During warm-ups, the scramble for any loose Indian cricket ball caused pandemonium in the crowds but even more so when it had graced the bat or hands of the 15-year-old.

Prendergast leads Ireland to first T20 World Cup win

It's been a fantastic few days for Irish cricket. 24 hours after the senior men's team stunned India, Ireland's women beat West Indies by six wickets to secure their first win at a Women's T20 World Cup.

An all-round bowling performance saw Ireland restrict West Indies to 128-7 in Bristol before Orla Prendergast broke the back of their chase with 63 runs off 44 balls.

She was dismissed in the 16th over with 21 runs required from 28 balls, but Rebecca Stokell held her nerve to see Ireland home with 11 balls to spare.

"It just means so much - we've had the belief throughout this tournament and it just hadn't come together," Prendergast told Sky Sports.

Ireland are without no fewer than six players due to injury for this series, with Paul Stirling, Josh Little, Mark Adair, Curtis Campher, Barry McCarthy, and Jordan Neill all unavailable. Together, they have a combined 493 T20I caps.

But in their absence, two debutants stepped up to help Ireland stun India, with Matt Hollard and Jai Moondra sharing five wickets.

"It was a big stage for me, for my family and my team members, they were all rooting for me so all I can do is keep calm and keep doing what I have been doing because it's kept me levelling up," said Indian-born pacer Moondra.

"I was feeling excitement at the same time. Testing myself against India and getting a first-ball wicket, I was trying not to be overwhelmed because we still had nine wickets to go.

"It is a dream come true to get on to an international platform and play against India. It's something special, a class feeling."
