    Yorkshire 138-4 v Surrey

Big appeal from Jordan Clark who is screaming for lbw against Jonny Bairstow - but the umpire shakes his head and it does look like it would have been sliding down leg.

Clark is a little bit lucky he doesn't tread on the ball which he doesn't realise had come back to him while appealing.

  2. 50 runs

50 for James Rewpublished at 14:35 BST 15 May

    Somerset 161-2 v Sussex

That's his fourth 50 of the season - this one arriving in 94 balls with three fours and two sixes.

He also has a top score this summer of 122 - made on this ground in the season opener v Notts.

He's had a little luck after a couple of drops either side of lunch, but that was a lovely shot to reach the landmark, lofting off spinner Jack Carson over mid wicket on the front foot.

  3. Postpublished at 14:34 BST 15 May

    Kent 164-1 v Durham

An anxious moment for Ben Dawkins as he jabs the bat down on a good ball from Matthew Potts and it just misses his stumps. The 19-year-old then plays and misses. Time to regroup and push on.

  4. Postpublished at 14:29 BST 15 May

    Gloucs 91-6 v Northants

We're down to two slips now as Liam Guthrie bowls short to Will Williams.

Williams is across his stumps to try and pull the ball. He misses and the ball is taken by keeper Lewis McManus down the leg side.

Some threatening-looking cloud cover hovers over the ground and this time Williams ducks a short ball.

    Budinger b Snater 89 (Essex v Leics 190-4)

The way Sol Budinger was playing, it needed something special to get rid of him - and Shane Snater has just produced it.

A superb delivery leaves the left-hander off the pitch and hits the off stump as Essex continue their post-lunch fightback.

Budinger hit two sixes and 12 fours in his 114-ball innings and has now been replaced by Stevie Eskinazi.

  6. wicket

    Gubbins c Veyrrenne b O'Neill 36 (Hampshire 85-5 v Notts)

Another wicket for Notts, another wicket for overseas quick Fergus O'Neill and another catch behind the wicket for keeper Kyle Verreynne.

Gubbins, the one defiant batter for Hants today, departs. It brings debutant Delano Potgieter to the crease.

  7. 100 partnership for Kentpublished at 14:27 BST 15 May

    Kent 161-1 v Durham

    Ben DawkinsImage source, Getty Images

Ben Dawkins cover drives England's Matthew Potts for four and moves on to 69 not out, his highest first-class score.

Sam Northeast pulls a short ball from Ben Raine for a single in the next over as the Kent pair post a 100 partnership.

  8. Postpublished at 14:27 BST 15 May

    Somerset 152-2 v Sussex

Tom Clark is into his fifth over and James Rew defends compactly into the off side.

    Maiden over.

Two runs to Tom Lammonby at the other end off Jack Carson via a sweep to fine leg - and that's the 100 partnership with Rew off 173 balls.

Four runs drilled over the bowler's head to take Somerset past 150 in 42 overs. Lovely flowing drive there.

  9. North will be 'unbelievable' in new rolepublished at 14:25 BST 15 May

Durham head coach Ryan Campbell was a lunchtime guest on BBC 5 Live Sports Extra.

Here's what he had to say about Marcus North, who is leaving his job as director of cricket with the north-east county to become England's new national selector.

Here's what Campbell had to say about his former boss: "Sometimes you can’t replace great people. Marcus has taken the club to another level. England cricket have made an unbelievably good choice.

"He’s as English as an Australian can be. He married an English lady, he has lived in the north east for years, he has invested in county cricket for years.

"He will test McCullum, Stokes and Key and will ask the right questions. He will be unbelievable."

  10. dropped catch

Carlson gets a reprievepublished at 14:25 BST 15 May

    Glamorgan 135-2 v Warwickshire

Significant moment on day one, as Warwickshire pass up a glorious opportunity to make a timely breakthrough.

Nathan Gilchrist has bowled a number of decent deliveries since lunch and he looks to have snared Kiran Carlson on 65, which would have been reward for his eforts

He helps the ball to second slip, where the usually uber reliable Rob Yates awaits - but he shells the catch and Glammy's batters scamper through for an expected single.

