  1. Eng 156-5published at 19.3 overs

This is Freya Kemp securing her place in the World Cup XI. Four more crunched through mid-wicket.

  2. Eng 152-5published at 19.2 overs

This is what England want from Freya Kemp she's a boundary hitter at the death.

It was attempted pace off, and goodness what a free swing of the bat that was.

  4. 6 runs

    Eng 150-5published at 19.1 overs

They can with shots like that! Freya Kemp climbs into a full toss and sends it over the rope.

  5. Eng 143-5published at 19 overs

    Misfield!

Sree Charani has a shocker on the boundary, pretty much running past the ball, and Dani Gibson gets four more.

Now. Can England get to 160 or is that asking too much?

  6. Eng 139-5published at 18.4 overs

Nicked for four by Freya Kemp.

    That helps.

  7. Eng 135-5published at 18.3 overs

Gibson spoons another off a leading edge now - another hint the pitch not be the easiest for batting.

  8. Eng 134-5published at 18.1 overs

Everything has to go now and Dani Gibson starts well by cutting into a gap after a wide.

Steve: England are too scared to hit out, playing a safe game will not win the World Cup. Today proves it - Heather Knight good squad player but not a frontline batter anymore. Needs a change up completely.

    Half right.

It hit Gibson in line with the stumps but would have missed off.

That concludes the 18th and England only have 129 on the board.

No. Outside the line, missing off stump. India are in their fielding positions ready for the next over.

Have India got Dani Gibson now? They think this is lbw. Has Gibson got some glove on it?

It's actually one of Alice Capsey's strengths, the reverse sweep. Just when England pick up a bit of momentum it's halted again.

  15. wicket

    Capsey b Patil 28 (Eng 126-5)

Now Alice Capsey goes. She's tried that reverse sweep again but misses this time and is bowled.

Two new batters at the crease with a big finish needed. Problems...

When you're playing against India they're not going to be fazed by anything under 150.

  17. Eng 123-4published at 17 overs

As if to prove Alex's point, Freya Kemp drills her first ball for four.

This is a big innings for Kemp too. As much as we talk about the fight for places being among England's batters, the other way of getting Nat Sciver-Brunt in would be to drop one of Kemp or Dani Gibson.

Kemp has another three overs to make an impact.

It just looked like that got stuck in the surface. Heather Knight comes down the pitch and gets herself in a tangle, she just pats it back to the bowler. I don't necessarily think that wicket's a bad thing, though.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16.3 overs

    Knight c&b Charani 18 (Eng 116-4)

This was not in the script. It looks oh so tame, with Heather Knight just chipping a catch back to spinner Sree Charani. You have to say it's good bowling, though. The left-arm spinner held the ball back a little as she saw Knight coming and, with a bit of stop in the pitch too, the former England captain has just spooned the ball back.

If Heather Knight is to be in the XI, this is a good position for her. If England are in trouble she can rebuild, and if they're on top she can go on the slippery pole down the order.
