    We've got a check for a run-out at the non-striker's end after a throw from mid-on.

It would be a lazy dismissal if Heather Knight is out here.

A huge contrast in the powerplay for England and India.

The hosts need 10 runs an over already - India were 66-2 at this stage.

    Target 189

Heather Knight didn't find her groove during the New Zealand series. She kept getting out after starts but also struggled to up her scoring rate.

The former skipper has little option but to go hard today, given England need 10 runs per over from here.

Now would be a good time for Heather Knight to find some form.

It's well bowled from Kranti Gaud.

It's an expensive over, but a last short ball gets a toe-end through to the keeper.

    Capsey c Ghosh b Gaud 6 (Eng 37-2)

Ah. This is good bowling from seamer Kranti Gaud.

She knows Alice Capsey is looking to get after her so she bangs the ball in short as a bit of a surprise. Capsey chases it, attempting an upper cut, but gets a thin edge through to the keeper.

    England are struggling.

  7. Eng 36-1published at 3.4 overs

Amy Jones repeats the shot with a four of her own through the covers.

That is class from Alice Capsey, pure timing. Elegantly cut, it just races away to the boundary.

  9. Eng 31-1published at 3.2 overs

Alice Capsey has been starved of the strike early on but is right into her groove here as she cuts Kranti Gaud for four.

England needed it, a couple of dot balls and pressure starting to build.

Elegant drive from Amy Jones, umpire Anna Harris ducking and diving out of the way.

  11. Eng 27-1published at 3 overs

Need 162 more runs to win

That's a nice shot from Amy Jones, right on cue. It's another straight hit for four but more elegant than what we saw from Dunkley as she times the ball rather than swatting at it.

    Kieran Parmley

This is just the 13th time Amy Jones has batted in the top three in a T20 since the start of 2024 - she's averaged 25.8 while striking at 128 in her 12 innings there prior to today.

  13. Eng 21-1published at 2.4 overs

The question there though, Graham, is there aren't many wicketkeepers knocking down the door to take Jones' spot. Kira Chathli has been around this winter but didn't make the World Cup squad. Rhianna Southby and Ellie Threlkeld have been there too without being given a real go.

Graham Dodd: If Jones doesn’t perform with the bat in this series I think her position is up for grabs as she hasn’t had a good knock for ages and goodness knows what has happened with her glovework. I do love this team and just want them to succeed.

  15. Eng 19-1published at 2 overs

    Target 189

Amy Jones emerges in an unusual position at number three. She hasn't had loads of time in the middle over recent weeks.

She just didn't get hold of it but it was a shorter ball, into the pitch, from Gaud. She was cramped for room and slapped it to the fielder. She tried to predetermine her shot and the ball didn't allow for it.

    Dunkley c Verma b Gaud 16 (Eng 18-1)

Gone this time! Sophia Dunkley is raging. She smashes her pad with her bat after spooning a catch to mid-off.

She was targeting the straight boundary again but this one was shorter from Kranti Gaud. and Dunkley slices her hack.

That is her bread and butter - straight down the ground over mid-off.

Biffed for six by Sophia Dunkley!

    That's a fine straight hit.

It feels like Dunkley is batting for her place now Alice Capsey is scoring runs and Danni Wyatt-Hodge is about to come back.
