The amount of movement from the India batters is throwing Gibson off.

  6. Ind 112-2published at 11 overs

    India straight back to it.

Jemimah Rodrigues cracks Dani Gibson for four through point, before a Yastika Bhatia single brings up the hundred partnership off 58 balls.

Rodrigues follows that with her seventh four, sending the ball just over mid-on.

Bhatia has found her timing and played intelligently. It is not easy to start a tour and come out and find her flow.

England have been mixed. The fielding in some of the ODIs was a little shaky and today there have been errors here and there.

I don't mind if there are mistakes now, as long as they are building over the next few games. This is a real test.

Ian: Looks like England are going to regret leaving Bouchier out if this goes on.

Matthew Lucas: Sorry but Issy Wong is not good enough to be in this England side - doesn't take wickets and goes for runs. Lauren Filer should replace her.

    Ind 101-2

    Lovely timing.

Yastika Bhatia steps down the pitch to Issy Wong and launches her for a one-bounce four through long-off.

She closes the over by whipping a two through mid-wicket, bringing up her half-century off 31 balls and taking India past 100.

A superb recovery effort from Bhatia on her return to the national side.

    Woops, Lauren Bell.

Jemimah Rodrigues reverse sweeps Sophie Ecclestone and the ball breaks through the fielding attempt of the England seamer and goes for four.

After an exchange of singles, Rodrigues carves Ecclestone through extra over for another boundary.

Now, Issy Wong is coming back into the attack...

Solomon: Is anyone else confused as to why we’ve used so much spin in the powerplay? There seemed to be decent movement on offer with the new ball.

  15. Ind 81-2published at 8 overs

    Good work from Charlie Dean.

England's stand-in captain concedes a couple of singles, with India batters reaching fielders in the deep, then sends down four dot balls to Yastika Bhatia.

India's 73-2 is the highest powerplay score against England in T20s. The previous high was by Sri Lanka, 67-1, also at Chelmsford in 2023

I don't think this is a wake-up call. It is exactly what England need.

If England lose today I don't think it is a bad thing going into the World Cup.

  19. Ind 79-2published at 7 overs

Dani Gibson takes the first over out of the powerplay, and dampens everything down a bit.

Jemimah Rodrigues starts with a pair of twos, the latter featuring a misfield from Sophia Dunkley, but the rest of the over features just a couple of singles.
