    Glamorgan 18-1 v Leicestershire

Another maiden over from Leicester's Ian Holland who has found his stride very quickly this morning.

Glamorgan have struggled to get going so far after electing to bat with the run rate currently at a pedestrian 1.50.

  2. Latest from Derbypublished at 11:53 BST 24 April

    Derbys v Glos 25-1

    Miserly bowling from Derbyshire.

They are into the 12th over and Gloucestershire have yet to hit a boundary.

Cameron Bancroft is 19 not out and Oliver Price is on three.

  3. Durham take two early wickets in CLSpublished at 11:50 BST 24 April

    Lancashire 53-2

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham's decision to bowl first in CLS took a few people by surprise, particularly with Kemar Roach was left out of the starting line-up as a precaution because of muscle soreness.

But the decision was based on the fact the track has a green tinge to it.

Lancashire got a few inside edges to the boundary and hit a few loose balls for four. But then Matty Potts got into his stride and had George Balderson caught at second slip by Kasey Aldridge for 14.

That was in the sixth over and Lancashire went from 35-1 to 48-2 a short time later, when Sam Conners had Josh Bohannon caught at point from his first ball of the day. Potts took the catch.

It's a lovely day in the North East. We have blue skies and there's hardly a breath of wind to be noticed.

  4. Postpublished at 11:50 BST 24 April

    Surrey v Essex 42-0

    Near thing!

A mix-up over a single and Dom Sibley's throw just misses the stumps.

Paul Walter would have been a gonner if that had hit.

WICKETpublished at 11:49 BST 24 April

    Compton c Brookes b Hannon-Dalby 4 (Worcestershire v Kent 21-1)

Olly Hannon-Dalby has impressed in his loan spell with Worcestershire and has another wicket to add to his tally!

The Pears have four slips in place for Ben Compton and Hannon-Dalby finds the edge to send the ball into the hands of Ethan Brookes at second slip.

Compton, who has a century to his name this season and often bats for hours on end, goes uncharacteristically cheaply.

  6. Postpublished at 11:49 BST 24 April

    Durham v Lancashire 53-2

Sam Conners races in around the wicket, and after a leaning edge from Keaton Jennings, Conners attempts to take a catch off his own bowling but it drops just short.

Terrific attempt from the fast bowler. Maiden over - the first of the day.

  7. Postpublished at 11:48 BST 24 April

    Surrey v Essex 41-0

A bit too much width from Sean Abbott and Paul Walter is able to effortlessly run that one down wide of third slip for four. Walter is 17 not out and partner Dean Elgar has 21. Not too many major alarms yet for the Essex pair.

  8. Bears bring up 50published at 11:48 BST 24 April

    Notts v Warwickshire 50-1

Warwickshire have recovered well from the early loss of Alex Davies - and they have just brought up 50 with the final ball of the tenth over following a flurry of boundaries.

Dan Mousley has raced to 35 from just 25 balls, while Rob Yates at the other end has been comparably watchful. The Trent Bridge outfield, on what is a glorious day in Nottingham, is predictably quick.

  9. Swanepoel's delayed startpublished at 11:47 BST 24 April

    Worcestershire v Kent 21-0

With Beyers Swanepoel into the action for the first time in a Worcestershire shirt it's worth mentioning why he missed the opening couple of matches.

His former South African side the Lions said Swanepoel left the field early in their 50-over cup final against Titans on 29 March without permission and also without the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from them and Cricket South Africa which overseas players need to play in England.

The Lions have since said they have reached a "mutual agreement to part ways with immediate effect" with the 27-year-old who had a spell in County Cricket with Kent in 2024.

Swanepoel said he wanted to "sincerely apologise to the Lions family" and added that "many lessons have been learnt".

Beautifully sunny at New Road. Not a cloud in the sky, barely a breath of wind. Isn't county cricket marvellous?

To borrow from Laurel and Hardy, "it certainly is".....

