the minute.

This is the sort of darts he was throwing when he lifted the world crown.

Another leg that could go either way and this time it's James Wade who slips up.

He can't checkout on 54 and Gerwyn Price is ready and waiting to hit tops for the umpteenth time today to break once more.

Eight legs in this match so far, we've had five breaks of throw.

  14. Postpublished at 19:40 GMT 8 March

    Wade 3-4 Price

Tops for Gerwyn Price to hold and edge ahead again.

But it's yet another leg with a break chance. I'm struggling to think of a leg so far that both players haven't had darts to win.

To say it has been closely contested would be an understatement!

  15. Postpublished at 19:38 GMT 8 March

    Wade 3-3 Price

Darts missed for a fifth break of throw in a row and, finally, James Wade holds his throw in this semi-final.

Another 180 helped the Machine to get into that position. He is really zoning in on that treble 20 bed so far tonight.

That's a rare mistake from Price. He's thought the treble one left him on 62 and he's gone treble 14 for double ten.

A beautiful start, but a crazy end.

    Wade 2-3 Price

Four breaks in a row after a costly miscount from Gerwyn Price!

The Ice Man needs 68, strays into the treble one but then goes treble 14 to leave 23...

He has to lay up and James Wade, who so nearly took out 134, is back to hit double 10.

It's 3-2 at the first mini break. Price will know it could, perhaps should, be 4-1.

It's almost as if when you're on for the nine, it's a poisoned chalice.

That break from Price after seven perfect darts from Wade is a big swing moment.

  19. Price breaks againpublished at 19:29 GMT 8 March

    Wade 1-3 Price

Applause for the Minehead crowd after James Wade comes within two darts of the perfect leg... but somehow he loses the leg!

Wade made a bit of a mess of it after seven perfect darts to start and Gerwyn Price narrowly misses out on getting the 167 out.

When he can't hit the double 16, Wade has three at double five but misses them all and the Ice Man is back to pinch the leg.

You could sense the nerves in the afternoon session.

There's absolutely no nerves here this evening.
