Gerwyn Price is still in that unenviable position where he needs to find that break of throw. The problem he has got is he hasn't made any kind of inroads when he has got into a position to potentially break his opponent.

As the game goes on, there's just added pressure because of that scenario.

The fans' dream of an all-Welsh final is hanging by a thread.

Relentless stuff from Luke Littler. He holds comfortably to put himself a leg away from the final.

This is as good as we've seen Luke Littler in this year's Premier League but Gerwyn Price is refusing to let him take this semi-final away from him.

The Welshman holds with a 13-darter to get back to within a leg again. He needs a break, though.

That's a huge finish from Luke Littler.

That's a second ton-plus checkout for him and it keeps him ahead with a nice two-leg buffer.

Another ton-plus finish from Luke Littler - and he celebrates it with a pretty solid impression of Gerwyn Price after a big finish.

It's brilliant stuff from the world champion but Price is starting to look a whole lot better himself.

He has to cling on for now.

Gerwyn Price had to hope that Luke Littler finish didn't go there!

He is well in this match after taking advantage of his opponent's little slip with the opening dart.

Now he has to hope there's a little bit of a lull coming for Luke Littler.

Big shout of celebration from Gerwyn Price as he hits double six to hold.

    He needed that.

Luke Littler is hitting that treble 20 relentlessly and that means Price will be under pressure in just about every leg.

Double 10 hit and it's the most straightforward of holds for Luke Littler.

The crowd that was so loud in the previous semi-final is suddenly that much more subdued.

The Nuke is threatening to run away with this one...

Chants of ‘Wales’ fill the air as Gerwyn Price takes out double tops to move within a leg of the reigning world darts champion.

Nearly another break for Luke Littler but the world champion misses tops and Gerwyn Price is able to swoop in and get himself on the board.

That is a vital hold for the Ice Man because he was in danger of being blown away by Littler.

This is some emphatic start here from Luke Littler!

We did say we were waiting for this version of Luke Littler to turn up.

This is more like the Luke Littler we've come to expect in the past couple of years.

Another 180 to start and he finishes equally impressively with a 121 out.

Gerwyn Price is up against it already.

An early 180 from Littler just to take the energy out of the crowd. With Jonny Clayton already through, Gerwyn Price will be hoping to join him in what would be an All-Welsh final in Wales.

    Brilliant start from Luke Littler.

He sets his stall out with a 180 to start then fires in two more trebles 20s before the nine-dart attempt goes astray.

No bother, he keeps going and hits tops for a 13-darter.

Luke Littler was throwing so soft he was literally lobbing the darts [in his quarter-final].

When he's at it he throws with pace and power, but there was none of that and every one of them just floated in.

I don't know if it's because he was trying something different or if it's because he has lost a bit of confidence.

When you throw softer, it is really hard to group the darts. When you throw hard, you can throw hard all the time.

I don't say this very often, but he's there for the taking right now.

Gerwyn Price talking to Sky Sports after progressing to the semi-finals: "It was hard work because I wasn't playing fantastically, the same with Stephen [Bunting] because we were both scoring in patches. The crowd sort of got me through that game. I thought I played alright, I just wasn't clinical enough and I couldn't score enough but I got over the line anyway.

"I just wanted one chance, that's all I needed. All you need is one match dart and thankfully he missed, leaving me to take it out.

"Honestly, it's brilliant every time we come to Wales. We are still on for an all-Welsh final, so fingers crossed that happens. The crowd definitely put Stephen [Bunting] off, it has happened to me plenty of times. I do feel for him."

    Result: Humphries 4-6 Clayton

The winning numbers for Jonny Clayton then: an average of 94.98 and 35.29% on the outer ring.

Steady rather than spectacular but it was enough.

Luke Humphries averaged 91.06 and had a bit of a shocker on the doubles, hitting just 23.53%.

It's worth saying that the numbers for both men were dragged well down by that remarkably slack first leg but even so, not great for Humphries.

It is all going to script for the home crowd in Cardiff.

Jonny Clayton is through to the final, now the pressure is on Gerwyn Price to make it an all-Welsh final.

Just the small task of beating back-to-back world champion Luke Littler in the semi-final.

    Simple... right?
