  1. 400 up for Nottspublished at 12:43 BST 9 May

    Notts 401-9 v Surrey

And there you are - even the most optimistic among the Nottinghamshire faithful wouldn't have anticipated applauding the 400 when Joe Clarke departed early this morning!

Josh Tongue steers Dan Lawrence for a couple to third man to move on to 27 and take this last-wicket partnership with Olly Stone to 60.

  2. 'Astonishing' catch by Yatespublished at 12:41 BST 9 May

    Warwickshire 147 v Yorkshire 152

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

That’s an astonishing catch! But that is a quite remarkable catch full length to his right just gets his hand underneath it.

  3. Durham go dotty at Worcesterpublished at 12:41 BST 9 May

    Worcestershire 270-9 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

We have just seen 30 dot balls in a row. Which keeps Worcestershire out in the middle but is frustrating for Durham's bowlers.

And it's young flat-mates Jack Home and Harry Darley who are holding them up.

Darley is making his first-class debut while Home is playing in only his third game. Darley has one run so far but Home has hit some nice cover-drives to the boundary.

It is a warm and sunny day at New Road and we are set for 104 overs today to claw back some of the 30 overs lost to the weather yesterday.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:40 BST 9 May

    Critchley lbw b Abbott 27 (Essex 126-6 v Hants 235)

Not much doubt about this as Kyle Abbott pins Matt Critchley back in the crease.

That will put a spring in Hants steps with a fourth wicket of the morning.

Critchley didn't get any distance forward and this strikes his back pad right in front of off stump.

Impact would have knocked two sticks probably.

  5. Postpublished at 12:34 BST 9 May

    Sussex 97-2 v Leics 328

Daniel Hughes (62) and Jack Leaning (21) have added 79 for the third wicket to refloat Sussex's ship after the double strike from Tom Helm early on.

  6. 50 runs

50 for Somersetpublished at 12:34 BST 9 May

    Glamorgan 54-2 v Somerset 354

There were some murmurs that this was heading for a Glamorgan follow-on when they lost Asa Tribe and Zain ul Hassan, but Ben Kellaway and Kiran Carlson are keeping their county competitive as it stands.

Glamorgan move past 50, and Kellaway and Carlson will want to ensure this partnership - currently at 20 - gets to 50 and beyond.

  7. YORKSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 152published at 12:34 BST 9 May

    Warwickshire 147 v Yorkshire 152

    What a catch!

Rob Yates takes a beauty to end to Yorkshire innings for 152 - giving them a lead of just five runs.

Yorkshire would have expected it to be a lot bigger when they started the morning on 110-4 but the Bears have been on the prowl for wickets and have taken them superbly.

When Harry Brook got out Yorkshire were 137-5 and lost their last six wickets for just 15 runs.

A remarkable collapse from where they were.

What a contest we have on our hands here!

  8. Postpublished at 12:31 BST 9 May

    Worcs 263-9 v Durham

    Stephan Shemilt
BBC Sport cricket correspondent at New Road

That's another three-over spell for Ben Stokes this morning, this time with the second new ball. It cost him nine runs, with one maiden, but it's probably the worst spell he's bowled so far.

  9. 50 runs

50 partnership for Stone and Tonguepublished at 12:30 BST 9 May

    Notts 391-9 v Surrey

You wouldn't have put much money on this last pair adding 50, but that's exactly what Olly Stone and Josh Tongue have managed.

Both Nottinghamshire tailenders now have their highest scores of the season so far - Stone on 31 and Tongue on 21 - and Surrey will be getting somewhat frustrated.

    Next stop, 400?

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:29 BST 9 May

    Cliff c Yates b Barnard 1 (Warwickshire 147 v Yorkshire 152-9)

Yorkshire have found run-scoring extremely difficult since Harry Brook and Jonny Bairstow departed and Ben Cliff now goes for one run from 11 balls.

One to get for Warwickshire who have hit back very well this morning.

