    Glamorgan 40-2 v Leicestershire

Two boundaries in the over for captain Kiran Carlson.

The second is fired through point as the right-hander moves onto 11 not out.

The third man area is proving very productive for Essex at The Oval.

Dean Elgar finds that boundary again off Jordan Clark, despite one hand coming off the bat, but the Surrey man responds with a cracker to beat the edge.

    Yates c Patterson-White b Tongue 18 (Notts v Warwickshire 73/2)

Breakthrough for Notts! Tongue, into his sixth over, bowls to Rob Yates and the delivery gets up on the Warwickshire opener. He can only help it to Liam Patterson-White at first slip, who takes a simple catch.

It brings Sam Hain, who famously loves batting at Trent Bridge, to the crease. His first ball faced is a wild no ball from Tongue which flies over the head of batter and helpless wicket-keeper Kyle Verreynne for extras.

  4. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 12:19 BST 24 April

    Durham v Lancashire 85-2

    Chance goes down for Durham.

Keaton Jennings (26 not out) flashes at one and it goes very quickly to Kasey Aldridge at second slip but he can't cling on for his second catch of the innings.

Goes down as a difficult chance, but a chance nonetheless.

The following delivery is beautifully driven through the covers by Marcus Harris for four more.

    Durham v Lancashire 81-2

    More extras off Ben Raine.

After Sam Conners' maiden over from the other end, Raine's first ball of his seventh over goes for four byes.

Ollie Robinson behind the stumps had no chance with that one.

Two balls later, Keaton Jennings punches one off the back foot downwards towards cover for four more - dissecting two fielders perfectly.

    Notts v Warwickshire 66-1

Warwickshire opener Rob Yates has had to be patient this morning but he has just cashed in - picking up a short ball from Dillon Pennington, Yates hooks and guides it down to backward square leg for four.

Josh Tongue almost made a breakthrough when he beat the outside edge of Dan Mousley a moment ago, but a couple of deliveries later Mousley successfully connects and drives through the covers for another boundary.

The Bears are negotiating this well at present having recovered from the wicket of Alex Davies at 5-1.

  7. Postpublished at 12:14 BST 24 April

    Surrey v Essex 66-0

A rare short of a length delivery from Jordan Clark is pulled away by Dean Elgar for four.

Sean Abbott continues at the other end and Paul Walter is onto the front foot and driving to the backward point boundary. Perhaps not quite where he intended but - as is so often said - they all count.

  8. Postpublished at 12:13 BST 24 April

    Durham v Lancashire 72-2

Beautiful delivery from Sam Conners - an absolute Jaffa this.

He beats the outside edge of Keaton Jennings' bat. Jennings had no answer to this.

Conners has impressed during his opening spell of the day after replacing Kemar Roach in Durham's XI. Maiden over.

    Crawley c Roderick b Waite 27 (Worcestershire v Kent 38-3)

    Zak Crawley's gone!

The England opener misjudges Matthew Waite's ball which goes through his defences and takes an inside edge in the tiny gap between bat and pad to give Pears wicketkeeper Gareth Roderick the catch.

Crawley looks like he wasn't sure he had touched it judging by his reaction but has to walk as the umpire gives the signal.

His score of 27 is his highest of the season so far - one better than the 26 he hit against Northants earlier this month.

    For those interested, I'm sure there are many, Crawley's scores this season so far: 26 - 5 - 9 - 20 - 27.

  10. Postpublished at 12:08 BST 24 April

    Durham v Lancashire 72-2

    Wides given.

Ben Raine has not found his line or length so far at all for Durham and the first delivery of his sixth over goes well wide of Ollie Robinson's right glove for four wides down at long leg.

Lancashire's run rate still looks very healthy despite the loss of those two wickets this morning.

  11. Postpublished at 12:06 BST 24 April

    Derbys v Glos 29-1

A boundary at last for Gloucestershire as Cameron Bancroft drives the final ball of the 14th over back past bowler Anuj Dal's left hand and down to the rope at mid-off. It's been tough going for Bancroft thus far - 23 not out from 52 balls.

  12. Postpublished at 12:04 BST 24 April

    Surrey v Essex 53-0

Misjudgement by Dean Elgar who offers no shot to a good one from Sean Abbott which cuts back in off the pitch.

It's the height that saves the Essex opener.

  13. Postpublished at 12:03 BST 24 April

    Durham v Lancashire 66-2

    Shot.

Slightly over-pitched by Sam Conners and Marcus Harris creams one through the covers for four.

  14. Postpublished at 12:01 BST 24 April

    Notts v Warwickshire 58-1

Notts had kept it a little tighter in the previous three overs, but Dan Mousley has just flicked Josh Tongue away through mid-wicket for another boundary. That brings up the 50 partnership between Mousley and Rob Yates - Mousley is responsible for 43 of them.

up for Essexpublished at 12:01 BST 24 April

    Surrey v Essex 52-0

Jordan Clark is a very good bowler to be operating as fourth seamer in this Surrey attack. He finds the edge of Dean Elgar's bat but the ball flies away wide of the slips for four. The South African advances to 28 not out.

"There is enough movement there to keep Surrey interested," says BBC Radio London's Mark Church.

    ul Hassan c Cox b Holland 7 (Glamorgan 23-2 v Leicestershire)

Second wicket for Leicestershire this morning - Zain ul Hassan won't want to watch this one back.

The left-handed batsman attempts to withdraw his bat out of the way - facing a delivery well outside off stump - but ends up edging behind with the bottom of his bat. Ben Cox takes a simple catch behind the stumps.

Ian Holland grabs his second wicket this morning for the Foxes!

Northeast lbw Swanepoel 3 (Worcestershire v Kent 32-2)

    It's raining wickets!

A second scalp for Worcestershire now as Sam Northeast is trapped lbw by Pears debutant Beyers Swanepoel.

The Kent batter looks absolutely plumb and Swanepoel strikes against his former side.

Another of Kent's reliable top order goes cheaply - Northeast has two half-centuries already this season.

Clark lbw White 0 (Yorkshire v Sussex 41-2)

    Two in the over!

Jack White's delivery hits new batter Tom Clark flush on the front pad and up goes the umpire's finger.

Clark departs without scoring from four balls and Yorkshire's Jack White has swung the momentum back towards his side after a positive opening from Sussex.

First boundary of the day for Glamorgan's Asa Tribe.

A half-volley is put away by the Jersey-born opener - crisply through the covers for four.

    Hughes c Bean b White 10 (Yorkshire v Sussex 41-1)

    Breakthrough for Yorkshire!

It had all been going swimmingly for Sussex but Jack White has found a thin edge and Finley Bean takes a sharp low catch to dismiss Daniel Hughes for 10 from 34 balls.
