But now Shafali Verma is on her way!

The India opener doesn't read the back of the hand slower delivery from Lauren Bell, gets a little cramped and spoons the ball into the covers.

Dani Gibson is waiting and she takes the catch above her head.

There's a difference here between how England and India have set the tone in the powerplay. There's no fear from India. Neither of these two India batters appear to care if they get out, which is a good place to be. England took no risks in the first four overs.

  5. Ind 26-0published at 2.4 overs

    Shafali Verma is rattling along.

The India opener uses the pace of Lauren Bell's delivery, pivoting to pull the ball through fine leg for four.

Her next shot also goes to the boundary, with a thick edge flying away to the ropes at third.

Shafali Verma has changed her game. Earlier in her career, Katherine Sciver-Brunt would try and bowl short at Verma and she'd struggle but she has adapted her game now.

Since the start of last year, Lauren Bell has taken 10 powerplay wickets in T20Is, at a strike-rate of 15. That’s the most powerplay wickets in that period for any team that is appearing at the upcoming World Cup.

She moves the ball more than almost anyone in the world, averaging 1.8 degrees of swing since the start of last year - among bowlers to deliver 100+ powerplay deliveries in that time, the only bowler to average more swing than Bell is Jess Kerr.

  8. Ind 17-0published at 2 overs

Linsey Smith, having been rested for the first T20 in Chelmsford, returns to her place as England's second bowler.

Issy Wong's second over went for 29 on Thursday - this isn't quite as expensive, but all the even-numbered balls are sent for four by Shafali Verma, twice over the covers and once down the ground.

England looked tenative and that was the difference between the top order, who let the bowlers bowl to them, and Freya Kemp who backed herself to play the big shots.

  10. Ind 5-0published at 1 over

    Target 169

Both Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana were dismissed in Lauren Bell's first over on Thursday.

The openers survive this opening set of six deliveries, scoring four singles with another run coming from a wide.

I think England have got to a decent score, you know.

I'm slightly surprised by this fact but India require the highest chase by a team in England in T20 internationals.

Mike Peter will take you through it...

Love that from Freya Kemp, showing exactly why she's in this side. 39 from 13, her strike rate way above anyone in this team.

England are playing their best bowling attack today, they'll be pleased to have something to bowl at.

  15. Postpublished at 15:58 BST 30 May

Freya Kemp finished on 39 from 13 balls. She has given England a chance. An innings that meandered for 18 overs suddenly burst into life.

Should she have been in earlier?!

England have got something to bowl at. India won't fear 160, they'll back themselves to chase it down, but I feel a few good overs can bring England back into the game. 150 was never going to be enough.

And again! It's another full toss but Freya Kemp is taking full advantage. This one is four to mid-off.

Well, I wanted 15 off the over and Freya Kemp is on for it. She played down on one knee, she was so still when she played the shot.