  11. Postpublished at 12:28 BST 9 May

    Essex 117-5 v Hants 235

Matt Critchley and Wiaan Mulder are ticking along quite nicely for all that the former is a touch lucky to still be there having been dropped by Scott Currie on 19.

The pair have added 37 since the fall of Tom Westley and Essex now trail by 118

  12. Postpublished at 12:22 BST 9 May

    Warwickshire 147 v Yorkshire 151-8

    Melinda Farrell
Sports broadcaster/journalist on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

I don’t think Mousley will get too many easier catches than that because there was no pace on it.

It was just lobbed up to him quite easily he didn’t have to move his feet just put his hands in front of his chest.

The pressure was building and Van Beek was trying to hit himself out of a hole but instead Yorkshire find themselves further in one.

  13. Bad light stops play at Old Traffordpublished at 12:21 BST 9 May

    Lancs 201 v Middlesex 115-5

There's a lot of dark cloud above the ground and the light is sufficiently restricted for the umpires to take the players off.

It's nicely poised at the moment, with Middlesex five wickets down and still 86 behind.

  14. Postpublished at 12:15 BST 9 May

    Notts 371-9 v Surrey

Olly Stone and Josh Tongue are enjoying themselves now.

Stone, who took 35 balls to get off the mark, is now in full flow on 24 not out, having dispatched Jordan Clark for a couple of boundaries and he and Tongue have stretched this Nottinghamshire total by 30.

Could be valuable runs before Stone and Tongue start lacing up their bowling boots.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:14 BST 9 May

    Van Beek c Mousley b Thompson 2 (Warwickshire 147 v Yorkshire 151-8)

Into the lead... but eight down.

Logan van Beek sends it straight to the covers and is out with a routine catch for Dan Mousley.

Van Beek tried to lift it over the top of cover didn’t get any elevation on it and has gone for two.

A second wicket for Jordan Thompson against his old side.

  16. Yorkshire into the leadpublished at 12:13 BST 9 May

    Warwickshire 147 v Yorkshire 151-7

Lots of dot balls on the scorecard.

In the last nine overs there has only been one in which Yorkshire have scored more than one run.

Warwickshire are putting the squeeze on them but the visitors are at least into the lead.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:12 BST 9 May

    ul Hassan c J Rew b Gregory 16 (Glamorgan 34-2 v Somerset 354)

No hundred this week for the Glamorgan opener!

Lewis Gregory makes Zain ul Hassan clip one through to James Rew and the hosts are two down already in Cardiff.

A somewhat stuttering start for the Welsh county.

An up-and-down morning for Worcestershire against Durham, in a match that was delayed by rain yesterday.

The hosts have lost two early wickets to be nine down, but have just crept past the 250-mark to pick up a bonus point.

Ben Stokes is about to come in for his first spell of the day for Durham.

Derbyshire also lost a couple of early wickets against Northants, but have powered on since and are 390-5. Ten more runs in the next three overs and that'll be another bonus point.

Wayne Madsen was dismissed for 59 earlier, having yesterday become the second player to reach 24,000 runs for his county in all forms of the game - emulating Kim Barnett in 1992.

Kent's chase of Gloucestershire's 325 isn't exactly going to plan, the visitors already 48-3 in Bristol, having lost Zak Crawley, Sam Northeast and Mikey Cohen. Will Williams taking two wickets for the home side.

  19. dropped catch

Critchley dropped on 19published at 12:10 BST 9 May

    Essex 103-5 v Hants 235

Matt Critchley lashes loosely to backward point off Codi Yusuf, Scott Currie gets two hands to it but it burst through his grasp.

That should have been taken but it costs a single instead.

  20. Postpublished at 12:09 BST 9 May

    Worcs 257-9 v Durham

    Stephan Shemilt
BBC Sport cricket correspondent at New Road

Ben Stokes is sharing the second new ball in his fifth spell of the innings. He's just sent down what could be his worst over so far - either too straight or too wide.