  11. Postpublished at 14:25 BST 15 May

    Yorkshire 130-4 v Surrey

After Harry Brook's soft dismissal, it could be a really important knock now for Yorkshire captain Jonny Bairstow.

Bairstow doesn't quite time a punch down to long on but his brute strength ensures it still reaches the boundary.

  12. Postpublished at 14:21 BST 15 May

    Gloucs 88-6 v Northants

Williams has recovered from that blow to the hand well enough to smash Harry Conway down the ground for four.

A bit of width outside off and swinging through the line - just past Conway's outstretched hand.

  13. get involved

Get Involvedpublished at 14:20 BST 15 May

Why can't Brook bat sensibly - just watched him getting out again to a 'walk down the wicket shot' v Surrey. These cameos (if 7 qualifies as that) just do not cut the mustard !!

    James, Elgin

Trouble with comments like Key made yesterday is expecting a five-fer from Robinson every innings now. "World's best" is a heavy label to carry.

    JE, London

ECB, take note, Rew back in his best position today!

    Marc, South Glos

I know all the attention will go towards Zak Crawley. But a huge well done must go to 19 year old Ben Dawkins for coming in and playing like he has. One for the future, so happy to have him on the team

    Richard, Kent

  14. 50 runs

50 for Ben Kellawaypublished at 14:19 BST 15 May

    Glamorgan 122-2 v Warwickshire

Ben Kellaway joins his partner Kiran Carlson reaching his half-century at Edgbaston.

Glamorgan's top order batter brings it up in fine style too, with a commanding boundary through mid-wicket, lovely to watch.

This pair have picked up where they left off after lunch and look intent on asserting further.

  15. Postpublished at 14:18 BST 15 May

    Somerset 144-2 v Sussex

Henry Crocombe is into his 10th over, bowling round the wicket to Tom Lammonby.

Lammonby plays and misses but survives the over.

  16. ouch!

Williams pinned by Conwaypublished at 14:16 BST 15 May

    Gloucs 84-6 v Northants

Will Williams is down the pitch to Harry Conway and struck on the pad.

A lone appeal from the bowler - not out.

Williams drives firmly but the ball is stopped by the stumps at the non-striker's end.

A short ball is awkwardly fended off in front of square leg. A short leg comes in - and the physio is coming out.

That ball struck the batter on the hand.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:16 BST 15 May

    Hose c Singh b Balderson 2 (Lancs v Worcs 107-6)

They're tumbling all over the shop after lunch! Worcestershire are in a spot of bother now.

Adam Hose slashes at one outside off and the ball flies to Harry Singh who makes a superb catch at second slip.

Lancashire have been pitch perfect in the cordon so far today and they have dragged this match back in their favour after a tricky first hour.

  18. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 14:14 BST 15 May

    Kent 150-1 v Durham

Ben Dawkins edges a ball from Matthew Potts, but David Bedingham cannot hold onto the chance in the slips.

How costly will that be for Durham?

  19. wicket

    Brook c Burns b Fisher 7 (Yorkshire 121-4 v Surrey)

    Matt FisherImage source, Getty Images

Harry Brook is gone for seven!

Brook tries to use his feet to hit on the up but only edges to Surrey captain Rory Burns who makes a good catch at first slip.

Both of Yorkshire's big guns are now back in the shed. Surrey will be absolutely delighted.

  20. Another 'road' at Beckenhampublished at 14:11 BST 15 May

    Kent 146-1 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

I imagine anyone who won the toss would have chosen to bat today.

Beckenham once again looks like it is offering a lot to the batsmen and not much for the bowlers. Expect a decent Kent first innings total to develop.

They are currently cruising along at 4.09 an over. Ben Dawkins has 63 and Sam Northeast, who often does well against Durham, has made 33 so far.

It is still really chilly here and we have a bit of rain around this afternoon, but so far we have not had any interruptions.
