Have your say on England women this summer

  1. Eng 200-8published at 45 overs

    Excellent running from England.

Lauren Filer looks to sweep Nensi Patel and it results in three leg byes. Filer was really pushed hard by Dean.

Dean then skips down the pitch and chips one into the leg side for a single.

She has the strike and England need 11 for victory.

Great delivery from Rosemary Mair, the yorker. There's not much Lauren Bell could have done about it. New Zealand give themselves a glimmer of hope.

You just start to think, if New Zealand could have got 30 runs more, it could have been a really close game.

  3. Eng 195-8published at 44 overs

    Target 211

Lauren Filer gets another yorker from Rosemary Mair at the end of the over and does very well to dig it out.

England need 16 off 36 balls.

    Bell b Mair 12 (Eng 195-8)

Lauren Bell's handy little knock is over.

Full and straight from Rosemary Mair and it does for Bell who jabs her bat down but is done for pace by the Kiwi seamer.

Lauren Bell currently on 12 (25) has now faced the most balls in an innings in her limited overs international career. Including Tests, Bell's faced more deliveries only on one other occasion - 0* (30) v Australia at the MCG in 2025

  6. Bell survivespublished at 43.1 overs

Lauren Bell has slide her bat well over the line.

  7. Umpire reviewpublished at 43.1 overs

Charlie Dean works Rosemary Mair to the leg side and England take a couple.

A throw from Georgia Plimmer hits the stumps at the non-striker's end.

Lauren Bell looks safe but the umpires want a quick check.

  8. Eng 192-7published at 43 overs

    Measured from Charlie Dean.

She picks up two off Nensi Patel with a nudge through mid-wicket before picking off a single.

Lauren Bell plays a little more extravagantly with a chip over cover for a couple before she defends the last ball of the over.

    This partnership is worth 32.

  9. Eng 187-7published at 42 overs

Charlie Dean bungles a scoop off Bree Illing which comes off her pad but she's able to pick up a leg bye leaving Lauren Bell two balls to survive.

Bell gets a bouncer from Illing off the final delivery of the over and pulls it for four.

England all of a sudden, look serene in this chase. They need 24 off 47 balls.

  10. Eng 182-7published at 41 overs

Charlie Dean misjudges a two off the first ball of Nensi Patel's to bring Lauren Bell back to the striker's end prompting a brief apology.

A heave across the line from Bell gets her off strike allowing Dean to carefully manage the remainder of the over.

You do feel like it's Charlie Dean who holds the key. They've got time to get the runs.

  12. Eng 179-7published at 40 overs

Charlie Dean advances down the pitch and it perhaps throws Rosemary Mair off a little.

Dean has to readjust and reach for the ball but fully commits and manages to crash it through the covers for four.

Later in the over Dean and Lauren Bell run a couple of twos.

Amelia Kerr brings the field in for the final delivery but Dean is able to square drive to keep the strike.

Smart batting and a productive over for England with nine runs from it.

Melie Kerr finishes her 10 overs with figures of 2-54, her second-most expensive 10-over spell in 16 ODIs v England.

  14. Eng 170-7published at 39 overs

    Target 211

Charlie Dean shows some intent to Amelia Kerr but cannot pierce the in-field.

Eventually she square drives the penultimate delivery of the over for a single to keep the strike.

Kerr finishes with 2-54 from her 10 overs.

  15. Eng 168-7published at 38 overs

Rosemary Mair is tight with her lines.

Lauren Bell content to defend as Mair goes wide of the crease and arrows it in at the tall England seamer's toes.

    Bell survives the over.

  16. Eng 167-7published at 37 overs

Lauren Bell has a pretty solid defensive technique.

She sees out four deliveries from Amelia Kerr before a bottom-handed cover drive for four.

  17. Eng 162-7published at 36 overs

A single apiece for Lauren Bell and Charlie Dean off a tight Bree Illing over.

England need 49 runs from 84 balls with three wickets in hand.

  18. Eng 160-7published at 35 overs

Lauren Bell is promoted up the order for an England tail that looks quite long.

    New Zealand are favourites now.

England have a lot to do now. Charlie Dean is going to have to take some control here.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 34.2 overs

    Bouchier c Bates b A Kerr 59 (Eng 160-7)

Maia Bouchier hammers a four after picking Amelia Kerr's google, but the Kiwi leg-spinner has the last laugh as she dismisses her next ball.

Bouchier has largely judged length pretty well in her innings but ends up caught into two minds a little working the ball to leg and a leading edge spoons up.

    Simple catch for Suzie Bates.
