  1. Close of play at Hovepublished at 18:33 BST 12 April

    Sussex 234-5 v Warwickshire - Target 328

This fascinating match will reach it's denouement on the final morning.

By the close Jack Leaning and Tom Price had completed a half-century partnership and Sussex will be favourites.

All is not lost though for Warwickshire who will get a new ball after 19 overs if the game goes that far.

    Wharton lbw b Jack 21 (Yorks 177 & 51-3 v Hants 251 & 351-5d)

Eddie Jack is quite wide on the crease and angles it in towards middle and leg but there was a flash of leg stump on impact and that was probably not a bad decision.

James Wharton is on his way and Yorks are three down.

    A Patel b Lawes 0 (Surrey 520 v Leics 685-9)

Two in two for Tom Lawes, who cleans up Ajaz Patel to leave the visitors nine down!

Marcus Harris clips a single off Zak Chappell and he has his half century to go with a 125 in the first innings.

While all around him collapsed and panicked he has strolled in slippers and a velvet smoking jacket.

This half century has taken 105 balls and contained six fours. His partnership with Paul Coughlin for the seventh wicket looks key to Lancs having hope overnight.

  5. Play to resume at Trent Bridgepublished at 18:30 BST 12 April

    Glamorgan 113-2 v Nottinghamshire - Target 478

Back on, on this stop and start day,

Seven overs left. Can the champions make more progress towards victory.

  6. WORCS BEAT MIDDLESEX BY 57 RUNSpublished at 18:28 BST 12 April
    Breaking

    Middlesex 183 & 204 v Worcs 191 & 253

Tom Taylor seals it for the Pears!

Naavya Sharma prods outside off stump and Gareth Roderick takes the catch to wrap up victory for the visitors - their first at Lord's since 2010.

Joe Cracknell is left unbeaten on 43 - the highest individual score of the game for Middlesex and that, perhaps, was the difference between the sides.

Taylor finishes with 3-50, while Olly Hannon-Dalby and Matthew Waite take two wickets apiece.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:28 BST 12 April

    Green lbw b Lawes 19 (Surrey 520 v Leics 685-8)

Another leg before as Tom Lawes' inswinging yorker accounts for Ben Green and Leicestershire are seven down.

Ajaz Patel is out there now for the Foxes.

  8. Sussex progresspublished at 18:27 BST 12 April

    Sussex 224-5 - Target 324 v Warwishire

Tom Price drives Rob Yates through the covers for four and Sussex are 100 away.

  9. 200 runs

200 up for Middlesexpublished at 18:26 BST 12 April

    Middlesex 204-9 (target 262) v Worcs

Those runs that Gareth Roderick and Matthew Waite added this morning look so, soi vital for Worcestershire now.

Their partnership of 49 enabled the Pears to set Middlesex 262 - and, at the moment, they are exactly 58 short of that with just one wicket standing.

Still, Naavya Sharma has looked comfortable at the crease so far and there's still just that glimmer of faint hope for the home side.

  10. Postpublished at 18:20 BST 12 April

    Lancs 351 & 101-6 v Derbys 374

Mo Abbas is back for Derbys but his first ball is loose, wide and smashed disdainfully through point by Paul Coughlin for a boundary.

He straightens his second ball and Coughlin does not make decent contact, running through for a leg bye.

Marcus Harris brings up the Lancs 100 with a single the next ball but Abbas finds the outside edge of Coughlin's bat only for it to fall short of the slips.

WICKETpublished at 18:18 BST 12 April

    Cox lbw b Lawes 162 (Surrey 520 v Leics 676-7)

Ben Cox's marathon knock finally comes to an end as he walks across his stumps and is pinned in front by Tom Lawes.

Applause all round for Cox as he walks off, having made a career-high 162, and Tom Scriven comes out to replace him.

  12. Postpublished at 18:15 BST 12 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 676-6

Six overs remain tonight and you'd assume Leicestershire will have given up on the idea of putting Surrey in again before tomorrow.

They lead by 156, with Ben Cox now 162 not out and Ben Green on 16 at the other end.

  13. Postpublished at 18:12 BST 12 April

    Middlesex 189-9 - Target 262 v Worcs

It's a tricky situation for Joe Cracknell, caught between the twin aims of trying to nudge Middlesex nearer their target and shield last man Naavya Sharma from the strike.

Cracknell has turned down a few singles off Olly Hannon-Dalby, then finds he can't beat the field towards the end of the over - despite being handed a juicy full toss to work with.

It means Worcestershire get an over at Sharma and left-armer Ben Gibbon is entrusted with the task.

  14. wicket

DURHAM BEAT GLOUCESTERSHIRE BY AN INNINGS AND 225 RUNSpublished at 18:12 BST 12 April
    Breaking

    Williams c Potts b Aldridge 0 (Glos 175 & 225 v Durham 605-5 dec)

There ends one of the most one-sided Championship games you could witness.

After 30 balls of defiance, Will Williams goes for big drive off Kasey Aldridge to get off the mark, but the ball is caught by a flying Matt Potts at gully and his team-mates rush to congratulate him.

It wraps up victory by an innings and 225 runs.

A deserved 24-point success for Durham, just the one point for Gloucestershire as they open the season with successive innings defeats.

  15. Postpublished at 18:08 BST 12 April

    Sussex 223-5 v Warwickshire - Target 328

After Warwickshire went bang, bang with two quick wickets, Sussex are rebuilding again.

Dare we say the match is Leaning their way as Jack Leaning moves onto 70 and gets support from Tom Price?

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:08 BST 12 April

    Price c Lees b Potts 38 (Glos 175 & 205-9 v Durham)

    Almost done for Durham!

Ollie Price takes on a short ball from Matt Potts, and with the trap set, captain Alex Lees takes the catch in the deep!

  17. 50 runs

50 for Ben Comptonpublished at 18:06 BST 12 April

    Kent 178 & 127-1 v Northants 684-2 dec

Calvin Harrison is appealing for a bat-pad. Not out.

He then hits the stumps with a delivery, but Ben Compton had backed away.

Then Harrison drops short and Compton pulls it away for four and that is his 50.

A first of 2026 for Compton and we know he is a batter who can bat for a long period.

  18. Play resumes at The Ovalpublished at 18:02 BST 12 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 661-6

Yet more to-ing and fro-ing as the rain halts and we're back on for another scheduled 9.4 overs tonight.

  19. 50 runs

50 for Sam Northeastpublished at 18:00 BST 12 April

    Kent 178 & 113-1 v Northants 684-2 dec

A drag down from Calvin Harrison gets the treatment it deserves as Sam Northeast pulls it for four and he has his half-century off 116 balls with six fours.

After 94 last week at Durham, it's a second since his return to Kent.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:00 BST 12 April

    Hartley b Dal 24 (Lancs 351 & 78-6 v Derbys 374)

Anuj Dal has fired that in full and straight and Tom Hartley has left it, losing his off stump.

It looked as if Lancs had just steadied the ship but that has put a dirty great hole in the hull.

The lead is just 55 runs, there are four wickets remaining and at least another hour in the day if the light holds.
