Have your say on the Women's T20 World Cup

  1. Ire 89-7published at 16 overs

More excellent stuff from England's bowlers as Lauren Bell bounces back well from that boundary.

A thick outside edge from the final ball of the over evades Amy Jones' gloves and drops safe.

Standing up to the stumps, it would have been a spectacular catch.

  2. Ire 86-7published at 15.1 overs

Lauren Bell is back, finds Louise Little's outside edge and it flies away for four.

That is an exceptional spell from Charlie Dean.

Leah Paul just played across the line once too many times. She was trying to be aggressive and repair the situation.

An eventful over. Louise Little was almost run out without facing and then Leah Paul is dismissed.

She plays all around a straight ball from Charlie Dean and up goes the umpire's finger.

Dean finishes with figures of 2-11 - what a performer she is for England.

That's an excellent shot, she ended up having to put her own pace behind it but just helped it up and over.

  7. Ire 82-6published at 14.2 overs

Leah Paul gets a reverse sweep up and over short third and picks up four.

    Can she kick on?

There is a lot of inexperience showing. Alice Tector should've known there was a drinks' break coming at the end of this over but she is only 18.

Maybe Leah Paul should've been the one to say something.

    Ireland are six down.

And now a bit of good fortune for Alice Tector as an inside egde somehow misses the stumps and goes away for four more.

Since her return from injury, Freya Kemp has increased her use of slower balls dramatically. In 2024 she bowled less than 10% slower balls - this year one in three deliveries has been pace off.

You've got to get a target in place. You've got to be looking at 120 at least and break that down into chunks of 10 runs or over-by-over.

It will just help give them some clarity.

I've just been for a lap around the ground here. This is clearly not a capacity crowd but those that are here are invested. Each good bit of a fielding or wicketkeeping is being applauded and it appears England are enjoying themselves.

  16. Ire 62-5published at 12 overs

    Another very quiet over.

Alice Tector has two from nine balls, while Leah Paul is three from nine.

Orla Prendergast has the most experience of the Irish players in terms of playing around the world, she has played some franchise cricket and has played domestically in England.

You can see the difference in the confidence she has, the poise, to play in front of thousands of people. We need to get more of the Irish players experiencing that.

The youth teams need to be playing more to get those opportunities.

  20. Ire 57-5published at 10 overs

At the halfway stage of Ireland's innings, England are in total control.
