WICKETpublished at 17:58 BST 12 April

    Roland-Jones run out 16 (Middlesex 186-9 v Worcs - target 262)

A slice of fortune for Worcestershire - and they're nearly home and dry now.

Bowler Ethan Brookes deflects Joe Cracknell's drive onto the stumps at the non-striker's end - and that means Toby Roland-Jones has to go.

Last man Naavya Sharma emerges with Middlesex still needing 76 to win.

  2. Bad light stops playpublished at 17:58 BST 12 April

    Glamorgan 113-2 - Target 478 v Nottinghamshire

We've been back on for nine overs but they're off again at Trent Bridge.

It's down to the light but the clouds are also threatening more rain.

Glamorgan had matched their first innings total for the loss of just two wickets. Now a mere 365 more needed.

  3. 200 runs

200 up for Gloucestershirepublished at 17:57 BST 12 April

    Glos 175 & 200-8 v Durham 605-5 dec

Ollie Price hooks Kasey Aldridge for four and Gloucestershire have 200 in the innings, Price has 33.

Will Williams, one of the great blockers of the county game, is nought off 25 balls!

  4. rain stops play

Rain stops play at The Ovalpublished at 17:55 BST 12 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 661-6

Tom Lawes only gets to send down two balls of the next over before it begins pouring again! The players leave the field once more.

    April weather, eh?

  5. new ball

Surrey take third new ballpublished at 17:53 BST 12 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 661-6

You don't often see a third new ball taken in an innings, but that's exactly what we have here and there are 11 overs remaining for it to be used tonight.

Matt Fisher gets first go with the new cherry and concedes five to Ben Green off the over as Leicestershire's lead extends to 141.

  6. get involved

Get Involvedpublished at 17:53 BST 12 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 661-6

I know the answer is no but should Surrey’s pitch be reported for being below standard? I’d say this was worse than a result pitch at Taunton!

    Daniel Thorndyke, Hitchin

An age-old question! Let's wait until tomorrow when Surrey have batted again.

But we do know The Oval is usually a good track to bat on. But is it TOO good?

  7. Postpublished at 17:50 BST 12 April

    Yorks 177 & 15-2 v Hants 251 & 351-5d

Another big shout from Hants and Kyle Abbott as Finlay Bean is beaten all ends up.

Ben Brown took the 'catch' behind with Hants slip cordon seemed convinced there was an inside edge.

But Bean did not look behind, instead remarking his guard ostentatiously and it looks like it missed everything or at best clipped his hip.

Umpire Martin Saggers is unconvinced and probably correctly.

  8. 100 runs

    100 partnershippublished at 17:49 BST 12 April

    Kent 178 & 108-1 v Northants 684-2 dec

Ben Compton pushes through for a couple off Calvin Harrison and that takes this stand between him and Sam Northeast to 101.

Good stuff from the Kent batters.

Northants will want to see the back of one of these two before the close tonight.

  9. Play resumes in Bristolpublished at 17:47 BST 12 April

    Glos 175 & 188-8 v Durham 605-5 dec

We have more early evening cricket in the west country.

Durham have about 16 overs - weather permitting - to try to seal a three-day victory by claiming the last two Gloucestershire wickets.

  10. Postpublished at 17:45 BST 12 April

    Yorks 177 & 15-2 v Hants 251 & 351-5d

Codi Yusuf asks a question of Martin Saggers but receives a shake of the head after James Wharton is hit on the pad.

Bit leg side and quite possibly an inside edge but apart from that...

  11. 200 runs

200 up for Sussexpublished at 17:44 BST 12 April

    Sussex 202-5 - Target 328 v Warwickshire

A cover drive from Tom Price takes Sussex beyond 200.

128 more needed while the Bears need five wickets.

It could be settled on the third day but likely to be a thrilling short session on Day Four

  12. 150 runs

150 for Ben Coxpublished at 17:43 BST 12 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 650-6

    Ben Cox, LeicestershireImage source, Shutterstock

Ben Cox loses no further time in securing his first career 150 as he strokes a single off Rory Burns.

It's been a great knock by Cox - but whether it's a firm enough foundation for Leicestershire to force victory from here remains to be seen.

  13. Play resumes at The Ovalpublished at 17:42 BST 12 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 648-6

You don't often see the light deemed to have improved at this time of day - but that's what the umpires have decided and we're under way once more.

Surrey skipper Rory Burns had just put himself on to bowl before the delay and now he resumes his spell.

  14. Postpublished at 17:40 BST 12 April

    Yorks 177 & 14-2 v Hants 251 & 351-5d

Finlay Bean pulls Codi Yusuf to the midwicket boundary and that shot had a bit of feeling in it.

Bean and James Wharton have not seen off Kyle Abbott yet so it is not time to relax.

But the panic has subsided a touch with five overs negotiated since Sam Whiteman's dismissal.

  15. 100 runs

100 up for Kentpublished at 17:39 BST 12 April

    Kent 178 & 101-1 v Northants 684-2 dec

Sam Northeast cuts a Calvin Harrison delivery out into the deep and he and Ben Compton run two to tick the total into three figures.

A mammoth deficit of 403 runs, but recoveries have to start somewhere.

  16. Postpublished at 17:39 BST 12 April

    Middlesex 172-8 (target 262) v Worcs

New batter Toby Roland-Jones is playing a few shots - he struck his first ball from Ben Gibbon to the cover boundary and edged another four just beyond the slips.

Middlesex have the target down to 90 now but they have just two wickets standing, so it's still got to be long odds against a home win.

  17. 50 runs

50 for Jack Leaningpublished at 17:36 BST 12 April

    Sussex 197-4 - Target 328 v Warwickshire

Just before Simpson goes Jack Leaning completes his half century.

Nobody has managed a century in the match, If Leaning can get there Sussex will be close.

He adds to his score with a all-run four off Booth.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:34 BST 12 April

    Simpson lbw b Booth 1 (Sussex 184-5 - Target 328 v Warwickshire)

It keeps happening in this match. One wicket is followed quickly by another.

Michael Booth traps John Simpson lbw with one that looks plum.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:31 BST 12 April

    Morgan b Gibbon 4 (Middlesex 157-8 v Worcs - target 262)

Now Middlesex are eight down anyway as Sebastian Morgan plays around a ball from Ben Gibbon that clips his off stump.

Can the Pears wrap this up tonight?

  20. Postpublished at 17:29 BST 12 April

    Middlesex 155-7 (target 262) v Worcs

A nervy moment just now for Joe Cracknell - Middlesex's last recognised batter - as he chops down a delivery from Olly Hannon-Dalby and then aims a flailing kick at the loose ball, fearing it might roll onto his stumps.

Fortunately for Cracknell, it doesn't - and he misses the stumps as well. That would have been just about job done for Worcestershire.