  11. 50 runs

50 up for Lancashirepublished at 11:40 BST 24 April

    Durham v Lancashire 52-2

Moments after Josh Bohannon was caught at cover, Lancashire's Marcus Harris gets off the mark, running one down to third man as the visitors move past 50.

It has taken the Red Rose just 8.4 overs this morning to move onto a half-century with the run rate practically a run a ball so far.

  12. Postpublished at 11:38 BST 24 April

    Worcestershire v Kent 13-0

Olly Hannon-Dalby and Tom Taylor have been keeping things tight for the Pears against Kent at New Road but Zak Crawley has found a few boundaries in his 13 from 22 balls.

Crawley's top score in his opening four innings this season is 26.

He also hit 20, nine and five.

  13. Postpublished at 11:37 BST 24 April

    Notts v Warwickshire 35-1

The first bowling change of the morning sees Josh Tongue enter the attack, in front of the watching Rob Key. His first delivery to Rob Yates is a middle and leg yorker which Yates somehow manages to gets bat on and it runs down to fine leg for a couple of runs.

Plenty of pace and carry in Tongue's first over, a promising start to his spell.

    Bohannon c Potts b Conners 5 (Durham v Lancashire 48-2)

First ball into the attack and Sam Conners has done the trick for Durham!

His first delivery after replacing the expensive Ben Raine is a short wide one which Josh Bohannon can only drive aerially to Matthew Potts at cover who takes a good catch.

Poor shot from Bohannon who has to drag himself off.

Enthralling start to the match at Chester-le-Street. Marcus Harris walks to the crease for Lancashire.

  15. Postpublished at 11:33 BST 24 April

    Glamorgan 11-1 v Leicestershire

Nice flick off the pads through midwicket by Asa Tribe goes for a couple as Glamorgan attempt to steady the ship following Eddie Byrom's early dismissal.

  16. Postpublished at 11:31 BST 24 April

    Yorkshire v Sussex 26-0

A good opening half-hour for the visitors with Tom Haines only dealing in boundaries so far - he's hit six fours in his 24 not out.

Daniel Hughes is providing more sedate batting at the other end with one run from 22 deliveries.

Jhye Richardson has been expensive for Yorkshire so far - going for 25 from his four overs while Jack White has bowled three maidens.

Thomas Haines looks very similar to Duckett on his shots and set ups. Looks very comfortable facing Richardson, who is certainly of international pedigree.

We asked you for your views on the Jacob Bethell situation. Alastair Cook says he should be playing in the Championship, not the IPL - Kevin Pietersen disagrees. Here's a couple of thoughts from you.

I see people jumping into either the Cook or Pietersen camp. I say they're both right!

    Robert, Norfolk

As always with Pietersen there is a middle ground that he is unwilling to accept. Bethell benefits from being at the IPL, but would benefit from leaving early if not playing and getting some time in the middle before NZ. He barely played last summer and it showed vs India

    Ed, London

Rob Key probably gone to Trent Bridge to watch Jacob Bethell batting for Warwickshire ... sighs ...

  18. Postpublished at 11:29 BST 24 April

    Surrey v Essex 32-0

Early change by Surrey as Sean Abbott replaces Tom Lawes, whose first three overs cost 15 runs.

The Australian's first delivery raps Paul Walter on the pads in adjacent position to the stumps - but it's a no-ball!

  19. Postpublished at 11:27 BST 24 April

    Notts v Warwickshire 23-1

Alex Davies' Warwickshire opening partner Rob Yates has been watchful in the opening stages of his innings but he has just driven Brett Hutton back down the ground for a welcome boundary.

Joined at the crease by fellow left-hander Dan Mousley, Warwickshire's number three has not, by comparison, hung around - his first two balls faced found the rope and he has quickly raced to 13.

    Balderson c Aldridge b Potts 14 (Durham v Lancashire 35-1)

    Breakthrough for Durham!

After a couple of plays and misses, a lovely delivery from Matthew Potts is edged by George Balderson, and Kasey Aldridge does the obligatory at second slip - a good sharp catch low down.

Important first wicket for the hosts as Lancashire had started this one well.
