Wyatt-Hodge not really getting hold of it, but she gets enough for four.

  2. Eng 16-0published at 2.4 overs

Ireland's tidy start draws the false shot from Wyatt-Hodge, but she gets away with it.

She tries to hit Arlene Kelly down the ground but gets a top edge that flies just over mid-on and runs away for four more.

    Target 119

A lovely start from Orla Prendergast, just two from it.

She's done well to cramp Danni Wyatt-Hodge for room, with the England opener unable to access her favoured area through the off side.

The only way Ireland are going to win is by taking wickets.

England would back themselves to chase nine an over if they needed to.

There aren't many opening batters as fearless as Danni Wyatt-Hodge. She doesn't get nervous nineties or anything like that, she just sees the ball and hits it.

Sri Lanka didn't set good fields for her, but I hope Ireland have done their analysis and looked at that tonight.

    Target 119

    Nearly!

Wyatt-Hodge thumps a full toss to mid-on but the fielder Orla Prendergast looks to be in two minds between going for the catch or stopping the boundary.

In the end, she achieves neither. It's four.

England’s opening partnership averages 39 in T20 World Cups - the highest of all teams to participate.

    Target 119

Amy Jones is off the mark first ball, bringing last week's match-winner Danni Wyatt-Hodge on strike.

Aimee Maguire is opening the bowling for Ireland with her left-arm spin.

In case you missed it earlier, there was a surprise result in group two as Sri Lanka beat New Zealand by five wickets.

Their hopes of defending their title are on the brink now, but it makes the battle for the top two very interesting.

    Thanks, George.

Well, half the job is done for England. They'll expect to chase this target of 119 comfortably, but they should also be looking to do it quickly to avoid a net run-rate problem as we saw in 2024.

I'm going to hand over to Ffion Wynne for England's chase.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge - off the back of a century against Sri Lanka - will open up with Amy Jones shortly.

Charlie Dean speaking between innings: "It was brilliant to keep them a total that feels chaseable but you never know with T20 cricket.

"There was a little bit of bounce on offer which means there was overspin and the variation where the ball can just skid on as well. That can be really effective. I probably got away with my line a little but I enjoyed mixing up my shape today.

"First and foremost we want to win the game but to put on a show like we did in Birmingham - it would be great to bat like that again."

Some very valuable runs there for Ireland. It was lovely to see a youngster come in at the death and contribute a little cameo like that.

It was probably just one slower ball too many for Lauren Bell, it became a little bit predictable. It didn't go to plan for her today but cricket is a funny game, it's swings and roundabouts.

But she will learn from this and take the lessons to whenever England play one of the stronger teams.

Four fours from the final over!

Louise Little swings the final delivery of the innings behind square - a nice little cameo - she finishes on 26 from 15 balls and has given Ireland something to bowl at.

    More vital runs for Ireland.

Banged in by Lauren Bell and a top edge flies away to the boundary.

Amy Jones is stood up and would have likely caught that were she further back.

  17. Ire 110-9published at 19.3 overs

Louise Little advances down the track and smears one past mid-off for four.

And four more from the next delivery as Little cuts a shortish delivery through point.

    Sophie Ecclestone finishes with 3-22.

Lauren Bell will bowl the last.

    Wickets continue to tumble.

It's such a test for Ireland, to come in against some of the best bowlers in the world in this situation.

Even some of the top batters in the world game would struggle to come in and start smashing Sophie Ecclestone and Charlie Dean from ball one.

But England need to be clinical, they need to be ruthless. There are still some bits of frustration from them in the field because when it comes to playing the bigger teams, those one-percenters will be what makes the difference.
